In fairness nobody can touch him,, either in the studio or in the club, he is simply unequalled ...I first seem him in 92...and, a lot since then,,,total genius....total genius
you all prolly dont care at all but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost my account password. I would love any help you can give me.
I've watched through a LOT of boiler rooms to get here. This set feels like an insurmountable peak of sound and energy. Aural perfection start to finish.
I remember back when... in Liverpool, Laurent Garnier played a great house set in Cream for an hour. Then he went to a tiny 600 people club called Voodoo and played - FULL ON DIRTY TECHNO for 3 HOURS! It was blinding! He had a proper rave up and was much, much happier banging out the booming, chewy tunes in a smaller, cheaper, much more havin' it club. He said so, on that particular night, anyway. Crispy Bacon was one of his softer tunes... He can chew out some phat house, which he's famous for - but he has a penchant for DIRTY, GURNING, Mouth watering, TECHNO. Wicked DJ.
EezaPropa Geeza Seen him Club uk way back in 94 and in cork a few times have to say twas as expressed super fucking banging and yes twas techno for sure :)
anyone see him back in Feile in one of the tents? instantly i was hooked. Carl cox was on the same bill, but Garnier stole the show. Mindblowing how good he was and still is.
one of the rare if not the only DJ that makes me really feels he doesn't do a job, he's just having fun and trully loving what he does and the music he plays like it's blood flow in his veins... one of the best if not the best...
In this You tube version set starts with Code 718 - Equinox (Henrik Schwarz Remix - Dixon Edit) [166] ? [174] Laurent Garnier - Gnanmankoudji (Horny Monster Mix) [185] Laurent Garnier - The Man With The Red Face [196] Laurent Garnier Pres. Alaska - It's Just Muzik / Stargazing [Crosstown Rebels - CRM 058] [213] Scan X - Midnight (Laurent Garnier Edit) [218] New Order - Blue Monday [223] The Aztec Mystic - Jaguar [227] Kingpin Cartel - Ghetto [Innervisions - IV 10] [230] Harry Thumann - Underwater [235] The Prodigy - Out Of Space [XL - DL 266]
Still got it. After the first night he played at Circus, Liverpool, he asked Yousef if he could be resident, such was the great reaction he got from the crowd.
no this is a club in manchester called the Warehouse Project. they usually do the boiler room shows in the private backroom whilst the other 3 main rooms are open to ravers. however for this show, only the 2nd biggest room was open and they set up a camera and streamed his set on boiler room. Boiler Room didn't arrange this set to happen, they just turned up and filmed it for everyone.
Monsieur- you are being a touch pedantic. The comment was a complement. Pain has a another meaning in Anglais.. Live a little. Try a croissant with chocolate.. it's not a crime:) Merci, have a nice day!
Forgot how brilliant a night that was and he'd been playing for a few hours before this, everyone was rocking, seen & played with most of the 90s crew but this was one very special night 😊 feeling smug to have been there lol

So many people lived in eras when they could not experience this. Despite all the things not right with the world today we are truly lucky bc we have LG among us.
Track 5 (34:00): Laurent Garnier - It's Just Muzik Track 6 (50:50): Scan X - Midnight (Laurent Garnier Edit) So Gooooooooood ! Yes, I would say So "Original". Hearing for new sounds, new atmosphere, playing with frequency, more than sound.... Scan X and Laurent are just great artists, pushing the art limits, all the time.... Thankx for that.
+Konstantin Kolotov do you guys understand the concept of what a live performance is? hence the presence of scan x next to laurent? duh, the track at 4.00 tilll scan x leaves the stage is live performance mixed with records, how do we do to replay it?
It was just ok up until 3:36..then he destroyed it.Had nice melody, nice rhythm,if a little bit repetitive, which is the problem with all "techno'. It's just a stuck/skipping cd sound, with poor attempts to splice samples of other music together which don't fit tone wise or beat wise. Real,uncut/un-sampled unbroken analogue recordings of naturally made sound/music, moves and changes subtly and continuously. Without this continuous gentle flow and change, the subconscious gets quickly bored and desires to move on....hence the need to disrupt the brain function with toxic chemicals just to enjoy it. Music writing and performing would be in a much better state without the drug use of today's population. This dj culture has come about due to the inability of music writers to understand the desire of the market place to have those short inspiring dance melodies, that rarely surface during an all too short hit, extended. They simply want to be inspired to dance for a lot longer than is available on a single track. Massive opportunities are being missed by the music writers and the whole industry itself as they complain about the dj's sampling. Imagine if the original writers would go and listen to what the dj's are trying to produce from the music and re-write their own material as long continuous dance tracks. They'd make so much money. And it would sound so much better.
Why are you even here? If you don't like it, turn it off you A hole. What gives YOU the right to come on here and be the critic? Look at yourself in the mirror, you keyboard coward, and ask yourself if you like the pathetic sight you see.
What a ignorant thing to say, especially when you say that "toxic chemicals" are taken to disrupt our brain functions "just to enjoy it". What the fuck is going on in your head? So pretentious, Techno is certainly repetitive but its not boring, more and more layers join in and its a very hypnotic style of music that pulls you in and then (usually) hits you with main bass line/melody/whatever. I am a fan of all types of music, not just electronic but also 'normal' music. You're just a guy with a bicycle and a perspective not many people watching this will share. Cycle on bike boy.
uh oh, here comes the dj police again. lol, you have 3 minute time stamp for an 80 min set? what did you not listen to the whole thing before you wrote your review?

I don't disagree with you and your feeling about this. What I m talking about is that even before all of this, even when Garnier was playing in Manchester in early 90s, the majority of people was looking towards DJs simply because he is one of the pioneer that brought electronic to a new level. He said "people starts to come and see the DJs that produce because they are artist". Of course, i ain't blind and i know that now a lot of DJ are just hypsters now but it's simply another matter...
