I think PhasePlant is probably the most powerful plugin ever made. It can do all of this but is actually also a synthsuite. Shaperbox 3 is great though.

@@djorig PhasePlant allows you to use ANY KiloHearts plugin inside it, including volume shapers. But even if the volumeshaping isn't as in-depth without automation, if we're comparing functionality, there's a lot of other things it does that Shaperbox does not. It is a synth, a sampling sound-design tool, as well as being able to use pretty much any effect. Not that I'm shilling one over the other, I use Shaperbox a lot more than PhasePlant, but it's really an all-in-one solution without needing anything external, unlike Shaperbox, which makes it more powerful by default.
@@Arcessitor ok. I have phaseplant but I don’t own all the KHz plugins.
I only use phaseplant for synths and other sounds. Shaperbox is my go to for a lot of processing jobs. I’m excited about the new version.
The point of shaperbox is to do modulations to any signal, phaseplant wont be able to make an accurate piano sound for example. Both have their use cases and are best of the best at what they do honestly.
@@ssxyy Sure, but I never said they didn't have their uses. I'm contesting the claim of the "most powerful" plugin, which should go to the one with the most utility. That's not shaperbox.

I don't know your channel very well, but if you got the plugin for free or money or any other consideration it should be stated.
A high or low pass does the same thing, and it's a known trick actually, it's not special to shaperbox at all, but the awesome thing about that plugin, is that you can do tons of things only inside it

@@JohnKroon yeah, the god of, "get 1001 midi files"! When it is really 143 of the same files transposed to every key as if you can't press the up and down arrow in piano roll and transpose your self. I fell for these kind of marketing tactics from him twice, including the add-ons. I got a refund as advertised and he banned me plus removed my email. 🤣

I don’t really understand the setting , I mean, this is a perfect tutorial but sadly I don’t have the same DAW to actually follow exactly every step (setting the sidechain etc ). I have FL :/
I don't have the sidechain option at the top of the plugin screen either. Using Cakewalk

YES! I have been waiting and waiting and the fact they finally added audio trigger has saved my life, having to manually do it with midi was a pain before but this has made life so much easier! Great tutorial and more importantly you made this clear enough a beginner could sort this out no problem! Its been on my agenda to make some videos for shaperbox, its truly unrivaled for creativity and such an amazing tool for many things! Unlimited potential!

Try Infiltrator 2 by Devious Machines as well. It's truly mind blowing. I use it on everything....

Triggering different filter shapes with midi is awesome. I do this with my other filters already with lfo attack release etc triggering. I get these same sounds though with my OB6 with live param modulation recording in!!!
Sometimes all these plugs take away from actual music making...ending up with the same sound you would have had if you just jammed it in
You just filtered out the transients. Without them humen can't identify what sound it is. Its apply to every sound. No transient No correlation!

I just bought it after watching this but I can’t figure out how to download it… Like I’ve done this a 1000 times but can’t seem to get it logged in 20 different times where do I go after I buy it on their site?
Do I need LFOTool from Xfer if i have ShaperBox3 ? Or do they both the same thing?

Same. I'm thinking there's little need for Kickstart2 now, unless I'm overlooking something. Maybe it's a little lighter on CPU and quicker, but I doubt by much.
Only bought the Volume Shaper, coz thought thers tons of other plugins iwanna spend cash on. To be honest i prefer using the free A1TriggerGate by Alex Hilton for most Sidechaining. It is my NR1 GoTo tool which is Invaluable used in every single project i make !!! But sometimes if i need something more dramatic i use Volume Shaper.

I love shaperbox, but I know I don't use it well enough. In bitwig, I would maybe use an FX container and a midi modulator to select from multiple instances of shaperbox (each with a different shape, as you show), but now it's easy to do it from within shaperbox. Thanks for the inspiration.

I use Duck By devious machines for audio triggering. This does for sure take that to the next level. I do think that Infiltrator is a much more powerful plugin all around though.
They have very little to do with eachother. Use them both massively for bery different things

Does anyone have any tips on how to side chain with midi on ableton? I was trying to use this time stutter effect for this chorus on a melody but I don’t know how to just activate it. I get it all side chained and get the note for it but it doesn’t work
