Hello Dexter my friend! Always glad to see you're doing well! Wow the garden and the fish look beautiful!I love the renovations!! You may already know this but sometimes with the chicks it could be the actual temperature of the incubation that for some reason causes the chicks to be in a bad position in the eggs or another reason maybe a lack or a deficiency of riboflavin? This may not be your issue but it's something I've seen before! It's also good, maybe, to rotate your hens letting one group free range without actually breeding to give them a break! We have divided our hens up. One group breeding the other group resting and rotate them if you can. Sometimes it could just be that the hens are not fully mature yet!like I said I'm no expert it's just something I have kind of learned on my own! I love seeing the monkey and the dogs. I enjoyed all the updates on your farm. And God will continue to bless you and I believe you will see your dream come true! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day! Much love, prayers and blessings my friend!!♥️🙏🙏🙏

Hi Sir Dexter. Yung mga deformed na chicks ay dahil na rin sa genetics. Maaaring nagkaroon ka ng inbreeding. You can still improve your breeding pen by removing the GI sheets at the back and change it with bamboo or wood panels. Even the GI sheets inbetween pens can be changed with bamboo to improve air circulation.
Hi Dexter Im from INDIA, First of all Congratulations 💐💐 for your growth and really it's come with lots of hard work. There are 4 request. 1. Share your farm location, on all social media channels. Hello brother I'm one of the your subscriber I watch your videos regularly. You have knowledge of hen, duck, fish, plants etc or setups and farming can u make a video of pigeon.
Thank you Dexter for these wonderful videos you uploaded, it is so much beneficial for those who wanted to setup their own farm in the future like me. Your works really inspires us a lot Sir! Kudos to you and more power!!
@Dexter's World. You might consider fermenting the hens and chickens food. I started fermenting my ducklings and chicks food, using Stone Cut Rolled Oats, people usually cook for breakfast or to make into muesli. Just soak the rolled oats in water, antil water is absorbed, then I added apple cider vinegar with the mother, or vinegary kombucha, water kefir or whey from Milk. All ferment starters seems to work the same. Stir starter into soaked rolled oats well, cover with cloth to keep out insects, then store in a dark warm place stirring 1 or 2 times a day, AFTER ONE DAY, SOAK MORE ROLLED OATS IN WATER, after two days or so depending on warmth, the fermented rolled oats will look cooked. WIth no heating or cooking. Scoop out enough fermented food for the chicks, leaving about half the ferment, and add the oats you have soaked since one day, stir well, with the half left fermented porridge, tomorrow this will be ready, and again take half for chicks and save half each day, and start soaking more rolled oats for tomorrow. Approx measurements 1kg of dry rolled oats, to 2 or 3 tablespoons of started I mentioned above. Also add apple cider vinegar to water daily, hens lay particularly well with ACV drinking water, and chicks and ducklings grow faster,
I stumbled onto your site through your breeding bettas video. You are a very good role model for many young people! By young.. i mean anyone who is willing to learn and follow your ambitions wheather it is one or all your intricate farming techniques. Bye the way.. very easy to make cheese from your goats after the kids are weaned. You can milk them for a long time till you need to breed again. Have you thought of worm farms for your fish and chickens, with all your "naural fertalizer" you have available? Your fertility of your eggs i dont think is the issue. You seem spot on there. Look at the hatching system. Rotating, humidity, ect. Candling might help speed up your discovery of your issue. Im not of your climate. Im from Maine, USA. God is watching over you! You will find the problem. RRs have fertility average 95% and above by my exspence. You are waiting a while before you set your eggs to hatch? I always rested them 1 week before i set them. RRs do have good brooders so think of natural hatching if it fits your farms system. I found that the more natural everything is, the more successful everything turns out. God did his work right and good! Good luck! 😉😊😇😇
Sir Dexter, may I recommend that you mark the eggs from each breeder with a different mark so you can check next time if your eggs not have chickens, perhaps I,D. the problem with one rooster or several hens that are no longer producing chicks.
I've observed that breeders that range produce good quality of chicks. Godbless sir. Keep it up. Place check your chicken if its production red or Hubbard. Sasso many are doubt about the color.
I love your plants so beautiful. I am in the U.S.A so not sure about your seasons but I find the fertility rate can decrease late in the season because its natural for nature not to have new offspring going into the cooler season. The deformed chick and low hatching rate can also be a temperature or humidity problem in the incubator.
Hi Dexter, love what you are doing. One thing, in Australia your chickens are called Isa Browns, not Rhode Island Reds. RIRs look very different. But the good thing about Isa Browns is that they are a very popular breed because they lay the most eggs. Your chickens look very healthy and happy. Keep it up.
With a low hatching rate and deformed/weak chicks that is probably due to the incubator. You need to candle the eggs periodically to confirm fertility, and pull all the eggs that aren’t fertile as they can explode and if that stuff gets on the other eggs, it can infect those eggs. If you aren’t candleing, then you can’t be sure that the issue is the fertility of the chickens.
Dexter add wood ash to your bedding to kill mites and fleas also give birds course sand or fine stone for better food conversion and If stones have calcium the eggs will be strong. Good luck love what you do
Hi Dexter.... iam from arunachal pradesh (India)..... my turky is giving egg and i don't have incubator..... please provide me idea for hatching turky egg...
I really appreciate your information sharing and connecting to people and animal can you allow me to become partnership with you at my place .. you have to guide us instruct us..
It would be pretty neat if you planted a Vanilla plant to grow over the top of your Koi pond. Not sure if you guys do this or not but giving a little cracked soy bean is pretty good for helping build back up hens. Might save the farm even more money to if you were to invest in a feed grinder you can use it for pretty much any whole grain that they'll eat the good ones are sort of expensive but as much poultry as you're feeding it would likely pay off quickly. . I'm not saying that's what's wrong with your hens by the way just something that came to mind when watching the video. Good that they are getting two weeks everyone needs down time our feathered friends included. As always love the show and God bless you.
Fertility starts with the breeders but doesn't end there. Temperature and time eggs are stored before placing in the incubator is just as important. Turning the eggs a couple times a day, and keeping them from excessive heat or cold pre incubation for instance. Next is the incubator temperature and humidity. My guess based on where you live is the eggs are getting too hot pre incubation, or the average heat/humidity in the incubator is too high. That's where the deformity stems from most likely.
What happens to your animal’s waste products/old bedding materials, Dexter? Do you compost? Would be very useful for your plants! And would add back to the land your animals live on. Your soil will end up being so fertile!
Do you use a shampoo with natural insecticides, Dexter? Ecto parasites (on outside of body) can play a big part in reducing their body condition and health. When you are always striving to provide an improved life for your animals, you will always be the best type of ethical farmer! We should always do our best for our animals, domestic or livestock!
