The title 'Human Rights Commission' is a misnomer.
Actual human rights are rights that all humans have. Any legitimate human right organization would exist for the purpose of fighting for the rights of all humans without causing conflict between various groups of humans.
The so called 'Human Rights Commission is an lgbtqia+ group. Which is fine. People tend to form groups together with like minded people or people of similar circumstances and work toward their best interests as a group.
but that's not a human rights group. It's a special interest group. there's a big difference. There's noting at all wrong with special interest groups. But true human rights groups, and lawmakers and those who interpret and apply the law should be taking the rights of all humans into consideration and should be moderating accordingly. They're the ones that should be watching out for conflict of rights between the many demographic of people and should be solving those conflicts instead of creating them.

How? They don't want answers and solutions, arrogantly censoring and making money from bogus court cases.
The court case was essentially about MENS rights. The plaintiff has argued that Men have the right to claim women's rights and have access to all the rights associated with the female biological sex definition, he argues that by simply declaring he is a woman, he is a woman. The judgement made by the courts confirms that belief in law but the presiding judge clearly has a flawed understanding in what context the law was written and how it was meant to be interpreted...this is the very nature of poorly written laws, even those with good intentions.
This judgement opens the door to the end of female rights which includes the rights to demand biological born female doctor, female police or prison guard search pat downs at airports, female change rooms, toilets and the list just goes on.
It has deleted all women's rights in one and thrown the doors open to all men to exploit.
It is a sad day when the law can not be trusted to interpret a law as it was intended....

The law is an ass in this case and I feel it's my obligation to maintain a real democracy in my country by demanding this travesty be rejected.

The ruling was insane, how any judge can say that a man is a woman and should have access to women’s spaces is totally ludicrous. I really just can’t get my head around it when some claims he is a she, it’s such a flawed illogical untruth and I find it very distressing that so many people have been ideologically captured, lies being treated as truth comes before the downfall of a society. It's actually worse than just being a man is a woman. It's a male is a female. In Australia you can change your birth certificate, which doesn't have a gender marker but a 'sex' marker.

NZ's Law Commission "issues paper" is totally captured and there are trans people in women's prisons. But the law that protects women has not been changed yet and Sall has tipped us off. Tras won‘t stop until they have full legal access to any woman‘s space. If they were just a bit respectful towards women and their rights, they‘d have created own spaces long ago. They want full access! They know they are no women! I know they know, it‘s not about them believing they ARE women, 100% they know they‘re not!

SO true! I fled DV in NZ and now live safely in Aus but fear that if my ex changed his name to a female name he could come into Aus even with a criminal record for DV? If the guy I was with then knew he could walk into ANY female only safe space he would be in there ready to beat up on his woman. Unfortunately a lot of men are still like that and we have dark times ahead before anything gets reiterated. In Aus all my female friends are boycotting anywhere that demands that women have to undress in front of men like gyms and pools and not using dating websites. We are teaching girls to meet their friends in safe public areas where real men are around to protect them.

This woman is amazing. Bless you Mr Menno for standing with her. You know, I read H M Sealey's latest dystopian novel "Their Thoughts If Not Their Land" and I honestly thought her future scenario where a man could murder, then decide he's a woman and therefore not guilty because it wasn't "her" who committed the crime, was very, very far-fetched. Thanks for this Mr. Menno! This kind of blows my mind that this is happening! I’m 42 years old and am lucky enough to live in the Swedish countryside. People here are old school! This is not our world at all. I’ve never been asked about pronouns or had to deal with a man in the women’s toilet. It’s so sad that my fellow women have to deal with this, and men trampling over women like this! It should be somewhat of a relief to know that not everywhere has gone this mad…..but this is just unacceptable!!! Thanks for standing up for women and also gay people everywhere because this definitely is the new gay conversion therapy! The women and the gays need to band together on this! 💪🏻
Norway here, and so far I've been lucky as well. Never encountered a man in women's spaces or asked to use any specific pronoun, but I am afraid this madness is right around the corner here too.

I loved what Sall said towards the end about the importance of making more people aware of the truth of this issue. Most people aren't fully informed and they believe it's all about protecting trans people from discrimination. The only good thing to come out of all this is that I have had the chance to aquaint myself with some of the loveliest people, like Sal and you Mr Menno. Went to the &Juliet musical in Sydney and saw a poster on the female toilet's door inviting anyone who identified as a woman to use that bathroom. There was no poster of this sort on the male toilet's door.

This and the lax control on mass immigration were why I voted SDP in the recent general election. My MP, Hilary Benn, is a tolerable Labour MP, but it doesn't matter who your MP is as you vote for the party that speaks for you. The test said Conservative, but Margaret Thatcher sold off many public services and recent Conservative government don't care about the damage they are doing to the NHS or Local Authorities so long as their investors get a cut in the coffers, thus mass immigration and international aid get too much of what's left and little to support what really matters - our health's and our environments.
Basically women were only fully human in Australia from 1984 to about 2020.

Good to be pointed towards the documents from the court proceedings. I’ve only just started reading these and already finding them bizarre. They are literally taking the nonsensical conclusions of saying men can be women, and arguing that they actually support the case for men being women.
For example, No 35 of the submission from the Sex Discrimination Commissioner seems to be saying that since a woman is protected from discrimination for potential pregnancy, and potential pregnancy includes expressing a desire to be pregnant, a “trans woman” is also protected from discrimination for potential pregnancy. Therefore a “trans woman” is a woman.
This is why trans activists usually refuse to debate.

Love to you both! That was my favourite Sall interview yet, as I understood a little better about the ruling. I donate to the giggle fund whenever I have a little to spare and I hope everyone who can, does as well. We need Sall to win this. I’ve been self excluding from places since things got stupid here in Melbourne and I want that to be over. I’m also of the opinion that if you’ve fallen for this ideology, I can’t trust you with anything else - and that’s coming from a vegan who doesn’t push away meat eaters, or those that have different political views, both of which I have very strong views on.

It hurts so much to realise how little women's rights are regarded - how the Australian govt (among others) truly don't give a shit about women and girls' safety. It is truly abysmal that they talk weasel words about VAWG, but then on the other hands destroy any actual safeguarding with the removal of women's ability to identify themselves legally.
It's very annoying, especially when it is actual women in government, public service and academia who are cheering on this misogynistic movement. It isn't just the government either. The Sydney Morning Herald has been rabbiting on all year about the 'epidemic' of violence against women in Australia, then it publishes a cartoon depicting J.K. Rowling - herself a victim of domestic violence - as the loser in a boxing match against a man.

This was an amazing conversation between you two. Sall has really been a trooper going through this (ridiculous) trial and even though legally she lost, I just hope that she realizes that her refusal to back down from these entitled men is inspiring t and helps give out that hope and drive to continue fighting back against this male entitlement takeover of women only spaces. The thing that really got me was when Sall rebuttal question to "Why can't you just accept these men as women" to which she responds with "why can't these men accept that they aren't women?". As an overtly feminine presenting man myself, I really try driving this point home myself when I critique these men that if it really does come down to just wanting to dress and style yourself in a certain way (and it not being driven by fetishizing the body of a woman - you know if you know -), you don't have to be a woman to do it (and being a woman is not about fashion neither).
Anyway great talk and for Sall, I hope she continues to fight for what she believes in as I'm sure it's safe to say that she's got our support tenfold.

There is a common confusion around the UK Equality Act 'exemptions'. Nobody has to apply or ask for special permission to use an 'exemption' because they are not exemptions they are EXCEPTIONS. The EA says discrimination is unlawful EXCEPT in the following circumstances ... a, b, c etc. Basically it just sets out when it's lawful to discriminate. There are loads of exceptions throughout the EA, applying to all different protected characteristics and contexts - that's why it's such a long piece of legislation!
