Given that the choice is between being ruled and being EATEN(Remember what the Unbidden/Aberrant/Vehement actually DO to planets and WHY)....I'd say 'saved' is accurate.
This Empire is an example of good story development. They started off as a bunch of wide eyed rocks beginning to brush shoulders with who their divine entities and now here we are... three hundred years later and now they are the war hardened defenders of the galaxy, punishing the wasteful with powers they could once not even comprehend and reaching into even higher planes of existence in a search for power and enlightenment. Truly, they have come a long way and changed a lot (unlike a lot of empires which stay stagnant in their roleplay philosophy).
and now, with their finest champions, they stand watch over the portal where the unbidden heretics first came through, ever watchful of the abyss, their vigilance unrelenting and all encompassing, always ready to intercept the unbidden whenever they send reinforcements through the portal the divines are truly proud of their earthly children this day
@@Lathland well thank you, Even if you didn't have time to tie off any loose ends the ending for the Divine planet protectors saga was plenty good enough
@@Lathland It's alright! It's far more important to take time off when necessary to take care of your family and other IRL business :) Besides, the ending is pretty good as it is.
I recently heard that Ion cannons can be useful in forcing the enemy to engage a fleet in a system; their range lets them shoot at targets almost halfway across the system (or more, haven't had a chance to test that), meaning the enemy fleet is engaged when they emerge from something such as a wormhole, Gateway, or L-Gate.
That is true. With the target upling computer it can do wonders. Especially useful in the L-cluster so your enemy doesn't simply bypass owned systems in there
5:34 because their territory and people were getting consumed by the unbidden and you were destroying massive amounts of unbidden (or at least pulling more force to your front).
love your vids lathrix, hopefully one day i wont be terrible at stellaris and can actually use your vids as guidance. and i hope your mother gets better quickly

When the new update comes out, containing the end game crisis instead of killing it could be a legitimate strategy for research cooperatives, as they get a research bonus during the crisis.
Hi Lathrix i have a suggestion that once you're done being a good guy you can try this out. You go with a theme and i very much enjoy. You are a machine intelligence and you choose between the robots who kill everyone, take everyone as a trophy and then my favorite assimilating everyone! But if i misunderstood something and these traits are too little or too much add traits that go with the theme for each faction. Now on the government civics, for S.N.D.Es civics Determined Exterminator, Warbots. For P.C.Es civics traits Zero-Waste Protocols, Rogue Servitor. C.I.Ms civics traits Driven Assimilator, Unitary Cohesion. Now that everything is done with that rules. You must play into the theme or give a valid reason why a different course of action is taken. You must add the other 2 factions into the game AND defeat them. You must use a tome world and use the fox portrait for the assimilators. You must be the strongest empire and defeat the crisis end game inorder for the victory to count. You can change how each faction acts if its within of rule number 1. You should play as your first federations Empire an Remnants origin of one of the empires you have previously played (probably a non-genocidal one, but one that would eventually get bored and retreat back to their home planet and wait to see what new would evolve in a few million years)
I suggest a new playthrough, you should be a group of suuuper greedy (preferably extremely or otherwise) adaptive reptilians that colonize literally any and all worlds that come into their grasp, even if a world wouldn't benefit you, you have to colonize it! (Besides maybe holy worlds cuz thats dumb lol)
I would just like to recommend the use of the ancient cache of technologies mod as well as the ACOT: sins of an empire mod for Stellaris. The 2 mods buff fallen empires as well as add in a new endgame crisis and 4 new tech tiers.
This would be a really cool concept for a fallen empire. Imagine a fallen empire that is containing the end-game threat for the entire game, and when the end-game even triggers, or when the fallen empire loses the system the threat is contained in, the threat is unleashed.
I hope your family is well and wish you a good day or days I do suggest a similar scenario to this game the Lathrixion observer empire, you can pick any species or traits you wish for this since I don’t know allll the options, but the idea is you grab a chunk of the galaxy, build up your walls n only observe the other species preparing for end game crisis, building all of your mega builds like ring worlds and more, won’ join others federation but you can choose to build your own federation for those juggernaughts, but if some species declares war onto you, you don’t hold back and leave them with nothing but one world to show your might to the rest of the galaxy! simply poke the sleeping bear, you get torn apart, you can rush science, use the origins to help you but the idea is..dont fight unless provoked and only seek out war when the crisis comes into play, plow through everything if you must cause your people prophecies says a great threat will come one year and come to destroy you all so that’s why your species are all observers if you read this Lathrix, thank you for your time and maybe even consideration for this weird scenario, i thought it might be cool to play the quiet kid kinda play style while learning sort of >3< *may the pillow gods grant you peace, wisdom and power to destroy enemies* Edit:i really hope you get to see this comment cause it took me the entire video and a little after to think dis up >3
Chris the Pillow stealer that’s a pretty cool idea. I think it would be more interesting/challenging if the empire could only fight defensively. No leaving the home turf whatsoever. The only way to win the war is to break the enemy against the bastions guarding the empire until they reach war exhaustion and are forced to accept status quo.
Antonio Sonntag True that would make it challenging, but i left lathrix a chance to show his good old sadistic side i personally love seeing in stellaris Note:it only works if they attack him, so he is defensive most of the time anyways
Chris the Pillow stealer but that’s the beauty of it. Lathrix’s goal for the season is to try to contain his bloodlust, to show that he isn’t full Blood Thirster (yet). Tell me it wouldn’t be hilarious watching him tear himself apart in agony as he has to deny himself the chance to roll over the entire galaxy.
Antonio Sonntag indeed hilarious but I believe it would break him..so I’m allowing a way to just...murder a whole lot at once to release that thirst, n if he tries he could get the other empires mad at him or actually make him well liked or do nothing with em
Thankfully the other Unbidden groups can only be summoned once the Unbidden themselves reach a certain % of the galaxies systems under their control, since they are now stuck in that little corner that will never happen. :)
I’m slightly skeptical of the potential for performance improvements. It might not mean anything, but I’ve only seen one of the Origins preview videos select anything other than a medium galaxy. At first I thought we’d get more videos than just one per channel pre-launch and they couldn’t pick anything larger to mask the poor performance, but it’s not really looking that way. Now the idea is stuck in my head. In the end, I’d rather get a pleasant surprise and be able to finish another run before the end of Summer than get all excited for improvements that never happen. At any rate, I really enjoyed this series and I’m really looking forward to seeing what you do with the new content.

@10:05 were you referring to potatoes with razerblades, or the terrifying, unstoppabl, (well, if you weren't there) swarm poised to sweep through the galaxy like an unending tide?
here is a challenge for after the dlc campaign is over standard campaign till the endgame crisis then armor up and set up a defense till all civilizations are destroyed but you and the crisis faction then defeat it lose condition a single system lost to the crisis faction(no save spam during crisis)
So next time you play you could try playing as a group of trash pandas who have NO value for the environment and with the end goal of joining the galactic senate and passing laws that allow everyone to poison worlds. - can build research labs on your capital and on relic worlds
- can build alloy foundries on your capital, which will turn into ecu
- cannot terraform worlds to ecus (except capital)
- must colonize every world you can
- cannot go synth or cyborg
What these rules mean:
- most of your worlds will have a lot of commercial zones, and each world should have a stock exchange
- most of your worlds will be full of districts
- you should go for either mechanist or serviles, probably serviles though
- your main species should be lithoid
- you should be xenophobe so you can have livestock
- you should be authoritarian for the extra worker production (you will have a lot of workers)
- your main species should be intellectual, a lithoid, conservationist,
- you should immediately switch to consumer benefit trade policy since you must make your cg factory into something else (like a commercial zone)
- making your capital world a research world will help your consumer goods just a bit
- in case you get a portal or other modifier that gives researcher jobs you can use them
- environmentalism is not really necessary, you don’t need to pick it as a third civic, should do something like merchant guilds.
