- Map of Florence - Are you planning a trip to the amazing city of Florence Italy but you don’t know how to get around? Well today we will give you a Map of Florence with the perfect itinerary to explore all the best spots in the city! Also at the end of the video we will give you a link to download our Map of Florence. Florence is a very walk able city and all the best spots are a few steps away from each others! Santa Maria Novella train station is the perfect gateway to Florence if you are planning on taking the train. But it is also a great spot for you if you are planning on driving to Florence. For this reason we will start our Map of Florence at the Santa Maria Novella train station.
We are two Canadians currently living in Italy. We moved to Italy in November 2018 to start a new chapter of our life's and we would like to share our story with. We hope you enjoy it.

About us:
In March 2017, Rick and Andrea (confessed Travel Addicts) started a Facebook Group called Travel Addicts as a way to share their travel photos and videos not just with their own respective friend's lists - but with the world. Part of the reason was for bragging rights (I mean, that’s kind of the point of sharing photos, right?), but also to help answer questions to others about the destinations they have visited.
After inviting some of our friends and family, it grew and grew - and as of June 2019, the group has grown to over 200,000 members! One reason for our success, we believe, is that we have done our best to ensure only high-quality photos and videos get shared, all while limiting the use of commercial content.
Thanks!
Thank you 😍

You two have become my favourite travel advisors. I have been in Italy many times over the last 50 years or so but I always learn something from you. I’ll be in Rome this October to celebrate my 80 th birthday. I think I’ll follow your map for one day trip. Maybe we’ll cross paths. From Nanaimo BC. Take care. Liz
Thank you so much Liz 😍 we would love to cross path with you maybe I. Rome of somewhere else 😃

You guys are soo cool…. We love your videos and have just downloaded your free maps. Cheers!
Thank you 🙏🏻
This would have come in handy on our trip last month. We made a few wrong turns, but eventually got to where we wanted to go. We had an Airbnb right on Via Ricasoli with a fantastic view of the Duomo from our terrace.
Can't wait to go back and take a date trip to a vineyard out in the countryside.
Thanks again!
Thank you 🙏 it is an amazing city indeed 😃
Hey guys, it's an extremely well-made video. Planning a trip to Florence with my family this year during the summer. Am sure will be benefited a lot from your insights. Thanks.
Thank you we are glad we were able to help 🙏
Hi! We plan on renting a car to drive outside of the city. Do you have video or tips on navigating the roads? More specifically, hubby is having anxiety not understanding the road signs. Thank you! Love your channel!

I meant let us know how you like Florence 😃
Do you know how I could find the names of these streets?
Thanks! You guys are awesome. This is the best Florence video I have found so far. Specially for first time visitors. I downloaded the map too.
Thank you 🙏
Again, great video. We are in Rome now and leaving for Florence tomorrow for a while. We visited all the places you pointed out except the pharmacy. We will get there this trip. Your videos are so real and make you feel excited to visit. Great job.
Thank you so much Jeffrey! Let us know how you like your trip to Florence and Santa Maria Novella Pharmacy
@@TravelAddictsLife Sure will. We have been there every year for the last 12 years. We love it. We do many day trips from there. We also do a couple of over-night as well. We found San Marino as a great visit. I'll keep you posted.
Thank you 🙏
Hey guys -- I am planning our first trip to Italy next year and have been really enjoying going through all your videos. I'm trying to decide between spending 3 nights in Rome and 4 nights in Florence or vice versa. What do you recommend?
Thanks
You are very welcome 🙏🏻
Thanks Rick & Andrea for this very helpful and informative video. I've been to Florence once, but that was 20 yrs ago. On October I plan to come back with my 2 nieces. It's interesting to see the free things you can do in Florence from your previous video. I want to know how to go to Piazza Michelangelo from the Doumo. Thank you and enjoy travelling.
Thank you so much. To go to Piazzale Michelangelo you can take a taxi or if you want you can walk there. It is a 20 minutes walking. We like to take a taxi there than walk back down hill
@@TravelAddictsLife We love hiking so we want to hike there early morning to avoid the crowds. thanks.
Excellent idea! It is also beautiful at sunset
we are going to Rome, Florence and Venice this coming August with two teenagers, what would be your recommendation for Florence? We would like to visit a place where we make our own pasta.
That can be a great topic for a video! Stay tuned!
I enjoy your practical, down to earth advice. How much time does this walk take if we stop for a couple of the museums and gardens?
All day if you stop at museums
Hi Rick and Andrea. I find your travel videos really helpful. We're planning to go to Florence next year, Mar 12-15 and want to tour Tuscany like Pisa, Sienna, Val D' Orcia, Pienza, Montalcino and San Gimignano as well. May I know if 4 days is enough to tour Florence and Tuscany? Thank you in advance! :)
Good morning Mel, thank you so much for your comment, If you want to see all those places 4 days are not enough you’ll need at least 6 days
Hello. Can you tell me more info on reserving your time at the Duomo and also how to
Purchase tickets for the Uffizi. We will be on a cruise and this is a stop on 6/2. Thank you.
Unfortunately after COVID you can not reserve your spot for the Duomo anymore. However you can book a tour that has skip the line entrance you can book them here: readysetitaly.com/florence-uffizi-gallery
Travel Addicts...thanks for the map suggestions and great tips. I have a question...flying into Rome then catching the Rossa speed train to Florence Santa Maria Novella train station but in order to rent our car at Florence airport I must catch a tram from SMN to the Florence airport...correct?
Yes 👍🏻
I plan about 3 days in Florence this July . Beside waking around Florence , I like to go to spezia/ cinque terra in one day then go see Pisa and lunch at Tuscany vineyard another day. Can you give me tips and and advices so I can plan without being too overwhelmed lol
Thanks I appreciate
That is a lot of things you want to do in only 3 days
Hello. We are going to Florence for the day on a cruise ship. Do you know how to get there from La Spezia by train or bus?? Also, I was in Florence once before and we went to a piazza that had a big outdoor market with clothes, food and other goods. Do you know which piazza this is??? Thank you so much and this is a great video!!! :)
Hello Michelle, fro La Spezia going to Florence it is a bit of a long journey, by train it will take one hour and forty five minutes. If the cruise line offers a transfer it is probably a better choice, and safer. Our favorite market in Florence is the mercato centrale right by the train station
Fellow Canadians:
Quick question if you can please answer: Do we have taxis available outside of PIAZZALE MICHELANGELO / Church of San Miniato? If not, what are the commute options to Santa Maria Novella Station?
Hello there, thank you for your comment. Usually there are a lot of taxis at Piazzale Michelangelo. But you can also walk back to Santa Maria Novella from there, it is a 20 minutes beautiful walk.
Excellent video..How much time will it take to cover the map? can it be done within 6 hours?
If you walk fast yes you can
Hi!! Do you think is worrh going up all the stairs of cúpula del duomo?
Or the tower?
Just spending 1 day in florence😢
If you only have one day we don’t think irbid worth it, visit the city instead
Thanks for replying to me,but I have not received the link for the map.

My family and I are planning to visit Florence next year at the end of April. How soon can we make reservations to visit the Duomo and other places?
Hello Claudia, thank you for your message. You can make your reservations a couple of months before
Do you have a video regarding how to take a train Florence to Milan ?
Not yet but we will
Hi! May I ask what areas you'd recommend staying at in Florence? Is the Santa Maria Novella area a safe place? Thank you!
Yes it is a very good area to stay 😃
@@TravelAddictsLife Are there other areas you'd recommend?
Florence city center is quite small and very walkable, anywhere in the city centre is good. Last time we went we stayed by the lungarno (the area along the river Arno) and we loved it
Can you guys tell me if the regional train from Firenze to La Spezia at 0953hrs always gets full or are there always seats available?
Maybe you guys have taken it in the past.
This is for late March.
Sorry Mario we don’t know if it gets full, but in late March I doubt it because it is not tourists season yet
@@TravelAddictsLife Thats good to know
Is the map still available for download? I went to that link, entered my name and address, but I only received a confirmation email with nothing attached. Thank you.
We don’t know why we will take a look and let you know
