In this video, I'll show you how I revived a free riding mower generously provided by one of my viewers. This machine initially appeared to be in great shape, but upon closer inspection, I discovered hidden issues, particularly a no-spark problem and an engine that wasn't mounted any longer, creating a host of other issues.
During this tutorial, I'll take you through the step-by-step process of diagnosing and fixing the no-spark issue. Instead of waiting for a costly replacement part, I opted for a more budget-friendly solution, where we meticulously repaired the damaged wires on the Kohler Command engine's coil. I'll demonstrate the cutting, splicing, soldering, and heat shrinking techniques we used to bring this unit back to life.
Of course, we didn't stop at just the engine repair. We also give this machine a thorough cleaning with a pressure washer and a foam cannon, using a powerful degreaser to remove years of accumulated grime, oil, and grease.
Once the engine is up and running smoothly, we'll securely attach it to the frame using M8-1.25 x 20mm bolts, getting it ready for sale or further use. After all the hard work, we bid farewell to this piece of equipment within 24 hours, thanks to its refreshed state, including fresh gas, sharp blades, new oil, and cleaned-up factory wiring. The time of year is really important on this sale and time frame due to summer ending and fall on its way in.
