I still can't believe you don't have more subscribers.. This is the only channel that is actually putting out fresh content and not just uploading the same tutorial that 100 other people already made. Keep up the great work Zach!
Great thing about pitch imperfections is that it makes "flat" reverbs sound nicer. Those deviations from a single pitch (and associated harmonics) cause reverbs to sound more diffuse and smoother. I do it sometimes in a send fx chain, adding a little chorus or flange before the reverb.
@@tredfxman What's the clickbait? It's not that they are famous. It's WHY are they famous. And the why is that they do things differently to the others. Obviously luck and marketing has a lot to do with it but without the talent neither of those are any use.
nice video and I like the fact, that you picture how the concept less is more is very effective. I usually used to scram my projects with tons of FX and not having a well defined direction. Had to learn it the hard way, which means, if a synthesizer has a build-in distortion or LFO-Tool, don't add another one to the channel, because it messes up the sound in a very weird way. :D Thanks for that tutorial
automating the gain on the reverb instead of the send amount from the source sounds like a neat way of working with sends. I'm defo going to experiment with that.
yeah, the pitch fluctuations can really get a sound to become more alive. what i like most about them tho, is that you can also use vibrato as a timing humanizer, if you use a vibrato effect instead of serum's lfo attached to a pitch parameter. that can even liften up robotic percussion sections and at a low rate you don't perceive it as a vibrato
Big Z - can you do a video analyzing the synth sounds and production on Taylor Swift's song Bejeweled? #1 music video on UA-cam right now so you might get some algorithm buzz from it too. The synth sounds are super high quality and polished - would be interesting to understand how to recreate. The arpeggio synth has something special going on in the high frequencies that I can't put my finger on. Bass sound is really good too - can't tell if it's an 808 or something else. Lots of good ear candy. When she says "nice" the second time in the chorus there is something they're doing to the vocal to make it sound very satisfying and mixing in another sound that creates a massive lift. Curious to hear you give your take on it.
Man, I watch now a lot of production videos and I'm impressed of your style of explaining. You are so calming, natural and you have such a good way to transfer what you want to say. Thanks for making what you are make
Yoooo thanks so much for the headphones man😎 Your production and videos have helped excel my own and have kept inspiring me! Also you pronounced GeoVoc right :)
Hey Big Z, some of your tips are top notch! Could you do a video about your bussing thought process? I've noticed on other videos you have a Synth, Lead, Bass, drum verb bus, this kind of makes sense. Still I wonder why you choose that approach over say a small, medium and large reverb bus?
I saved this, hit the like button and I went to hit the subscribe button, only to discover I was already a subscriber. This isn't the first time one of your videos had me scrambling to subscribe.
Big Z has one of the most advanced / easy to follow tutorials! everyone stumblin across this chanell should be happy, beeing this lucky! thank you big z :)
Is there an option in Vital to make the LFO pitch imperfection ore subtle? I think the "smooth" option on the LFO is doing it but I want to be sure I'm right. I mapped LFO to the TUNE option in Vital as I think that's the right one?
What separates famous producers from everyone else? They had the dedication, talent and also luck to get where they are. And now they got time to work and experiment on music 24/7.
although you use another DAW as I do, your tips are valuable! and most of them i know how to convert to my fl studio. basics are the same but in different order and design xD thanks i already learned a lot from you videos. keep on doing!
Can you explain the bus thing again? When I route everything to a single bus and then I turn down gain on the bus it just turns the volume for everything down. What am I doing wrong? Thank you!
What Separates Famous Producers From Everyone Else: Attention To Detail - Add some light pitch Bends to your sounds - Don't make sounds too clean (subjective i guess) in this example Z saturated and bit crushed a sound slightly - Add Accent layers:
Pitch imperfections are hot right now but I’m willing to be they don’t be in a couple years. Rufus du Sol set the precedent for this sound imo and once that sound is too overplayed I think something new will replace that concept.
Big Z is hands down the best music production creator on UA-cam at this point. Extremely helpful, no annoying obvious repeat tips, very well explained and always very up to date on the reference tracks!
I'm a big Simon Servida fan but he's latest vids have become really stale n more like a vlog instead of being focused on music production... I think this is gonna be my new fav channel... You just gained another sub
Big producers make edm and get lucky with that one big hit and goes on from there. Smaller or unknown producers are making electronic music, which the mainstream crowd will not like.
You’re a machine my production game has step up a lot since I started watching your videos
great content! I agree on these ;)
Hey bro :)
Woo
Obscure producer K-391 do be learning how big producers do things 💀

Yes, why??
Respect big Z! also mercurial tones has some good stuff
I can...
It's my fault :( watching his videos without being subscribed so that youtube recommends more videos "like this". I'll fix it right away!
Every single video of yours is an inspiration! No fluff, just info. So good!
Thanks man, cheers from Germany

Same here, I use metaflanger. Got the idea from the wholeloops channel yrs ago
Big Z is going to be the next big thing.Every video is like pure gold
I know what separates them, one is famous and other is not
so true..!
True everyone needs a clickbait title. But the differance BigZ and other is that he can acually teach!
@@tredfxman it's not a clickbait a lot of beginner producers don't do that
good one

Love this! Espiecially the pitch bend trick. thanks for sharing!
Great video! love the bit where you show how to detune the note slightly to give it a less 'clean' sound.
This should bring you to 100k subs, this is insanely valuable info for producers at any level. Thank you!
As always, best channel!
