Gaw-lee! He almost sounds like Christopher Cross. Actually, if he had let go and just smoothed out his voice on his own, instead of replicating Christopher Cross, it might have been a STUNNING tutorial. (Needless to say, this is the best way to teach, and this is the best kind of teacher. Systematic, slow and paced, approachably warm.). Cheers from Musicolored Studios in Bent, New Mexico!
(My dad plays yacht rock radio literally 24/7) they play some Toto, Rupert Holmes, a LOT of steely dan, Christopher cross, boz scaggs, America, BUT, it’s soft rock ranging from 1976 to 1984) and they play a lot of individual songs too
Yacht Rock: Pina Colada Song, Margaritaville, Rosanna, Africa, Arthur's Theme, I'm Easy, Lowdown, Baker Street, Hey 19, Deacon Blue, Summer Breeze, Diamond Girl, I just Wanna Stop, Hungry Eyes, Reminiscing, Feels So Good, Love Will Find A Way, How Much I Feel, Rich Girl, Sara Smiles, Smoke From a Distant Fire, What You Won't Do For Love, Eye In The Sky, Still The One, Things We Do For Love, Really Love To See You Tonight, YOu Are The Woman, Moonlight Feels Right, Afternoon Delight, This Is It, Chuck E.'s In Love. I could go on......
This is amazing! i have always wanted to know what the notes for the opening strings were but could NEVER find that info and finally here it is. Thank you so much!!
@@HDpiano I am not kidding . I could not find the Intro chords anywhere. I guess others were more concerned with the main melody but to me the intro was the real hook that drew me in
Yacht Rock? Southern Cross- Crosby, Stills and Nash. Reminiscing- Little River Band. Eye in the Sky- Alan Parsons Project. Hall and Oates- Method of Modern Love. Many that would translate well to the piano...🤔
These other songs from the Yacht Rock genre are "Please Don't Ask Me" by John Farnham, "You Were There" by Southern Sons, "The Actor" by Michael Learns To Rock, "Heaven Knows" by Rick Price, "Truly Madly Deeply" by Savage Garden and "Turn Back The Clock" by Johnny Hates Jazz
Gente, fala pra mim, tem 19 não curtidas nesse vídeo, pelo amor de Deus, como tem pessoas que podem não curtir esse vídeo? Tutorial maravilhoso, o que leva essas pessoas a não curtirem o vídeo???
Ahh brings back fond memories of working in retail in my teenage years...with the “Lite FM” station playing overhead. Here’s another one- “Dust in the Wind” - Kansas. xD
Hello you guys are pretty good at teaching song on the piano, there is this one song that I would like to learn that is called "moonlight sotana" idk if you guys already made a video of that song but if you haven't I remcomend you should
Yacht Rock; "The weekend" by Steve Wariner1987, "a pirate looks at 40" 1975 and "son of a son of a sailor" 1978 by Jimmy Buffet, "Calypso" by John Denver 1975 and "Christian Island" 1972 by Gordon Lightfoot".
A1 TUTORIAL ,Ive loved that song for a long time but the sheet music only showed the chords and not the intro ,right you need to show us Minute by minute next please !!!!
I played this over and over but i cant really familiarize or even memories the notes is there something wrong with me ? Or the keybord/piano doesn't like me :'(
Nothing wrong with you! Just takes time/patience. One of my favorite practice techniques is "Slow Practice." It's a pretty simple concept: until you can play your hands together at a very slow speed, you won't be able to play them together any faster... so start slow and gradually increase the tempo after each successful pass. Here's a video we made overviewing the concept: ua-cam.com/video/TABhETyBVnM/v-deo.html
Actually I think it was seruis radio had a station yatch rock and it was mostly 70 early 80s stuff like sailing it was great but they took it off. I think pandora has something very similar. I can't get tired of listening to it. I was talking to my buddy about music past n present and that ppl my Age really don't find anything we like in the longest time coming out once in a blue moon I'll dig a song but these classics from the 50s 60s all the way up to say even maybe 2000 flat those songs in that 50 year span I think will forever be the favorites even in a couple hundred years. I hate to say all the good music has already been made but you'll never replicate the pioneers

Yacht rock? If there even is such a thing, then "Cool Change" by Little River Band must qualify. It's about longing to be in a boat on the water.
