- By popular demand (!) here is another of the rarely seen Mel-O-Toons. Based on The Song Of Hiawatha (1855) by Henry Wordsworth Longfellow, this cartoon's soundtrack was adapted from a 1950s Young People's record with narration by Norman Rose. If you enjoyed the "Little Hawk" Mel-O-Toon (also narrated by Rose) then you should enjoy this one as well.
This film is believed to be in the public domain. If you are the copyright holder please leave a message in the comments section of contact UA-cam.
Holy shit!!!! I havent seen this in sooooo long! I had a bunch of mel o toon vhs tapes when I was little that I used to watch religiously, including this one
I haven't seen this in a loooong time, there was another Mel-O-toon. About a burro and the crow who taught him to fly
I certainly remember seeing this Mel-O-Toon as a kid-several times,in fact.
I watched treasure island and the trojan horse multiple times as well
Written by Ray Abrashkin; music by Normand Lockwood.
Vocals by Lee Sweetland. The Eugene Lowell Singers from the original recording were eliminated from this version.
It is good 👍 to 👀 these retro
Cartoons again and I'm glad they still around for people to watch and enjoy.
Nostalgia! Thanks for posting!
Thank you so much
1:46 when he starts singing, it feels so American!
When the singing began, my little said " Oh really" children are so much smarter today...;)

I remember watching this as a kid
I don't remember these. Maybe born after
Do you also have Mel-O-Toons: I Wish I Had?
I remember that one! I get the melody in my head almost every day! :-) I want to see it again one of these days.
Currently I don't, but I do remember that one..."I wish I had a big brass band, how happy I would be. I would....."
Thank you anyway
