How to Pack Your Jeep and what Tools for Off Road Trips

  • This time on the AutoEdits channel I have my buddy Joe run you through what he packs in his Jeep to go off roading and how he loads it up... You might remember him from my Rubicon video or from when I stuffed Dynatrac D60 axles under his Jeep and dropped it off at his house and ended up buying the Tahoe.
    Leave any questions you might have about the gear in the comments and I'm certain Joe or I can answer them.
    ALSO... leave other suggestions as well to help me and other Jeepers make smart packing choices!
    If you get a moment to head on over to the AutoEdits Amazon storefront and do some shopping, that would be helpful to the channel. Even if you don't buy from the items there... if you start shopping from there it still helps!
    www.amazon.com/shop/autoedits
    Thanks so much for watching and until next time...
    Enjoy your drive!

    Rule #1.... Take nothing, and just make sure you Wheel with a Guy like Joe ! 🤔😳🤪🍺

  • @MageDef

    Hey Jason, two quick things:
    1. That Element fire extinguisher (while lauded by the folks in Australia) are effective only if there is no wind. I tried rescueing a GM that caught on fire here going up the side of a mountain with one of those and the slight gust of wind made it ineffective due to it being a gas that just blows away. I'm back to regular fire extinguishers now.
    2. Tell Joe to keep that tape measure there! Sometimes you don't know if your Toyota Sequoia will fit between that gatekeeper on Steel Pass road in DV and it's nice to measure it with a tape first. (We made the Sequoia fit 🤫)
    Otherwise, great video! I love these types of videos and always learn a thing or two seeing what others carry on the trail, like metal zip ties!

      I do also carry a standard fire extinguisher on the roll bars for wheeling trips, the Element is just the quick grab to start managing the situation until I can get the full one out of the back or someone else brings theirs :-)

    • @MageDef
      @MageDef 3 роки тому +1

      @@joeolmsted8867 Ah yeah that's a good strategy. Admittedly, the Element managed to prevent things from going catastrophic until someone showed up with a big boy extinguisher, but if that was all I was carrying, then it would have been a bad day. I hope the tape measure made it back into the bag! :D

    Very good setup. For the jack , I use few years high lift jack, and since 2 years ( for safety) I change for the Pro Eagle 2 Ton. I travel 95% alone. And with the high lift is very easy to have bad days... the Pro Eagle are very safe and so easy to use .... the only down side is like your new jack ... very expensive
    For my bed truck (Tacoma) and for the cab ( seat deleted) I use Milwaukee packout to. Great system. Have 3 base plate in bed and 1 base plate in cab. Very fun you can easy mix the set up .. and like you said , if you don't need... just leave in garage.
