Impressive results with the match grade over the mils spec ammo . Ballistic gel test for expansion of projectiles of 5.56 and .308 and 7.62x51 for comparison.
The first three , the 77gr.-556. Seemed to ring the steel just as hard as the 308 -168gr.. Another channel say the 556 was designed to be as effective at 500yrds ( terminal velocity) as the 308 , the test was to pass through a 10ga.steel helmet , Vietnam era. Great testing data
Really enjoyed this video. After seeing the results with different 5.56 grain loads, I feel much confident that the 68 and 77 grain will do the job with white tail within 200 yds.
Good stuff ol' mate. Sound level on during the spreadsheet cuts was really low though, in my situation it was virtually inaudible. Field level was good. Thanks for posting.
Great video. Very interesting results. I will say that the Sig 77gr ammo velocity is suspect. Either Sig got some ammo by QC that was loaded very, very hot, or the chronograph malfunctioned. Those velocities are not typical for a 77 gr bullet out of even a 20'' barrel
Good, interesting video. Thanks for all of your work. Also, great shooting. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
Thanks for your encouraging words. Much appreciated.
I was dissappointed with the 556 at first, but in the end I loved the result.

I completely agree. That match grade ammo in both calibers is the way to go...
The barrel twist on the 7.62 is geared for the 168 and doesn't stabilize the 147 well.

its not even close, at 450 yds the 308 hits with the same force as a 5.56 does at point blank...
Great Video. Thanks.

Thanks for your kind words. Will work on the sound also. 👍
Very good tests, sir! Would you be willing to do similar tests with 6.5 Grendel and/or 6mm ARC?
Thank you for your compliments. Much appreciated. will work on the other calibers you mentioned. it is as if you were reading my mind.
The problem with the grendel is ammunition availability personally I think an 18” grendel 👍😊.
Very nice. My favorite 308 hunting round is 180 gr. Core-lokt Remington. May put the 308 into retirement and go with 5.56 or 223.
Hydrokinetic, that was no calm meditation pool!
Great shooting. I may buy Gold Medal from now on. Thank you for your hard work, sir.
Thank you for your kind words. Much appreciated. Gold Medal Match makes me look like a better shooter than what I really am. 👍
Green tip, no surprise there. Say the AR-15 platform you are using specs? Barrel length and turn rate?
I noticed the energy factor jumped up on the Sig Sauer round climbed in number at 400 yards and then dropped way back down at 500 yards
Did you mention Barrel length? I know that it is a factor with 5.56, for the hydro shock effect above 2200 fps. Nice groups.
A bit late to this video but I believe he said 16" for the AR barrel length
6mm arc ?
What rifles did you use?
Great video. Very interesting results.

Something is seriously wrong with me. Before every shot I find myself holding my breath.
You almost killed that butterfly with the clay @11:18
The milk company wants their totes back.
Big bullet do more damage at close distance than smaller bullet
5.56 did what it was designed too do break apart
Nice but disagree...match is giving you a more accurate view of what you as a shooter and the utilized weapons system can really do.
