Not a rancher, not a farmer....what you are Dex is an intelligent self motivated achiever !! Your success won't be limited to simple titles, but rather by your many accomplishments and by the many people you help throughout your life's journey :) Keep up the great work brother !
I only started following you a few days ago but I've been watching one episode after another. I am so impressed by your drive and ambition. You also planned for your future. I can not imagine how one man has accomplished so much in only 50 years. I so appreciate your faith and your love for The Lord is so evident. I retired from the United States Air Force over twenty years ago and was fortunate to be able to visit your wonderful country several times between 1986-1990. I am also very concerned about our food system and just since the virus, I've started a backyard garden. In the near future, I want to start raising chickens and rabbits. I'm learning so much from watching your channel. I would love to visit you in person and learn more about the day to day operation of your farm. I have shared your channel with all of my homesteading friends here on UA-cam. Keep up the good work, I will never miss one of your videos from this day forward. LaDonna Woodley
Dexter we love watching your videos, and the definition of a farmer is someone who grows animals or plants for consumption, so you are a farmer. My grandfather was a very wise man and he told me that there are no failures, only lessons. and I think it is very commendable that you share your lessons with us, even though sometimes they are hard lessons. Keep up the good work your farm is looking fabulous. Best wishes, Jimmy
I’m always inspired every time I watch Dexter’s videos. A real motivator indeed. May God bless you with more wisdom as you continue to embark on more Agricultural / farming projects . I’m checking in from Windhoek, Namibia 🇳🇦. Much love to Dexter’s World 🌍.👏👏👏
Hi Dexter, I started following you just about four months ago......I am a small farmer in Kenya.... i have about 1000 chickens in various stages (chicks to ready for meat)....I have always grown mine for meat. Though from your channels I am happy to let you know that you have truly encouraged me to try out mixed farming...... and I also want to copy you on your free range, and selective breeding....Thank you so much for the lessons you are teaching us.
Hi Dexter. I had the same experience with chicken pox on my turkeys. I solved it with a good and save spray for horses to avoid flies and mosquitoes. I use this for all my animals (chickens, turkeys, dogs and cats). You can also spray the coops and hens with it to avoid feather mites. The product name is "Bronco" and sold for horses. It will keep your animals free from mosquitoes.
As a wise man once told me 'You have livestock, you have deadstock (I was breeding parrots at the time) - you just do the best that you can and learn from mistakes. Your farm is doing very well - your workers are hardworking :) You Are a Farmer!
I've farmed livestock my entire life. 50 years. If you're going to have livestock, you're absolutely going to lose livestock. Trick is to limit the casualties. You never eliminate the risks altogether.
🚨 Hello 👋🏽 from Texas. Don’t be concerned with those who are giving negative comments. Most likely they are not doing anything theirselves to produce their own food or to help their community. You have taken tremendous strides and have done very well. Starting from scratch with no real experience or guidance is not a easy thing to do and yet you have done just that and made a great success. 🎊🎉🎊🎉 To help your fruit trees grow better and to make it easier to maintain your property I would suggest putting a thick layer of mulch/wood chips around the base of the trees. Also using a mulching lawnmower to cut the grass/weeds around the property will return the nutrients back to the soil enriching the soil even further than it may already be. One more thing to consider. I would spread clover seed around the parts of the property where the animals are kept. The clover will give nitrogen to the other plants in the area and will be a valuable food source for the goats and foul you keep. I would also grow a lot of Comfrey, clover, Malabar spinach and grasses to feed to the rabbits. You will notice a difference in quality of the meat and overall health of the rabbits. The Comfrey plant 🌱 also makes great natural fertilizer for your vegetable gardens. I wish you well in you business endeavors.
Lots of love and respect from Canada to one of the most pleasant and good hearted person. We enjoy watching your informative and interesting videos my friend. Keep them coming.🙏🙏🙏🙏 Thanks!!!
I believe you have inspired millions of people with the work that you are doing Mr. Dexter... Thank you so much for the videos that you share for us on youtbe... You are succeeding little by little and I believe your future ahead is much more prepared. Thanks once again. I love all your videos. i AM FROM BELIZE....
Awesome property and you are absolutely a Farmer! Great job with building your beautiful farm Dexter! You are a very smart man. Much love from Louisiana USA!!
Hi Dexter. You and your nice smile impress me. Being between innocent creatures ...plants. animals ..and children (respectively) is the best meditation and make a great soul.
Hello i just watch only one video bcs it was recomemded. I find it amazing me and my mom cant stop watching it rn 😂 More chickens and eggs to come! God bless you!
Wow I’m so impressed with the progress of your farm🤩! I’m so happy to see your animals thriving and was so sad when you shared about the death of your RIR chickens due to heat exhaustion. I’m very glad to see you rectified the matter immediately by planting banana trees and ensuring it doesn’t happen again. I was also very impressed to see you planting vegetables and look forward to further harvests in the future. I cannot wait for when you integrate the fish once the water system is installed. You don’t look a day over 40 so I was surprised when you said you will retire in another 5 years! I love watching your videos and seeing the care and attention you give to your animals and fish 😍🙃😊🥰💕❤️💜💖
Hi Mr. Dex. I am amaze to see the banana trees were relocated, "the rooster is very liucky becuase he has 5 wives " 😁😁😁😁 You got me all eyes on this video. God bless.
Nice to see the veggies part of your farm sir dex. Promoting sustainability to our kababayans. Like the shirt! Subscriber since your betta fish days! Proud of you!!!
Sir Dexter we are very sad in what happened to your breeder Rir but your videos really serves as stress reliever for me and my wife in this pandemic season. I am an OFW in Oman and my wife is an Filipina Italian citizen. You are a great influence to us and I hope that you will allow us to to visit your farm when we decide for good in the Philippines.
Dexter. In your chicken breeding pens the 'Hot, Humid, Air' needs somewhere to escape to, heat rises as you know. You need to remove some of the corrugated iron on the 'back wall' of the enclosure at roof level. At least 24 inch/60cm of the iron wall, along its entire length, at roof level should be removed and replaced with screening. You require 'AIRFLOW' through the coup and not just ventilation from the front and ends only. You need some cheap battery powered Hygrometers (Temperature and Humidity) in all your enclosed animal rearing areas to monitor these parameters. Great video. Cheers.
Hi Dexter thank you for sharing and teaching. I used to raise chickens. I think the galvanized sidings and roof contributed to the heat. But you are right it's more durable. You can put insulation on the roof and open the back part and put wire mesh.
Hellow sir Dexter, it is a Nice Farm!!! May comments lng po ako, The longest side of the structure/building should be facing north and south to lessen the heat coming from the sun, and your solution is to plant bananas to act as a shading and it is brilliant idea... At napansin ko po sir Dexter wala po kayo nilagay na steel bars in the walkway of breeding pen, its only a concrete, kpag tumagal po yan sir magkakaroon ng mga cracks. Thank you
You are a natural farmer no doubt about that. In future you need to have some place to stay for visitors. Because I think a lot of people wants to visit your farm.
You're really right Roy. One teacher asked me If he could bring his students to the farm and i said soon if i can finished all what is needed to be done. What i have in mind was the place where to entertain them.
Hi Sir Dexter!! Because of your success in farming, I'm really happily encouraged to take on the challenge in farming.. I've been watching your videos since then and so nice to learn a lot from you about organic farming..
You are great. God continue to keep you strong and going from success to success. I like farming. You really motivated me to go back into farming. God bless your farm, you and your household 🙏🙏🙏
Probably it would be better to place those cut off banana leaves on the GI roof. or pulled tall grasses as well.. it can ease down the heat effect coming from that metal roof.
It's definitely always a challenge when you deal with animals!! I'm sorry you had to go through some of this.. but I love your honesty and you figured out a way to improve it and make it better for the future! Planting the trees was brilliant and I know it was a lot of work but there's definitely lots of benefits!.. I think it's very exciting that you can retire at 55...haha I am the same age as you 😁 through your hard work and these lessons you have become very wise and you will continue to make your dream come true! God bless you, your family and all your workers that help you!! You are in our prayers 🙏❤️
I find with turkys they are best in pens with half the run covered rpof half open so they dont get wet when it rains. Plus keeping them moved onto good ground and never on the same ground too long and rotate them through a series of pens until the first pen has recovered its grasses. 😁
Hey Dexter, all those galvanize will turn your coops into an oven. Maybe something like BRC wire will be better because you will have better air flow through it. Take Care.
Hi Dexter, I also have some chicken in my backyack. Before bring the chicken I already have plantain and banana in there. The chicken pecked through the plantain and banana plants and also ate their leaves. So to provide shade I planted mango and coconut trees for them. And I had to fence off the plantain and banana to save them. By the way my breed of chicken is Rhode Island Red.
Suggestion if I may, paint the galvanized steel white, will reflect much heat rather than be like an oven roasting chickens. No pun intended. Could add reflective foil as well, radiant heat could be part of problem. Thank you for sharing so much!
At least today i watch before 30 minutes after uploading, thanks for sharing the knowledge more love ❤️from Kenya 🇰🇪Africa 💪💪you have motivated me and am already started with 5hens 🙈🙈1cock hopping soon to have more
Dexter, brother, you are on fire with everything that is going on in your farm. And those chicks 🐥 are soooo cute. Yeah, can’t wait to see your baby 🐐 goats sometime in the future.
I am very inspired. I would like to have rhode island red as well. Hope one day, i can buy some of your chicks. Keep on sharing your tips. Im sure there are thousand viewers who loves watching your videos. Thumbs up. Watching here from general santos city😊
Hi from Guyana I am always inspired by your videos especially the videos on the Bettas I have so many sucess in breading and selling of my Bettas to my friends thank you so much you truly inspire me
I wish you all the best. The farm is looking great and your property is beautiful. The banana trees will provide you with a income to help you maintain your farm.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I enjoy watching you're videos they are informative and encouraging. Abundant blessings to you and your family.
Suggestion make the roof a light plastic or bamboo roof. bigger net like old fishing net helps also instead of the green. Let also 20cm under the roof all around open, u can make some bamboo sticks in between. That helps with the air flow. also make some sitting sticks in one lenght where there can sleep. The ammonia is heavier then air and sits on the ground. The sitting sticks help them better to brief. Maby u can use some of my tipps. I really like ur videos!
To minimize mosquitoes and other insects, plant lots of Malunggay/moringa and lemon grass all around at 2.5 to 3 meters apart. Some farmers say snakes hate Lemon Grass, too. Cassava at boundaries are to keep rats busy only at boundaries.
Thanks for sharing your farm journey with us Dexter ..I hope once the travel restrictions are lifted my wife and I can return to our own farm in Isabela and we can start to work on our own projects, raising chickens goats pigs and Talapia ..
Thank u dexter I am enjoying to view your upload for about farming to educate and study some of your tips it may be soon when I go back in the phils I want to continue to subscribe and view u and I have to learn more a lot from u thank u so much god bless u
Sir may napanood po ako na seminar sa youtube ni Dr. Beltran. Yung housing daw dapat east to west yung orientation para maiwasan mababad ang buong area sa sinag nang araw. Thanks for sharing your inspiring videos sir.😊
14:18 You are correct, sir. We Americans love our turkey meat. Not just as a traditional Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years Day meal, but even in our daily lunch sandwiches. Yum :)
I love the way you and your staff, take care of all the animals. I'm from Texas and we love Turkey meat. At our state fair, Turkey Legs, are a best seller.
Great to see your progress to date. You have achieved more in practice than myself but I do have a good background in animal science/husbandry. Your video showing blocking the evening sun with a drop-down tarp made me think immediately that the pen was aligned wrongly. As you are no saying it should be east to West in the length. That's good. However, planting trees in front will also block necessary ventilation. All pens in the tropics should be aligned east-West. And the zinc plates at the back is definitely not helping. That pen is better to dry fodder to feed later to your animals so all is not lost. Previously, I also suggested that the front of the nest boxes should be lower but I still see the high walls all around the front of the laying boxes, so maybe you have not seen that post. I am here to help if you find it in Your heart to hear. As always, Respect to you.
I really love your channel..Thanks for sharing, exactly what I've been looking for all these while.. I'm an upcoming farmer watching from Nigeria.Thank you once again.
you're an inspiration to us aspiring farmer, keep up the good work sir. well done. my only criticism though is that those chicken breeders that you have doesn't look like a Rhode Island Red as you claimed but rather a chicken from Sasso or Hubbard company. mabuhay po kayo...
You need a lot of air flow. The metal wall is blocking the air flow into the coop. Install ceiling fans....sit in the stall for awhile and see if it's comfortable for you. If it's too hot for you, it will be too hot for them.
Great job Dexter, we are in the same boat the farmers. I always watch your video. Keep it up bro, you are inspiring others. Go go.. future retirement will be so bright
In Jamaica to help prevent heat you can place a slim stick near to net section horizontally, so the hen can stand and cool off .The zinc caused alot of heat
Nice shirt sir dex.... Very simple yet inspiring... I'm watching most of your videos starting from goldfish/mollies farming/breeding up to this moment... I am very inspired cause this is my dream as well to have my own farm...
Good job Dexter! Kudos to your youtube channel. I'm an avid fan of yours. Very inspiring and interesting channel indeed. God bless you and your family. Give my regards to everyone especially to my cousin Jeck-Jeck! God bless!
Hello Dexter I am very inspired on how you do your farm. Someday if we can be home in Philipines I will follow you. Thank you very much for all the videos, I learn so much. Hopefully Covid 19 will gone I hope, so we can be home. We are stock here in New Zealand. Take care and keep safe.
Sir dexter, good morning.. Watching here from Taiwan.. Sir dex, I see that you have used the galvanized walling for your breeding pen, that's why your chicken got heat stroke.it can only covered them from direct sunlight, but not from tremendous heat..and there's no more air to flow in n out.. Try to see again your chicken coop...tc n godbless you sir..
Sorry for the losses Dexter I'm glad you caught it before you lost too many! In my case if I'm not making mistakes it means I'm not doing anything LOL! Just one tiny thing though about having a farm that's hard work not retirement! Not saying it's not good work but it's hard work that's for sure you have so many ideas I think you'll do better working for yourself than you ever did working for someone else. Yes , we eat a lot of Turkey in the USA low cholesterol they grow SUPER fast to. They aren't like your heirloom varieties though those can take care of themselves for the most part the American ones are so big that they can't even reproduce on their own anymore. Those heirloom ones are a lot better for sure may not grow as fast but have an excellent flavor, know how to take care of their babies & are able to set on their own eggs. P.S. OMG you have some super nice looking orchids next to your tomatoes those were my first interest in exotic plants love them!
Dexter, do you ever get fruit fly stinging the fruit of your tomatoes? I live in Singapore and I have to place nets around the plants while the fruit are still very small, or else I lose almost everything. The fruit fly (oriental or Malaysian varieties,) sting the plant to lay their eggs inside the fruit. The eggs hatch and the maggots munch their way through the fruit, so it begins to rot and falls off the plant before it even ripens, properly. Nets with holes small enough keep the fly away while the fruit ripens, but that also means no more flowers get pollinated, as the nets also keep out pollinators. I then have to pollinate by hand to get anymore fruit. When a fruit has been stung, there is a black dot left behind on the surface of the fruit.
hi sir dexter i have suggestion maybe you can re modify your breeding pen you can remove this galvanize gi sheet inside and replace it with some plastic nets or bamboo sticks because this gi shet will emit more heat during sunny days and it is also one factor why you got stroke birds
Bro I'm from Manipur North East part of India. After watching ur videos, motivation comes to my mind now I will leave my job n start farming as u do😍😍😍😍

Everytime i watched your video i really amazed how they grow and now to many animals i hope 1day i
can visit your farm.
Am greatly inspired Dexter. God bless you and I hope to reap more from your videos in future.
Thanks for sharing your farm journey with us Dexter ..I hope once the travel restrictions are lifted my wife and I can return to our own farm in Isabela and we can start to work on our own projects, raising chickens goats pigs and Talapia ..

God bless you, Dexter. I am learning a lot. And you are keeping it real. Thank you.
Sir may napanood po ako na seminar sa youtube ni Dr. Beltran. Yung housing daw dapat east to west yung orientation para maiwasan mababad ang buong area sa sinag nang araw. Thanks for sharing your inspiring videos sir.😊
You are doing great Dexter!! I'm watching in the Caribbean 😁
Hi! You are a true motivator as well as good teacher!
At our state fair, Turkey Legs, are a best seller.
your amazing sir dexter like all your vedeo & learn lots of it. can you share the feeding guide & the name of feeda ypur using. tnx & God bless...
As always,
Respect to you.
I really love your channel..Thanks for sharing, exactly what I've been looking for all these while.. I'm an upcoming farmer watching from Nigeria.Thank you once again.
Your doing a Great job Sir Dexter!
Integrated Farming is my future plans as early as possible.

God bless your plans Ednel.
Hi from California México. I all the time 👍👍👍 your videos. Thanks for your time with this nice videos.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
small scale farm with big results..congrats Dexter
Sir Dexter. Thank you for inspiring. A lot of lesson I learn from your farm. I would say that you are a great teacher.
you're an inspiration to us aspiring farmer, keep up the good work sir. well done.
my only criticism though is that those chicken breeders that you have doesn't look like a Rhode Island Red as you claimed but rather a chicken from Sasso or Hubbard company.
mabuhay po kayo...
Today I spent full day watching your video, very excellent , you are the best ever .I am Lucky, thanks U tube also, and thanks Googles
We are following you and learning things from you. Thanks for sharing.
galing mo talaga sir dex..... salamat sa marami mong na e share... in future gusto ko ring pasukin ang.ganyang gawain... god bless sir
Very impressive and inspirational talk. Thank you Dexter. good work
YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION .GREAT JOB KUDOS !

Thank you so much!
I love watching you and learning your knowledge of chickens and rabbits your farm looks awesome
God bless!
Great job Sir Dexter. I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel. Very helpful and informative.
Thanks for your honesty
Sir dexter, good morning.. Watching here from Taiwan.. Sir dex, I see that you have used the galvanized walling for your breeding pen, that's why your chicken got heat stroke.it can only covered them from direct sunlight, but not from tremendous heat..and there's no more air to flow in n out.. Try to see again your chicken coop...tc n godbless you sir..
Your English is so stilted, it’s actually rather charming.
I have to thank you , for your nice words
Nonetheless, the thought , ideas, clarity and learnings are almost perfect;) you are an idol Dexter:) godbless;)
Welldone fixing problems not easy farming in hot climates. Id love to fly out and help you.
Lols thanks Andrew. Just by posting this comment you have already lifted up my spirit. You have helped me already.
Hi Dexter, keep it up , you are very hard working and energetic person, if I ever visit phillipines I will love to meet you and visit your farm
Hello max... yes its the wild orchids common in our place, thanks for always being there.
pareho tau sir preparing earlier even at my late 40s pa...i am studying now this free range chicken for healthier life.
Ok dexter! I have been watching your videos, they very informative and encouraging. Keep it up hope see your farm. Tnks.
Multipurpose farmer. Thank you for the great training and work
Dexter, do you ever get fruit fly stinging the fruit of your tomatoes?
I’m sorry you lost your hens 😢, You come across as a loving and caring person and I’m sure that bothered you a lot
i really appreciate ur ef forts. and u speaks very nicely... stay blessed .
hi sir dexter i have suggestion maybe you can re modify your breeding pen you can remove this galvanize gi sheet inside and replace it with some plastic nets or bamboo sticks because this gi shet will emit more heat during sunny days and it is also one factor why you got stroke birds
Bro I'm from Manipur North East part of India. After watching ur videos, motivation comes to my mind now I will leave my job n start farming as u do😍😍😍😍
