Well honestly how would you make those books into movies they aren't exactly movie script freindly and it has a lot to do with the books just not alot straight out of the book cause that would be a guy telling a ton of different stories. To be honest its Foundation and Empire and Founations Edge stars end doesn't pop in till Edge and they were just on it in season 2 but ya its all mixed up. The robot chick Demerzel has the most to do with it to be honest cause he linked his foundation books with a lot of his other books and she runs the whole galaxy eventually in secret under a different name.
Cant wait till ai is good enough that anyone can make a movie out of a book and we can let hollyweird rest were it belongs. In the past stuck in a time loop slowly aging to dust.
Can't see what the hype is about with The Last of Us. Haven't the studios heard of The Walking Dead and Daryl Dixon? Although the latter is a bit of a change from the former, but who'd want to know D.D. as anyone usually gets killed when he's around them. Only have to look at the poor pigeon guy. (Wasn't he in one of the Alien films?)
Netflix spent $360 million on electric state? So... thats why Netflix keeps raising its subscription prices with no explanation other than "tough shit, just pay it".
And people keep paying it. I cancelled my account back when the streaming and disc service was split apart. You can watch netflix shows on many many different sites now days so why pay money to a shitty company. I'll never pay money to a company that wants me to watch kid diddlin'.
Here's the list that is missing from the original post: 1. "Invasion" season 3 (Apple TV+) 2. "Mickey 17" (theaters) 3. "Foundation" season 3 (Apple TV+) 4. "Dune Prophecy" (HBO/Max) 5. "Black Mirror" season 7 (Netflix) 6. "Project UFO, The Eternaut" (Netflix) 7. "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" (Disney+) 8. "The Electric State" (Netflix) 9. "Severance" season 2 (Apple TV+) 10. "Alien: Earth" (Max) 11. "The Last of Us" season 2 (HBO/Max) 12. "Stranger Things" season 5 (Netflix)
Thanks. Since the voiceover was almost identical for Foundation as for Invasion I assumed it was two trailers for Invasion. Says a lot about the lack of originality.
Its a great list and i will 100% be watching most if not all of them... Film wise my must watches are... The Electric State...Mickey 17...the two foreign films look interesting though On the TV side yeah i`m interested in all of the
There must be a way around that. No one I know has every streaming service yet many people seem to catch all the new releases. Has to be a way. Ask around.
Thank you for confirming LoU2 will follow the same shitty story as the game, I don't have to watch it now. I had not heard of the invasion, looks good, will check it out. Looking forward to Mickey 17, looks quirky. Dune Prophecy, one word, YES :)
Interesting panorama of sci-fi. Indexing each segment would help, because some trailers are out of reach or already seen elsewhere. Remark- the sci-fi industry is using old movies, prequels, graphic novels, novels ( very old like Foundation or Dune), video games. At one point in time, they will run out sources.
There are a *lot* of scifi novels - I have been reading steadily for 50 years and have probably only seen a fraction - plus there's an even vaster universe of short stories and novellas. I'm not saying they're all any good, of course, but given that Hollywood can turn a short children''s book into a 3 movie epic, I don't think you need to worry any time soon.
Star Wars Skeleton Crew looks like a lame trope... we know that good stuff can be made e.g., "Andar" - but "they" seem to have stuffed up on every other front... where are the good writers and mature dialogue? As well, too many shows are too "preachy" - don't give me a "Moral DEI Indoctrination"! I can get that at work from HR - give me something to entertain!
You missed the best sci-fi drama EVER! StarWar's "Andor" season 2, finishing the series on April 25, 2025. This is more anti-authoritarian than even "Serenity". See the season 1 scene of Andor's trip to find his sister at a brothel.
Everything dystopian no portrayal of a future to be optimistic about, e.g. Star Trek, needless to say these streaming service won't see patronage from me & mine!!
What I see is: More CGI overload, meaningless action in favor of a good story, totally expendable forgettable cast with no acting abilities and no new ideas. Everything has already been said, everything has been seen ... sorry. These are the reasons why I don't renew my Neflix/Prime/YouNameIt account.
Foundation is an abomination that has nothing to do with the beloved books. Invasion first season was so boring I cba to finish it, let alone start the second one. Alien Earth is welcomed, however after the visually great but story wise terrible Romulus I can't say I am thrilled. I hope to be pleasantly surprised. Dune Prophecy looks promising, but lets face it, modern Hollywood is a mess. They will probably mess this up as well. Electric state I will watch in theaters, Mickey I will stream. The last of us will be fun to watch how they completely change the story from the video game in order to keep Pedro in the series. Almost anything Star Wars and Star Trek is a pass these days, so the only must see for me is Stranger things. The rest, nah...
I think where the Alien franchise loses it for me is in these prequels and sequels is they're always making the protagonists a woman. Don't get me wrong the whole Ripley thing had me for about three sequels. But come on man every time an Alien appears either in the future or past a woman does all the dirty work? And the sole survivor? Really?
All science fiction movies with female leads suck. All UA-cam content pooped-out by AI sucks. Thank God I know how to read books, because the future of entertainment is crap spewing-out crap talking about crap.
Dune Prophecy. How can you so badly mispronounce Arrakis & The Bene Gesserit? It’s not like they weren’t mentioned 1000 times each in the first 2 movies 🙄
When critics and presenters say arguably it means their opinion only it’s a common trait to say. It’s arguably that means the opinions is the only thing the presenters opinion because the presenter is the one causing the argument where fans may literally say I know go away critics will say oh that’s an argument When there is a book written by the author and most arguments are caused by the written word from the author through to the marketing people the directors and the rewriters of said novel when they choose to argue the point of what’s on the screen to what’s in the novelsand I’ve gotta say what goes on the screen seems to be the shit from the novel that can be filmed dramatically and then turned into a game just to keep making money
The titles Necromancer and Silo 2 ♥ are not included, as both will be released in 2025.
Do you mean Neuromancer?
What the hell happened to Gibson's Peripheral? Why was that cancelled?
Silo 2 is in next week
Black Mirror USS Callister is legit the best episode. I was definitely petitioning for a sequel!
Can't wait for Stranger Things final season to be over. Then I can finally start watching the series. It's been a looong wait!
The original Alien movie came out in 1979. That is over 45 years ago, and not 30 as the speaker was saying. I know, I saw Alien on opening day.
To me it seemed like he said the film was set 30 years before the original. Some peculiar pausing in the read, sure, but still...
He probably thinks that Resurrections is the best one!😂😂😂
Good list….missing Silo 2!
Thanks! How did I miss it? I’ve already watched the trailer.
8:22 Electric State is gonna be a smash! Gonna be watching this one for sure
Yes this seaaon i am looking forward to Star Trek Voyager, LOST , Chuck , and The man in the high castle.
Foundation has very little to do with what Azimov created. By itself, it is pretty good. But don't ever think it follows the books.
If it's got the Mule in it, then It's Foundation and Empire anyway.
Well honestly how would you make those books into movies they aren't exactly movie script freindly and it has a lot to do with the books just not alot straight out of the book cause that would be a guy telling a ton of different stories.

Visually stunning for 360 million. Hmmm let me think how about better be good.

They still managed to get it epically wrong. It's almost as if nobody involved actually looked up the book or the artist.
This year, Netflix films have also been a big letdown. We can't expect much when it comes to their movies.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to watching The Electric State. The trailer looks good!

Yo-Ho Yo-Ho I don't have any service Yo-Ho Yo-Ho and i don't plan to have´. Yo-Ho Yo-Ho
foundation, yes
dune, i'm in
dunno about the rest ...
oh damn i would like a yautja series... imaging yautja prime... my boooooyautja
If hollyweird scriptwriters wanted to write SCIENCE fiction scripts, perhaps they should have passed STEM subjects in school.
Thank you for confirming LoU2 will follow the same shitty story as the game, I don't have to watch it now. I had not heard of the invasion, looks good, will check it out. Looking forward to Mickey 17, looks quirky. Dune Prophecy, one word, YES :)
ugh...the only one that we'll be waiting for is Stranger Things 5
The name of this channel fits.
Awesome 👌👍💯
Part of the 3rd Foundation was filmed in Poland on aprlil and may 2024.
I love invasion. The character development is so good. I am totally into this show.
The voiceover here is so strangely written and read.
I think the next season of Andor will soon arrive.
Any news of a new season of War Of The Worlds?
Interesting panorama of sci-fi.

Apple's Foundation and Asimov Galactic Encyclopaedia has very little in common but a vague resemblance and some characters' name

Keep it up! Your work is amazing!
Only interested in 3 of the 12 and Silo. The rest look meh at best.
Thanks
I cant believe just how badly the Electric State seems to be turning out. Like they looked at some pictures and did their own thing.
If you dont have anything good to say about a movie or a series get ready because "the stakes are about to go even higher".
Good work but too many spoilers re what happened in previous seasons

ALIENS!

So what is apple tv doing in uk have only seen 1 season of invasion
What's going on with shows these days, even in broad daylight they look dark.

That's a little nihilistic.

No, it isn't. Because there are good movies and series out there. But I don't see any of 'em in this video.
Severance has never been done before. Nothing like it has been on tv before

Just a tiny variation on the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde theme.

The complete mispronunciation is sooo annoying
They call it "intelligent". Not even close. Whoever proofed it can't speak English either.
Ar-aaaaaa-kis Ar-aaaaa-kis!
7:31 Star Wars S.C. will hopefully be better than Acolyte but I seriously doubt. More than likely worse or as bad
Lost me at Invasion
i expected to see movies like the title says but get series - sheesh Jebaited by the clickbait title
Everything that Severance isn’t
Thank you . ( 2024 / Oct / 20 )
Invasion, duller than dishwater.
So... just one movie.
Foundation is fantastic
How much more crap are they gonna pump out, utter tripe.
For the undiscerning masses. You know - like your in-laws. lol
skipped right over star wars, last of us and stranger things.
Hey, teach your AI narrator some proper word and name pronunciation! 🤣 And some better editing, "Strangers Things" ? 🤣
Nothing new to see here, move along. Same shit different day.
Star Wars has exactly 6 movies. The rest is Disney woke garbage.
Damn right.
Really? What a waste. Netflix, Amazon, Apple already give previews and notifications
Ararakis? 😂
I have no use for dismal hopeless storylines and ham acting. All of which is used to tie together gobs of cgi. Drek
So this is an AI reading a script right? Weirdly stilted in places. "Apple Tv ..... plus"

Dune Prophecy. How can you so badly mispronounce Arrakis & The Bene Gesserit? It’s not like they weren’t mentioned 1000 times each in the first 2 movies 🙄

Most "new" movies are just unimaginative copies or sequels or prequels. Hollywood is dead.
