    Creating any type of health or weight change in the body has to start with self acceptance. I know a lot of us think that, 'accepting ourselves when we want things to change' feel like quitting, but I promise you that's not the case. I hope this explanation helps you to understand this more clearly. Would love to hear your thoughts down in the comments below. xo-Dani

      It’s exactly how I feel. Like, I’m obese, and I still have trouble accepting my body. I’ve always felt I was meant to be thin, but my bad habits and obesity always won. I’ve dreamt thin, and I even had a dream where I unzipped my fat suit. Thankfully, I cold turkey quit fast food April 27. It’s been 7 months. That and combining exercise has allowed me to lose 53 lbs. I accept now that I’m loving the gym, but my body is still not naked worthy lol

    This is just so true. I'm going on a cruise in December and I put all this stress on myself to lose weight. Went on a really strict diet, knocked my period out of whack, wasn't losing any weight. Just totally stressing.
    The second I just let it all go and accepted that I'm just going to be whatever I am, I started losing weight, got my cycle back on track, etc.
    If nothing else, the stress relief of just accepting yourself is a huge bonus.

    i feel that is why I have always struggled to lose weight. when i see other's ppl success stories, realize the one thing most of them have in common is that they seemed to accept themselves at their heaviest. they still lead social lives vs isolating or depriving themselves as I mostly do. I've struggled with self acceptance since my teens. Trying to break out of the negative ways I think has been hard but I still put forth the effort to try and change.

    Oh Dani! I beat myself up everyday because I've gained weight and I absolutely hate myself for it. I was always able to lose weight at the drop of a dime, but since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism four years ago, the struggle is real. I am on meds and it is somewhat under control but if I do drop 4 or 5 pounds then I tend to gain back seven. If you can offer any advice, I would be so grateful. I take whatever you say at face value, and your channel has been so enlightening for me. I might want to add that I am a senior with some arthritis issues, but I try to keep moving as much as possible. Luv you Dani, I think your great!!!!

      Hi Joyce. Ask yourself this, 'What would you do differently if you knew you would never gain or lose another pound?" How would you show up for yourself? What would you do the same and what would be different?

    • @HardeeQuinnDee
      @HardeeQuinnDee 6 років тому

      Sadly, with age, weight gain is more difficult. I also have hypothyroidism which I was excited to hear I had (sad, ain’t it?) because I thought I finally had a legit excuse why I was fat. Nope. It was bad eating.
      Just try to eat good clean food as much as you can. Veggies, fruits, and cut back your animal proteins. Or choose good lean ones.
      I think even if you gain weight, at least you can take pride in knowing you’re eating well for your innards,

    Being kind to ourselves and treating ourselves like we would our best friends and saying kind and gentle things to yourself isn't failure. It's acceptance that you're okay. It's not giving up, at all. It's building on your strength that you believe in yourself. From that place of belief that you are strong and capable you are then capable of doing many more good things for yourself. That's where you're coming from Dani, I know. I let myself get out of shape badly with bipolar disorder, way overweight and have prediabetes now. But have switched things around. Eating much better, much healthier options, going out for walks every day almost and just reminding myself on the bad days that I'm okay. I reaffirm to myself each morning "today is going to be a good day and I'm going to do my best today to eat right and exercise, if I can". A gratitude journal really helps too, with forcing you to write down that which you appreciate or love or cherish about the day forthcoming or just past. It's the positives shining through. Thanks for your wonderful videos Dani. You're a lot of fun to watch. I like your bloopers at the end of each video hehe :)

    Thank you for this video. This is exactly where I am at right now. Accepting me as I am right now and wanting to get healthy instead of skinny has really been showing me the reasons why I cling to food. Lost 12 lbs so far, have a long way to go but I am taking it slow so I can work on it from the inside out this time!

    This is a good and important topic to talk about unfortunately your viewers I feel won't fully comprehend and understand. They may say they do but the problems your viewers have with their relationship with food go far beyond what this video can fix.
    On a more lighter subject have you checked out kitchenaid new vegetable sheet cutter? It could be a great new series for you for new recipes. I like your channel, so I'm always happy to share.

    I cannot accept the fact that the diet cycle and bing eating cycle can be broken like I start my day with sport and a healthy breakfast but then along the day my cravings become so messed up and especially when I talk to people I go blank and eat unconsciously how to accept that fact ?

    • @CleanandDeliciousDani
      @CleanandDeliciousDani  7 років тому +2

      I get that it can feel really hard to do but be curious with yourself... How do you believe the self rejection serves you? How does NOT accepting yourself and your habits help you to change them? Is there any way you can soften around the process and notice WHY... why so you go blank and eat unconsciously when talking to others? Use this as a place to explore.

    So, how does a person "re program" their thoughts to accept themselves if they have spent the majority of their life hating there body and being overweight? I was teased for being fat (even when I wasn't) since kindergarten and I am now 31 years old. I have always struggled with my weight but kept a healthy weight until about 4 years ago. I am now 50lbs over my normal weight and it was brought to my attention that it's because of my not accepting myself.

    I found your channel a few weeks ago, and have found your advice helpful and your recipes delicious! I love the advice in this video, but how do you accept yourself when people close to you - that you can't just walk away from - don't accept you?

    Thanks Dani for this video. I have struggled with weight my whole life and now that I’m in my 40’s, I’m starting to have health issues. The only thing that ever works when I lose weight is counting points/calories. I will lose but then gain it back once I stop counting. I do not know how to accept myself and to lose weight without a calculator. What is the one thing or a video you could recommend to start for someone like me who wants to escape the counting suffocation? Thanks.
