      This was infuriating. And to hear her complain about her back and show concern for herself was disgusting just like her home. She's clearly a drug user, either meth or heroin. Possibly both. But that child deserves better and should be given to a loving family. People should require a license to have kids.

      They should keep her under lock and key until the baby is delivered. Fetal alcohol syndrome is so hard to see and EVERY mother tries to pretend there is nothing wrong w their child who isn't hitting any milestones and has other major issues. As long as they deny it, then they can't be responsible in their wet brain.

    • @LizaFergison
      @LizaFergison 8 місяців тому

      @@miaknig3130 I donated to a rescue home for children with foetal alcohol syndrome, and took baby clothes to them.
      In the early hours of every day, they have to check the grounds for babies who were abandoned there.
      It is easily recognised on their faces, and they cry incessantly as they go through the agony of withdrawal from alcohol. Anybody visiting the centre was asked to not have any perfume or scented deodorant on their skin, as they may upset a baby. I have 1 child and I didn't touch alcohol in pregnancy. Even when she was growing up, I never drank.
      I know alcoholism might make that very difficult, but a child is way more precious than a drink.

    • @ayishas4385
      @ayishas4385 8 місяців тому +33

      I think the weight is often a sign of poor self-care, rather than a sign of overindulgence. Because these parents are not what you would call "healthy". A lot of people in affluent countries are overweight, including those who have happy homes, but the obesity "epidemic" is worse among those from poorer situations and less-educated backgrounds. Obesity in affluent countries isn't caused as much by a particular individual's overeating habits as by culture-wide poor eating habits that form insulin resistance (there's excess sugar in most foods). And if a mom is struggling with depression or any sort of mental health issue, this is likely to worsen her obesity, which in turn will worsen the depression. NOT saying obesity or depression is an excuse for child neglect and abuse, but if a mom is spiraling into a bad mental state where she's not taking care of her child, it's not unusual that she's not been taking care of herself hygienically. So I think that's why you sometimes see the neglect and obesity go together. (When you see thin & neglectful, it's usually meth.)

    My sons father got a DUI with our 4 year old in the car. It was right after he and I had separated. They charged him with DUI with a child, child endangerment and gave my son a 2 year restraining order. He couldn't come near our son for 2 years. However.. it really was a horrible mistake he made. After about 6 months and getting treatment I started allowing him to have supervised visits. After a few more months I allowed him to take our son for the day and after about a year he was getting him for weekends. He really was a great father that loved his son as much as anyone else. He had a drinking problem and our separation triggered him and he started drinking again. Thankfully he did everything he could to make it right. But sadly several years later he relapsed again, was only seeing our son when he would stay at his moms and ended up having a massive stroke and brain bleed. He was brain dead by the time he reached the hospital. I really wish things had been different the last year of his life. Not only has our son had to deal with his death but also rarely seeing his dad the last year. All because of alcohol. Its crazy the hold it has on some people.

      I am a RN and have cared for kids who were born with severe fetal alcohol syndrome. It’s devastating to see. Worst case I saw was a child who was left non-verbal, paraplegic and required tube feedings for all of his nutrition. He was 17 then but was the size of a grade school aged child. I wasn’t privy to whatever happened to his birth mother as he was a ward of the state. That was way back in 2004. I think about that boy often and he’s probably long since passed away as he had some pretty severe pressure ulcers (all the way to the bone) on his backside and a host of other complications. It’s so incredibly selfish to do that to a child. I wish all mothers who do such a thing would be sentenced to mandatory community service at the group homes and special schools in which many of these children stay. They should have to see the devastating effects of FAS. But. Thats just me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

There are numerous resources out there, and based on the Section 8 type apartment she seemed to be "sleeping all day" in - she had those resources at her fingertips at all times.
