Hatching Call Duck Babies!

- We have got new family members. We took videos of hatching and 0-1 days after birth.
One of the babies has pale brown color on its back. Another has black color in its head and back. They are so cute. They follow us and ride on our hands by crawling. We are so happy!
It was very hard to get call duck eggs hatch.
I've heard call ducks babies need to be helped when hatching and their parents poke eggs to get babies out of eggs. I think it is because the beaks of call duck babies have too tiny round beaks to break eggshells.
We were watching over the eggs all day and started to peel the shells after the babies begun to cheep inside eggs. I was afraid that I would get the babies die because of careless or being too late when peeling shells. Eventually, we succeeded to get the babies out.
As a side note, call duck babies die if you peel egg shells too early. It is because an egg yolk isn't absorbed inside bodies of babies enough.

The Call Duck is a bantam bread of domesticated duck. Call ducks are smaller in size than other ducks.
Butchy is a pied color Call Duck, a boy and 6 years old. He has an unique color on the left side of his face, which looks like an eyebrow. (Butchy died a peaceful death in February, 2021. He was almost 7 years old.) Moko is a white one, a girl, 4 years old. Piko is a white one, a girl, one year old.

一匹一匹個体差があり
