- I will show you how to remove a 99-03 Lexus RX300 door panel. Please watch the entire video to ensure proper removal. I am not responsible if you break anything upon removal or install. This is simply a video documenting how I removed my door panel.
Great stuff, it's videos and tips like yours keeps my aging Lexus out of the dealers garage and ultimately out of the scrap yard!

Would this work on a rear door? Also, I'm using a 1999 Toyota Harrier, which I'm pretty sure is the same. Just different badges. Cheers, thanks.

so I tried to take that driver master control out yesterday with a pry tool at the top like you said, but it doesn't pop out easily so I gave up for now. It's a 2001 RX300 so it should just have the one clip at the top right? Can I be pretty aggressive with it? I am replacing the whole bezel and switch module anyway - thanks in advance!
Charles Kim you will need to just keep working with it. The clip is really tricky to get just make sure to not get too aggressive and break it due to the age the plasics are getting brittle. Look where the lock/unlock button is on the master switch follow it up to the top of the switch and that is just about dead center of the clip you need to press in on.
@@TheInteriorAutoMechanic that was very helpful. I got it and replaced the switch. The windows all work now but the door locks still won't lock automatically. Is that a door lock issue since we can rule out the master switch?

Any video's on taking off the door panel with the door closed & from the inside? I think my door actuator has gone bad & I can't open the door from the inside or outside. Thanks for any help guys.

How can I get the moonroof to close. I need to dismantle the moonroof switch. How does it come off?
Hi the moon roof switch should be held in with a few screws. Most likely they will be hidden behind the clear plastic light lens. You will need to pop that off (be gentle) then remove the screws. Then the moon roof console piece should be loose and you can pull it down and unplug it. Once you do that you should be able to see the moon roof motor and there should be a place to insert an Allen key and manually close the moon roof. I hope this helps! Good luck on your project!

Thanks for the video, my 2001 RX driver side interior door handle stopped opening the door. I have to lower the window and reach around the outside to open the door, do i need to remove the door panel to repair or can i just remove the interior door handle to repair?
Hi there, I'm glad the video was helpful. 2 things could have happened. Either your door cable has broken or the plastic pieces in the inside of the handle have broken allowing your cable to come loose. If the cable has broken you will need to remove the panel. However if the handle clips just broke on the back side of the handle you can simply remove the interior door handle as seen in the video then install a new handle. If you need more help let me know.
I have a short that affects my door locks, driver side window and passenger rear window. I have checked all the fuses that is assigned to the door locks and windows. So where do I start first to try to locate where the short is ?
You probably need to replace your Driver Side Master Control Switch (the module where all the window/lock push/pull switches are on the driver side door (as shown in this video) - I only know this b/c I have the exact same problem on my 2001 RX300 and this module fixes all those issues. It's a very common problem with these models.
if my rear passenger window is going super slow is that the motor going out?
Most likely yes it is
Try spraying silicone into the felt channels and "helping" the window up and down a few times with your hand. The resistance to the window moving increases dramatically with age.

hey i was watching this video and my 2000 lexus rx300 window is going slowly up and down... is there any way i can clean the motor to have it slide easier?? Also do you have any advice how to take off the rear bumper cover? I would greatly appreciate it and happy to give you my email!
Hi I'm sorry for the late reply. To make the window rollup and down easier try putting some white lithium grease in the window track. I will work on making a video for the rear bumper. Thank you :)

How hard is it to replace the window motor and lock ?
Mike's Garage Should be pretty easy. In my opinion the easiest way to replace the window motor is to remove the window regulator and motor all together, then replace the motor while you have it out. While its out you should be able to remove the lock easier too. Be sure not to drop the glass in the door when you remove the regulator and motor.
Thanks, the tabs on the top and bottom of the door latch bezel were the key to getting it apart.

To remove the door handle trim piece just stick a flathead right into the door lock switch on the top and then right underneath the handle for the bottom tab. Comes out in 2 seconds
Great video, very clear instructions. I do have a need for getting a rear door window back on the track mechanism for an RX300 (yr 2000) if you find the time. I hear it clanking around when I push the window button but it doesn't go up all the way. It will if I manually pull up the window and let it drop down into the mechanism to were it's seated properly and then it can go up all the way. Either way thanks for the information.
Is this the same for a 99 lexus es300?

Thank you. I could not find the two missing screws under the control and under the arm rest.
Having a hard time getting the bezel around the door handle off
They are difficult to remove however it is very do able. If you get frustrated take a break and come back to it. I highly recommend getting the blue pry tools if you do not have them.
Can't get to one right now it's raining and I need to get the window up thanks for replying
@@MarcG7424 if you arent too worried about breaking the bezel, a good yank should remove it one you take the screw out. But be advised there is a very good chance that it will break but at least you can get your window up
