Young Concert Band - Grade 3
Rarely does a blockbuster movie include a soundtrack that becomes such an important element of the film itself. With songs from character Peter Quill's “Awesome Mix” here is a dynamic medley for band that features the Marvel Studios Fanfare, Hooked on a Feeling, Come and Get Your Love, Groot Cocoon (lyric theme from the score), Cherry Bomb, and Ain't No Mountain High Enough.

This is the last song that I'm playing in middle school band, and the last song our director plays before he retires. We play tonight. Wish me luck.
Dity Dan how did it go?
How tf do you do this in middle school band
Project I'm doing it in middle school too
So am I, but we get like two weeks to learn it before our final concert and our new director is awful :(
Same our band has only two weeks and I'm on drum set and its stressful because I'm scared I'm gonna mess up
the drum set part is the most fun I've had in a musical environment
I just play the part and make it sound better than it is written😂
I can still hear my trumpet friend telling me to take cherry bomb faster XD
It’s tons of fun but I made it harder for myself because it is simple despite speed
We had a drum set but I played the base drum part of the drum set because the drum set guy couldn’t do all of the parts that fast
I agree with you friend. Its very nice part 😃I will play in my city band😉
the saxophone solis are so fun i swear
Hannah Milhet fr lol
FR
Except the bari part in “cone and get your love” is annoyingly difficult

Where are all my fellow band nerdies at?! (At least that's what they call us according to the non-band people...) We're playing this piece this year in summer...
Over here they call us bandos.... But hi though!!
Reporting for duty!
Yoooooo
Excuse me but the term is "bank geek"
We're just called band kids
hooked on a feeling and aint no mountain high enough
Love this when we played in band!!! Trumpet anyone?!?! 🎺
Wazzup Trumpet buddy? 🎺
Me tooo it’s great
Trumpet and tuba duet are amazing
Yes!
Percussion
seeing how everyone is loving their own instruments' parts, i too wanna say that i loved my part(trumpet)
yes I love playing this on my French horn
This song is amazing to play on the trumpet
Sticky Bunchy Trumpet for da win!!
Ayyyyy
I found another member of the phandom that plays the trumpet!!
When your in middle school and the teacher tells the trumpets to play louder
The Trumpets: AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH
probably how you play your instrument'
I love how the flutes and some other instruments play the most complex music ever and the brass is just sitting there playing the easiest melody ever.
We have a tongue 3 valves and a slide to work with
@@Aduysvmncmkouyf you still can play complex music dude
Also to respond to main post allot of the notes are really easy and except a few parts a middle school player would have no trouble playing
It's just the counting which I guess can be difficult but doesn't take much time
brass instruments especially French horn are like 50x harder than woodwind. i play French horn and clarinet so i know how easy woodwind is compared to brass
It's obvious that you don't play any instrument
@@broomlord8557 i agree woodwind is difficult but it’s mainly counting not the notes

SOMEONE PIN THIS COMMENT
I know its been 2 years and I know 2 people have already corrected but...
The first and last are Marvel Studios intro/logo/theme of phase 3
When everyone is saying they play saxophone, flute, clarinet or trumpet and you're just looking for that one bass clarinet buddy... :((
i'm here . 😌 no need to feel sad bass clarinet friend .
ayyyyeeee
Ayeee Bass Clarinet right here
Andrew Vu right here!
me too friend
I hate it when arrangers think flutists have infinite lung capacity... -_-
I know exactly what you mean, like when they expect us to be able to hold the high A for six 4 4 bars without breathing personally I feel like I'm going to pass out
Literally its sub divided, flutes arent supposed to play all that. thats why there are rests in there...
Or you could stagger breathe .-.
No, you dont need to stagger breath. You can literally see the rests above some of the notes.
Well they don't really have a whole lot of time to breath in between. It doesn't matter if there are rests, you can't get a super good breath in.
This is literally the best 1st trumpet part for any movie soundtrack ever
5 years later ik, but in case you see this, I have to share that epic 1st trumpet with 4 other people. :(
The trombone parts on this are so much fun to play! My band teacher is having us play this again as a “seniors select” song in my high school and despite not having as many people in class to play it with it’s still one of the best songs we’ve gotten to play
Ah, yes I played this music to my ears. THIS piece got me introduced to the Guardians
Was gonna play this and Pixar movie magic but corona was like “no I don’t think you will.”
Karvz I feel :(
Pixar Movie Magic is great. Hope you get to play it in the future
Update: we’re now doing both for this year’s spring concert 😄
@@karvz1 concerts are still cancelled for me :(
yeah womp womp
THE FLUTE PART IS SO HARD no one can divide properly so I’m just gonna be the one to do both parts 😀
HONESTLYYYYYYY I got both the picc and flute parts and I'm currently working on cutting the music apart and making it into a coherent single part and it hurts lmao
I play flute there are only 6 keys we have to play for the first page and it’s not hard fingering so it’s actually pretty easy as long as you have good enough breath
no its not you just suck
Bro where are my trombone buddies!?! We have some sick melodic parts!
The Nest IKR!
TROMBONES FOR LIFE
RIGHT HEREEEE🙋🏽♀️
YES SIR
IM HERE
i am obsessed with the flute part! its so cool! so glad i'll be playing it!!!
We're playing this for our spring concert and I just absolutely love how it transitions from Ain't no mountain high enough to the marvel fanfare at the end. Its one of the smoothest transitions I've heard so far and I just love how perfectly the song flows.
This song is truly amazing, because e m very part gets something cool to play somewhere, and I just looove the horn part towards the end of Ain't no Mountain High Enough with the 16th note groups that slur upwards. It creates a nice chord, and really just brings out some power behind the song. Simply amazing, now, hopefully my band director doesn't cut this piece, because it's too good to pass down.
Hii!!! Thomas!
I’ve been thinking the same thing about the horn part! Makes me want to play horn.
@@zmanrockz6358 hearing it definitely makes you want to play it, but actually playing it is hell. props to any other horn players who can, high notes arent my thing
@@molleymay03 uff were going to play that, now I am afraid
you'll be okay! just make sure to tune and prepare your mouth beforehand
my school band is playing this for our next concert, everyone in band class loves this song
I play this at my concert in a few days!! I'm a clarinetist
Wish me luck!
Good luck!
Tiggster2005 ummmm are you dumb

Man, that Trumpet solo though.
Beautiful.
1:18 is literally my favourite part! I am playing this all on loop and am in love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a flute player,
The beginning is hell. TOO MANY TRIPLETS! They are as fast as 16th notes. We can divide them out but it's not any easier. On top of that, we can't say "ooga-choka ooga-ooga", which is the best part.
Kitty Cat OMG! So true! It's killing me!
its way easier not to split them haha. when they switch up to the Fs i gave up and just missed the middle note but its kinda enjoyable haha
For clarinet 3 it’s the same.
The beginning part is really easy for me (clarinet 1)
Alli4279 not for me..
1:20
Can we appreciate how beautiful the bass clarinet part is!
I love it too when the flutes come in!
That’s tuba and bari sax mind you aswell
dont forget the big bari and tubular tuba
I think it's electric bass and bari
@@javinshafer8698tuba is there too it blends with the electric bass a lot
The flute part killed me. Could barely breathe
We played this in front of the whole school and I did the solo for the trumpets
I switched to tuba before we got this song or else I would have gotten first chair and worked for the solo.
We are playing this and I'm so excited. Last concert of mine. Senior 🎺
I played his as a 7th grader!
Dreaming The Day Away like honestly no one cares
@@RiddeGav just shut up
I play bari sax for this and I have so much melody it's so fun
This is the end of the year concert song and I love playing flute so much! It’s been such a journey and I’m so excited to play this at the end of the school year!
I love how they have percussion go full on in some songs, and how you get it from everyone in all the songs.
This is so fun to play (clarinet)
1st clarinet * (:
+Mallory Garcia I like playing the bass part, especially at Hooked on a Feeling.
+Mallory Garcia aww I'm playing 2nd clarinet for this
+Solar Sphinx same for 2nd it looks really hard
+Luigipro99gaming I'm not switching to third because
1. IM A BOSS!!!!!!
2. There's no point because we already got the song perfected and my concert is a month.
Currently playing this as clarinet 1. Pretty fun to play! (especially at around 0:33)
Same
As a bari sax player, I would like to say that I like the solo on Come and Get your love
ME TOO! I love playing bass lines on the Bari!
the flute part is annoying and fun at the same timeline
Eyiwunmi yessss
At 5:09 I love the French horn part it sounds so beautiful I wish I played this piece for my high school band
My band is playing this and I play horn but I cant reach the G 😭😭
@@kokichiouma4976 same bro
We are playing this in my band. I’m clarinet 2 and the beginning kills me :’)
Can anyone relate
omg sameee the b natural to d is so akward lol
Yes! I’m saxophone and I play that part too and I feel like I’m gonna die😅
I’m Clarinet 1 Lol it’s hard too
I’m a percussionist but I know that our clarinet section is struggling with that part
And or tuba and mellow can’t get the eighth notes at the beginning of cherry bomb
I loved this this piece because the tubas and bass clarinets have a really interesting part. Especially the baseline of “come and get your love” 💜
When your band is small and you only have 5 saxophones (1 bari, 1 tenor, 2 altos) 3 trumpets, a clarinet and 5 percussion. I’m the clarinet so I have all those wind parts alone and have to transpose some of the flute parts and just augh but I really like this song, we just started it this last week. But it’s stressful having a lot of mini-solos.
I'm going to play this for my final concert, I'm so excited to play this piece as a percussion!!
Angel Avendano What type of percussion? I'm curious.
When Coronavirus ends all your band performances, and because your in eighth grade, middle school band is over, and all you can do to besides cry is listen to your old songs
When high school band is better and more exciting
OOO MYYY GOOOOSH !!!!!!!!!! this is so awesome I wish we played this in my band
I played this almost 2 years ago in 8th grade and wow. Nostalgia overload
Fun on percussion
Go Percussion! I'm playing Low Tom and Suspended Cymbals.
+Abigail Post drumset 😁
+Payton Kelim bells
Tam-tam all the way boys
+Ian nah, trumpet is obviously the best
Played this in my band last year. I played trombone and my favorite part was the OOGA CHAGGA OOGA OOGA
SAMEEEE I was on 1st trombone and it was amazing. we picked this song as our 8th grade final concert piece last year
KuolDraco I couldn't play it because I'm playing during it 😔
SAME! I played this at summer band camp last year and it was super fun
amber corkey Ayyy first chair trombone gang 🤙
KuolDraco I never get to say it because I play :/ (flautist)
it was an honor to play this on trumpet. never saw the movie, but loved the score.
Great way to introduce an old band director's childhood songs to today's kids.
My marching concert for next year ^_^
same.
I'm playing at Disney with our band.
we are playing this in band atm and the flute part for the first page is so stressful
True I have to learn to play it too 😭
Same I was talking to a trumpet player and they were like no your part is easy we have it harder
IT IS SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS
+Synthevibes AN trumpet part is like the easiest... I have a clarinet and a trumpet and the clarinet p[art is much more difficult.
+Cheyenne Rockk OMG ikr I talked to my friend and I was like dude this is so freaking difficult and he was like wtf? this is so easy
I AM A TRUMPET PLAYER AND I LOVE THIS SONY
I’m a bassist and I’m playing sight reading this song! It’s so fun!
Da tuba part is the best!
damn, lucky brass buggers, getting all the damn good melodies. Meanwhile I am here chilling as a flautist doing what I do, keep burying my lungs further into my grave.
Playing this arrangement on the Bari sounds amazing! I get so pumped when I play it.
this was so hard a month ago and now in a month we have our concert and it is so good
2:09 as a clarinet i love this part with a passion❤️❤️❤️ it’s just so pretty
I’m kinda pissed that Groot Cocoon cuts off right before the good part.
that trumpet solo is awesome!!!
You think I can convince my band teacher that this is so Wind Symphony and not Jazz
This sounds such a fun piece :)
Wow. I just want to say that this piece is amazing. I'm thinking if pitching it to my band director to play at our final concert of the year. It highlights all the instruments at different sections and is such a charismatic piece. I must say that as bass clarinet player who doesn't get many interesting parts, this song will not only be a nice change of pace, but also a very fun piece that I don't think I'll ever get bored of.
Can you share me partitions(sheet music) and all partitions of all wind instruments? If you have that.
Pdf file
Played this for my first year in concert band in the 9th grade, I am now a University Senior. Shout out my Music teacher Ms. Lee
The Bassoon part is actually so fun, especially the beginning and the end
And where are my bassoon buddies? Like that song wouldn't even exist without a tenor line of players :/ (bassoon, euphonium/baritone, t. sax., alto clarinet)
Jackson Stone Here
Pokèmon Go THANK THE GOOD LORD!
Jackson Stone I play euphonium and trombone
finally, somebody with true heart!
Basson for life!!
I'm playing this song at my summer camp concert and learning this piece is a blast!!! At first I was super confused and now I love this piece!!! Edit: I'm a trombone player and I love how I get to play the melody!!!
The bari sax part in this is so damn fun
I played this spring concert my freshman year It was a very wholesome
On the flute,it's a pain in the ass at the beginning
Omg I know, it's so stressful
Same for alto sax :/
My f i n g e r s send help

Same for clarinet, but it's really easy for me
hooked on a feeling:
the song: *good tune with nice sounds and melody*
beginning of song: *ape sounds*
We just sight read this today in band!
I really hope we can play it for the spring concert bc this is an amazing arrangement
As a saxophone player I like ain’t no mountain high enough best part in the song
Fun on alto saxophone
I play this in concert band
Playing the solo for this :D (trumpet)
Playing this at our concert next week. Tough first trumpet part for me to tackle. Wish me luck.
I played this piece when I was in band. Played the flute part and trust me it took me a while to play it perfectly
I play the trumpet solo in this song!
Of you play it with enough pizazz, the trumpet part is one of the best parts
As a Bassoonist I love this piece finally a fun and good part for the bassoons
I love the intro
I have a tenor sax solo at goots cacoon lol
