I remember first seeing this"Mel-O-Tune"cartoon on WPIX TV Ch.11 in NYC..back in the early 1960's..I loved this story about"Dinky Pinky" and I was lucky enough to meet the man..who narrated this tale in Southern,Cal. back in the summer of 2014..before he left us..Mr.Stan Freberg.
I remember seeing this over and over again on one of those kiddie shows back in the 70s, still remember the story, this one, and the Nightingale and Sleeping Beauty, they showed them repeatedly.
Stan Freberg uses a variation of that voice for Warner's `1947 A HICK, A SLICK, and a CHICK, for the lovestruck, engaged Elmo the Hick, and for 1950's WB Daffy, GOLDNE YEGGS
Thankyou so much for uploading this, it was a huge part of my childhood in the 60's. Do you have the song that went with it, it would be fantastic to hear that too!
This takes me back straight back to the 50s when I loved it. Still do! Thanks for posting it!
Wow, 5,000+ views! I am glad so many of you have enjoyed this vintage Mel-O-Toon.
This wonderful story was one of many that I used to listen to on NZ radio during the mid 70s -absolutely enjoyable
