Young Concert Band - Grade 3
Since 1995 when Toy Story was released, the creative team at Pixar Studios has given us heartwarming stories and unforgettable characters that appeal to audiences of all ages - and the music created for these films is an integral part of their popularity and charm. Michael Brown has created a terrific medley of these familiar melodies including: The Glory Days (The Incredibles), The Spirit of Adventure (Up), Ratatouille Main Theme, The Big Race (Cars) and You've Got a Friend in Me (Toy Story).

we were in earshot of the flutes the entire time during sectionals and the only thing they played was ratatouille
Hey that drum solo at 0:52 or 0:53 sharp af
Yeah, I like that solo
(Totally dont play it or anything......)
Its called a fill
it gives me goose bumps every time
What about that bell solo at 17:99
it makes me smile whenever i play it
I'm a flute and i love the ratatouille theme
Robyn King me too because horns actually get a tiny solo so
You're a flute? Cool! I'm a human! Never met a sentient flute before.
Sameeeeeee!
Lol I play the flute solo and it’s super fun
My band year with this was canceled because of corona
I’m going to play this during my spring concert, so as a percussionist I’m excited
We’re playing this for our award show
oh sweet. i want to get my band teacher to let us play this but he’s gotta buy it
i’m a percussionist and this was the most exciting song of our concert and the very last song we played it was so good
It was so fun!! I did it too as a middle schooler!
Cornerstone or nah
the flute part at 2:01 is so beautiful 😔😔
My band plays so well we get the most hardest songs to do. We had to play all these songs and more other ones by this composer. Love this composer so much thanks for supplying us with really good music.
Roller Coaster Central same Michael Brown is my favourite. Next year in convincing my band teacher to play this and this year were playing Guardians of the Galaxy arranged by him 😊
Ratatouille section is amazing
Literally nobody:
Nobody at all:
Me: *Listens to Ratatouille main theme played by concert band*
OMG WE GET TO PLAY THIS AT MY SPRING CONCERT
Same actually
SAMEEE
wtf? same.........
me too
Kyle Cipher nice I love this song
I'm a trumpet and I love the Cars bit. Though I'm sure the clarinets in our band hate it, since us trumpets are playing full-force into their ears...
Yo, I'm a trumpet too
@@abigailrixford5743 oh heck yeah! 🎺
Yeah my ears burn
I'm a clarinet, and YES
I played this when I was in middle school and now that I’m a part of the marching band, I see this probably the best song we played during my time
we would have played this, but COVID-19 was like, "no, i don't think you will"
f
It's a fun peice to play. Last year we got to play this. I play tuba and my band teacher told me to just play the baritone part at the beginning of the incredible thing.
Same! We also were going to do Marches of the Armed Forces, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Purple Mountain Majesties. I’m really sad.
Same man. I was on the drum set
Same man. I was a trumpet
Same
when they played up I almost died then it was followed with ratatouille then I died fr
Man that trumpet solo with cup mute is just on point
Hans Jørgen Holtet I know right? I get that solo for my challenge band and the sound of the mute is so pretty
Marelody Awesome. We have played "up" in my marching band, but i played saxophone when we played it. But i have recently started playing the trumpet, and I'm not so bad :)
Hans Jørgen Holtet if you don't mind me asking, what state are you in?
Given his last name, I would say: Sweden :-D
I loved the "Glory days", its been so long since the 2004 release of "The Incredibles"!
+Dusty Rose it's been 12 years
And??? Music has a big impact on people.
I feel old saying that
@@thekoopaguymk what about now….. it’s been 18 years now
I play alto sax and our band played this song when I was in 8th grade and every time we would get to cars i would get the chills
We had one sax at the time of playing this, and let me tell you that she did incredible during You Got A Friend In Me.
3:47 I love how it transitions into more of a jazzy chart!
Man I remember playing this song in middle school and as 1st trumpet getting the solo for Up, that was fire. As a marching band kid I see this as a memorable song as it helped my trumpet skills a lot
insane level of art. Pixar is flawless.
*-cars2
MiRaje8086 I loved Cars 2
James Dryden Me too
Spirit of adventure brings me serious joy
I get to play this in our high school band for the spring concert and it is really fun to play. Plus the cup mute trumpet solo and flute solos were awesome
Thank you for writing this piece Michael thank you for allowing me to make actual music‼️
I love the cars section so much
Kevin Hernandez me too! I'm trumpet
Literally the best part
Cars is da best! Music in that movie is incredible! (I promise, no pun intended with the incredibles)
The trumpet melody is so good
@@elizabethkidd4488 Cars is my favorite movie.
I wish I could play this in band, but we suck so I don't want my band to ruin this song..
Chris C same bro
Chris C My band got this song today and we are supposed to play for the elementary school with it. They butchered every part of the song. Even the ratatouille theme.
Chris C same here man
My band got it. The 10th-12th grade band couldnt play it, so he gave it to the freshman to try. We are doing better than them so yeh..
Chris C the eighth graders played this at my school. they played this at full speed almost perfectly
Y'all know everyone was disappointed when they got this piece and it didn't have Monsters Inc 🤣😭
As a bassist who played the tuba part for this song I loved this medley:)
We're playing this for our senior graduation. I'm on the set and this puts my skills to the test. But it sounds so good when I get it right. Love this piece!

The big race hit so hard almost like a freight train
I love how the opening sounds like an all star Pixar movie
I played this song my sophomore year of High school on the alto saxophone. I am a freshman in college now and still to this day, this is my favorite piece I played with my band. So many good memories, and what a fine tune!

Who else heard the flute breathe at 2:01?
Legobananaman 95 Ummm... they’re not allowed to breathe?
Addison Willis I'm not saying that im just pointing it out XD
Legobananaman 95 Yeah... When I first heard arrangements like this, I swore they were played using some magical computer or something. But yeah, if you listen closely, you can tell it is played by a professional band. It’s just flawless!
I heard it
Legobananaman 95 I heard it
When I get to high school, I'm going to ask my band teacher if we can play this. This is the greatest Pixar compilation I've heard!
My band and I played this. Imagine the stress I was in knowing I had many altos solos. Hard dedication and we ended up doing very well!
Played this 2 years ago. Pretty Fun.
1:52 I THINK I'M IN LOVEEEEE OMGG

@@luigibro3153 I MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ALTO SAX BUT I WAS A TENOR SAX AND THE SAX FAMILY IS MYCH BETTER THAN SOME MEEK LITTLE TRUMPETS 😂😂😂

Ratatouille has and always will be my all time favorite Pixar movie 😍
We are currently playing this for our spring concert right now and as a clarinetist I can say those triplets almost ruined me but I survived.
My band is playing this for our POPS concert! Im a bari sax and this is a pretty fun piece
the incredibles part gives me chills😫

I like that the flute has a short melody in the intro
This makes me miss my band days 😭

We are not playing this song, but Pixar movie favorites is what we are playing. The one I'm playing is WAY harder than this!
We're playing this with our orchestra. I play the drums. We're from the Netherlands, so hi!
Wies Van Delft nice
ive got percussion 2 role for this one. Pretty good parts in Rataouille main theme
NEDERLAAAANNNDDD
Kom je ook uit Delft zoja ik kom uit Schipluiden en speel ook drums wij hebben dit vorige zomer nog gespeeld tijdens de midden Delfland dag
Best part was Spirit of Adventure, much better than the original.
I agree!!
Especially when the saxophones took the melody. (But it in my school the Baritone and Tenor Saxophones play louder than the actual melody melody in the 1st Alto)
I got the trumpet solo, so fun to play!!!!!!!!
I play the Trombone I fit out in all the songs except for The Incredibles and Cars. I mean we don't even really play anything in Ratatouille.
I got the flute solo but I don't think I can sound as good as that.
I've played at least 4 times in various concert bands
0:31 *TOP SECRET*
Playing this on drum set for my high school graduation, little scared rn but I’ll figure it out 😤
Playing this for 7th grade band
We did the incredibles for marching band last year!!!
Anyone else feel incredibles could’ve been a bit faster?
Guy with a Sandwich nahhh it sounds flawless
@@alexvera7806 nah it sounds incredible
KrizpyBizkit I see what you did there
Noah Albrecht ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
NO. We're playing this for our concert in a few days and the drum set and tubas can BARELY keep up at this speed.
Played drumset for this peice and had the best time
I played this in the summer between 6th grade and 7 😫 I hadn't even been introduced to quarter eighth notes yet . But still fun to play
Richard Fields You played this at a 6th grade level?! But more importantly how did they not get around to teaching you sixteenth notes yet?
TUBA FTW
I don't play tuba. I play bass trombone which has the tuba part and i LOVE the tuba part.
Yee
I convinced my band teacher to let our band play this. And now I have the trumpet cup mute solo. I CRIED TEARS OF JOY WHEN I GOT HOME.
