When people ask me what my favorite song of all time is, it's always Inspector Norse. There's something about driving fast down a highway at 3AM listening to Todd Terje. I was driving to see a lover I hadn't seen for 3 years at 3AM, and the song was just the cherry on top. It's three parts joy one part nostalgia, and it always hits me like a truck. The whole experience was surreal.
Well here i am again, listening to the best live show out there. I'm still baffled at the emotions this performance arouses in me. Joy, nostalgia, melancholy, optimism, ecstasy. It would seem that Todd Terje has truly mastered the power of music. What a concert. Wow.
TRACK LIST: (it would be great if this was in the info section) 1. Swing Star, Pt.1. 2. Leisure Suit Preben - 4:21 3. Preben Goes to Acapulco - 8:49 4. Strandbar - 16:30 (longer intro) 5. Delorean Dynamite - 22:22 - 44:07 (Really long live mixed version) 6. Ragysh 31:11 -ish 7. Johnny and Mary - 44:09 8. Svensk Sås - 50:37 9. Alfonso Muskedunder - 55:03 10. Oh Joy - 58:33 (fades into Insp.Norse) 11. Inspector Norse - 1:07:00 It took a really long time and I honestly dont know why i bothered. I guess I was bored. There could be some errors. I dont know all of the parts in this show, it could be older tracks or just some live-jamming. Enjoy! I often find track-lists very usefull ^_^
Terje is one of the most talented modern day musical artists out there. I'm so proud to have followed him from the start. I mean HOW FUCKING COOL is this live performance???
Just lovely. I was smiling throughout the whole set. So honest in a deliberately cheesy way. Todd has been releasing cuts for more than a decade. It's great to see he finally receives the recognition he deserves.
Truly amazing! One of the best electro show and electro artist in my opinion. Nice mix between acoustic and electronic. The best of both worlds. It's all there!
Alfonso Muskedunder was the best one. Everyone just having a good time and the drummer solo was identical to the album. Everything is! Wish i was there
this is a direct progression from Jean Michel Jarre and even back to paul hardcastle and mike oldfield, he's on a level with the classical great composers at the moment, would love to see him and derrick mays orchestral redition of strings of life on the same night :D
milton1969able Jean Michel Jarre, Paul Hardcastle and Mike Oldfield are themselves direct progressions from ancient musicians...nothing new, unless you're uselless information.
Bartolomeu Lanca you both hit it in the right spot. Jean Michel Jarre the ultimate inspiration of all of them. Look at their synths, the unique and ONLY ARP, O M Geeeee.
Loving the reference at the end with the white ponchos and fairy lights. I like to think that somewhere in Norway the original Inspector Norse is dancing along.
Saw more or less this same set at Pitchfork 2015. The dancers, bongos, that drummer- it was all there.Took acid, then drove eight hours and ended up on the beach.
You must know a lot of electronic artists. I don't, but I have the general idea that the vast majority of this type of shows and DJ sets basically consists on pressing play and adjusting EQs, volumes of individual elements, maybe a scratch here and there. Am I wrong? Todd Terje's show has real musicians playing real music over pre-recorded elements.
Thats where you are wrong kindo. This isnt something new, vocalists have their own backing vocals AS WELL as lip syncing. The most basic as press play dance/rave DJ just goes there to drink and dance. A lot of producers shine in their production work over their live performances. As someone who is like that myself I do try to incorporate more live elements into my music (such as keyboards, drum machines, ect). Even though I have 5-6 years of trombone under my belt and can read sheet music clearly am I less of an artist for not being able to do much in a live situation compared to in the studio? :|
I was scrolling the comments just to see if anyone was going to mention BRYAN FERRY! THAT'S THE ACTUAL HIGHLIGHT OF THIS PERFORMANCE. This generation doesn't know shit for no one not to mention him. THEY DON'T KNOW HOW LEGENDARY HE IS, if they knew who Bryan FERRY was they would of most definitely mentioned him. These kids got alot to learn. Glad I ran into your comment and found at least one person who knows something!😂❤
Durgenheim It's really stunning to see that people can actually dislike this. I can imagine this might not be your style but it's just too damn good. This guy is a god.
I hear you loud and clear... Whenever a producer can turn their live set into something more moving than studio productions, you know it's a rare talent. I honestly think it's just top-40 or "EDM" fans that click dislike on this. They obviously have zero clue how to appreciate quality performances!
Mindblowing live ! It's even better than the album thanks to the many musicians that join in the show. The whole live is a pleasure to hear, and this intro with Todd playing alone on the synth is so cool ! Can't get enough of his music !
Que delicadeza la cancion de John y Mary, el set es tan hermoso, siento mucha felicidad saber que mis gustos musicales son compartidos. Muchas gracias Todd por encontrar mis zapatillas de baile, luego me paso a recogerlas 😉
Setlist: Swing Star, Part 1 Leisure Suit Preben Preben Goes To Acapulco Strandbar Delorean Dynamite Eurodans Ragysh (New song) Johnny and Mary Svensk Sås Alfonso Muskedunder Oh Joy Inspector Norse
Such a class! Such a level of synergy between musicians! This is so damn good, those who attended the show are the lucky guys!!! That's why we love Todd: he makes Music. It's funky, it's disco, it's melodic, it is Music! Where else you can find electronic music that could be played by live artists like this? So rare, I wish more to come and I wish juicy and productive career to Todd, so he will make more Music!
Todd terje.
I once went to a Slagsmalsklubben concert. Same vibes, not one shit was given that night. They casually came onto the scene to have fun with a bunch of people who just so happened to be there too. They were the biggest bunch of nerds I ever saw and we loved every bit of it. Highly recommend the track Hant for similar vibes to Inspector Norse.
Storytime: pitchfork festival chicago 2016: I got tickets to the festival on the bus (clutch), then was enjoying the festival all day. We noticed Todd Terje was playing. I knew Inspector Norse, so I'm like Ye lets scope this MF. Little did I know it would be the greatest live set of my life! My friend and I were just leaning the fuck back on a huge tree ass the Todd Terje band playing. It dont get much better than that
Well well I don't usually hear techno music on a Wednesday because I'm always working and I need to be productive and not get caught on fun haha but I'm finally on holidays sooooo... Let's see Todd. Let's see

try not getting hit by a truck
Can't agree more. It's personal to me and like made for me. One of the best.
Best driving song ever.
I feel you big time.
BEST SONG EVER
Not better than Oh Joy
Love how much the guy on Bongos is feeling it.
Aaron Curd 1:09:40
+Aaron Curd drugs aren't always bad
+The Grain Hands down, my favorite part of the album.
bongos guy = real mvp
pawn stars

chris ce Who needs drugs when you've got great music?
batlin Or jeesus?
+batlin even better is both
totally agree with you, it takes a special person to be so moved by good music, your special, we all are :)
5 years later I've still yet to watch a better live show
Delorean Dynamite is still a HUGE track .... would pay serious money to hear it live with a big crowd!
I'm pretty sure it's Todd's second most popular song he made. It's just behind 'Inspector Norse' and both are so fucking good to bop to.
Cannot believe how well this was mixed and performed. Unreal how well this sounds so good.

+HC Piano Thanks a lot man!
+HC Piano very kind thanks
Your boredom is very much appreciated then!
Well, I'm like 7 years late on this, but wow! This is great!
dont know why everybody isn't talking about this set. World class
The inspector norse rip from this feed has 60k views atm.
It is October 26, 2021 and I am still coming back to listen to this again for the umpteenth time.

Doesn't get any better. So bad ass!
He will playing here in Budapest in 2 days. Omg excitement overload. This guy is a gem!
was it good?
Give the sound guy a bloody medal!
Yes. Terje actually mixed this himself.
Terje is one of the most talented modern day musical artists out there. I'm so proud to have followed him from the start. I mean HOW FUCKING COOL is this live performance???
I've listened to this live about 20 times, and I'm not done yet!
25th time here!
This is THA LIVE PERFORMANCE !
Second time i watched this whole live concert, probably will add another 20 times
that bald drummer is just jammin all the way through!!!

Romy Hoogendoorn it was the best concert of her life.
Mau Mou mine too :P

Todd for the president!
Holy crap how did not I find this before...
lead in to inspector norse is so good!!
I'm so touched by how humble Terje is
Just lovely. I was smiling throughout the whole set. So honest in a deliberately cheesy way. Todd has been releasing cuts for more than a decade. It's great to see he finally receives the recognition he deserves.

Also at 22:35
Best part.
This is mindblowingly good..
The conga work on Strandbar is magnificent...nothing like some smokin percussion to put a "disco" track in the groove.
How i could miss this show? well.. whateverest... the finale gives me thrills!!!!
Nils frahm and Todd terje would make amazing music together, they are both evolving synthesized music to amazing levels.
this is a direct progression from Jean Michel Jarre and even back to paul hardcastle and mike oldfield, he's on a level with the classical great composers at the moment, would love to see him and derrick mays orchestral redition of strings of life on the same night :D

Nihls Frahm and Todd Terje. Imagine what they could do together with something like Swing Star. Oof
Loving the reference at the end with the white ponchos and fairy lights. I like to think that somewhere in Norway the original Inspector Norse is dancing along.
Claynation ahhh i didn't realise it was a homage.. :) cheers
Saw more or less this same set at Pitchfork 2015. The dancers, bongos, that drummer- it was all there.Took acid, then drove eight hours and ended up on the beach.
He's actually playing his melodies on the keys. There goes the notion that electronic artists sit behind the board and just press play
That´s the diference between a Live Act and and a DJ Set! But... You allways have to Press The Button! :)
YES!!!!!!! but there is a big diference between Tod Terje and some random electronic producer
Tod..... its the fucking KING!
I mean he's using an arp but still
You must know a lot of electronic artists. I don't, but I have the general idea that the vast majority of this type of shows and DJ sets basically consists on pressing play and adjusting EQs, volumes of individual elements, maybe a scratch here and there. Am I wrong?

Love how the legendary Mr. Bryan Ferry casually saunters onstage @44m28s for "Johnny and Mary" - two musical giants of their respective generations
I was scrolling the comments just to see if anyone was going to mention BRYAN FERRY! THAT'S THE ACTUAL HIGHLIGHT OF THIS PERFORMANCE. This generation doesn't know shit for no one not to mention him. Delorean Dynamite sounds amazing in this
Not that it doesn't always sound amazing but yeah, I get what you mean :D
Fourth time I'm watching this now. This concert literally gives me life.
Best ending I've ever seen. I didn't really enjoy this festival that much, but Todd Terje and The Olsens nailed it!
now this is a real 'dj'. not just some dude standing there for 2 hours turning knobs.
This is what 'pure joy' sounds like
To me it's simple: I see Todd Terje - I like 👍
Todd terje is the best
The new Giorgio Moroder of XXI century
there is a lot of giorgio in the todd terje music imho =)
when that guitar comes in at 25:46 it makes me so happy :D
This performance is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen / heard in my entire life
Looks like 15 people thought this would be some type of DJ Mag big-room bullshit. Sorry, children :(
Durgenheim It's really stunning to see that people can actually dislike this. I can imagine this might not be your style but it's just too damn good. This guy is a god.

Durgenheim if you ever have the chance to see gesaffelstein live i recommend it a lot.
Martijnnaber I went to a festival to see TT, but none of my friends wanted to stay there at his scene and went to another artist. :(
jot0ub Where is the problem? I think that is awesome being alone in a concert, totally another feeling
the man's a genius.
this is the definition of freedom

A set for the history books! What a marvelous and wonderful performance. All hail maestro Todd Terje!!
This is magic! How can you not be in a good mood listening/watching this?
This is easily my most viewed show on UA-cam and I can't wait to finally see it in person this summer . For the love of TODD!
"Alright, now zoom in on the percussion again."
This is incredible stuff. I love Todd Terje's music and this is an amazing electronic/band combo concert. So good.
Why do I see this just now 🙂 Amazing!
Я в Восторге :) !!! Это лучший концерт из тех которые мне доводилось видеть!!! Море эмоций, живая музыка, инструменты, музыканты !!! Просто Супер !!!
One of the best sets on UA-cam by far
Todd Terje is so amazing.
STRANDBAR, DELOREAN DYNAMITE, RAGYSH, OH JOY, INSPECTOR NORSE - ABSOLUTELY AMAZING :D !!!

I love the DeLorean in the background :) Props to the whole 80s vibe TT brings
Absolutely amazing performance!
The fucking live version of the first song that he played is better than the studio version, fucking incredible !!
Todd, fantastic DJ, songwriter, and record producer!
Thanks for posting this video. Excellent performance.
I just fell in love with this
They must have gotten a soundcheck for this festival because this is really outstanding!
I once went to a Slagsmalsklubben concert. Same vibes, not one shit was given that night. They casually came onto the scene to have fun with a bunch of people who just so happened to be there too. Brian ferry.. Holy cow. What a set. All musicians involved, massive pat on back! X

Magnifique, Félicitations j'adore ❤
So good! I love how the songs mix into each other too. Nice set
That's a show that i would enjoy. Good music and real people playing it, not just pressing a play button.
Beautiful! Got this album on LP, but this live performance stole the show!
le final est superbe!, merci les artistes!
Even 5 years later....what an outstanding performance! Thank you Todd and his "band"!
I would play a shitload of money just for seeing him live.
Where's the new album? WHERE'S THE NEW ALBUM???
this set reminds me of a flint tropics half time show. Very tropical by Terje!
I love that hes rocking a mister saturdaynight shirt
Fascinante. I hope finally to see you live in Lisbon.
And we did, and it was an amazing groove!
This is SOOO GREAT!!!!
I absolutely love the chap on Percussion - whatever he was on that night - I'd like some please - he's the happiest person alive!
LOVE THIS MORE.... EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO IT AND I HAVE LOSS COUNT. I ALSO OWN BONGO'S NOW!!! AND LOVING LIVE! AWESOME MIX! THANKS SO MUCH :O) LIZA
Holy fuck, 57:36. That drum solo gave me goosebumps
Well well I don't usually hear techno music on a Wednesday because I'm always working and I need to be productive and not get caught on fun haha but I'm finally on holidays sooooo... Let's see Todd. Let's see
thanks for your music, todd terje!!!! ;)
Amazing!! from 1:07:27 to end! Inspecter Norse :D!
Damnit, Todd. Where have you been these last couple years? Grace the world with some tour dates or more magical music.
It's 2023 and still listening to this

forever
I first heard Alfonso Muskedunder through Better Call Saul. Really has a different energetic vibe, I dig it so much.
