Generally speaking, I've enjoyed Maceo's production i.e. Spotify tracks. I've also heard other people hate on him. With over an hour left to go in this set, I can't understand how people could hate on this man. Maybe they don't like the genre, which is fine. To each their own. The guy is a talented DJ though and this set is an absolute eargasm. I'll definitely be seeing him in April on the Polo fields. PLUR BABY!

I am sure we can both agree that the type of music we like 99% of the world would hate and only hear noise. That is just the nature of techno. While I can't disagree that you didn't like it and I am sure their are many others that didn't I can confirm 100% that I was not the only person to enjoy it as I have videos of the house going off during this track, It was also talked about as a highlight of the night within my circle of friends so they enjoyed it also, but again to each is own and just because we enjoyed it doesn't mean that you and your friends didn't at all. In my opinion it completely set a vibe while giving a moment to reset the house and setup for the final parts of his set. Have to bring the energy down in order to build it back up. I would say that one of the reasons I am a Maceo Plex fan is that he has his own sound and isn't too worried about what label is put on his music or sets by others. I have always found that he has been able to remain relevant for well over a decade by pushing the sound forward while also not giving into current trends and staying true to his own sound. Kind of like Warung itself. While the track itself isn't particularly amazing on its own and wouldn't fit into most sets, if any, I felt like it fit into his set on that night beautifully. It created a memorable moment that over a year later I hear for the first time and was instantly back to that exact point in time and remembering an amazing night with friends and music especially coming off of Covid lockdown. I heard tons of fantastic music that night, much of it I can't remember specifically and hearing it again wouldn't bring me back to an exact moment. So for me, this track was about bookmarking a brief moment in time for future remembrance while also providing a moment to pull you out of the current night to take a breather, remember where you, appreciate the night you are having, and letting the crowd know that we are going back into it deep for the remainder of the set.
He was this year... and I was also there, and to be honest Mainstage doesn't suit him... Don't get me wrong I love Maceo, but in the mainstage the dj has only 1 hour to perform... and the most annoying thing imho was that most of the people were not even enjoying his set... :( The connection was non existing between him and the crowd. Luckily he did another 3 hour set in the CORE stage the next day. Much better, the stage is amazing, in the middle of the forest, Tulum-like vibes of the stage and he delivered a great performance.... and the crowd (myself included) enjoyed every moment a lot. For me that was the best set of WE1.

No, you can't because playing in front of your bed and in front of 15.000 people on a steep hill, being "in your face", is not even comparable. I've listened to Maceo delivering masterclass performances on this stage for 5 years in a row, and many other DJs. His sets stand out every time because he is not afraid to experiment, every set is different than the one before ... He gave us so many great moments that one can never forget !

I hate when the DJ just play music and stares at people without any sign of emotion. Maceo seems to enjoy the music he plays and takes an active part amongst those party people. I remember the days when I used to play at the same party as Catz'n Dogs; however, I have never had the opportunity to play a set next to someone as exciting and passionate as Maceo, and probably I never will.

@@MattHeslington dude it was almost 8:30 AM at that time. Maceo took the stage at 5:30 in the morning and finished at 8:30 AM, he was the last DJ of the day in Dance Arena. I think people were a little tired and went back to their homes. 😁
I can't imagine there is a single DJ who wants HIS (or her) stage filled with lanyard wearing VIPs, chatting and playing with their phones. Boiler Room...fair one, that's a far more intimate setting. This is a festival, give the artist the stage!!

No, you can't because playing in front of your bed and in front of 15.000 people on a steep hill, being "in your face", is not even comparable. I've listened to Maceo delivering masterclass performances on this stage for 5 years in a row, and many other DJs. His sets stand out every time because he is not afraid to experiment, every set is different than the one before ... He gave us so many great moments that one can never forget !

I hate when the DJ just play music and stares at people without any sign of emotion. Maceo seems to enjoy the music he plays and takes an active part amongst those party people.
I remember the days when I used to play at the same party as Catz'n Dogs; however, I have never had the opportunity to play a set next to someone as exciting and passionate as Maceo, and probably I never will.
Maceo doesn't play anything he doesn't enjoy and there is no preset formula.And one more thing about Maceo. He is an excellent dancer.

@@MattHeslington dude it was almost 8:30 AM at that time. Maceo took the stage at 5:30 in the morning and finished at 8:30 AM, he was the last DJ of the day in Dance Arena. I think people were a little tired and went back to their homes. 😁

I can't imagine there is a single DJ who wants HIS (or her) stage filled with lanyard wearing VIPs, chatting and playing with their phones. Boiler Room...fair one, that's a far more intimate setting. This is a festival, give the artist the stage!!

La influencia en los 2010s de susonido tanto de dj como en productor es inegable , y me encanta q en sus set suenen varios estilo al final pone lo q le gusta y no lo aparta porque no sea esto o lo otro, hace el buen trabajo del dj ponerlo y que quede puta madre, se lo curra , por mi parte le admiro y sigo su ejemplo ... Grande Maceo .... P.D. Con lo serio y oscuro q parece si ves alguna entrevista de el , es muy simpatico y sabe hablar Español +10
