You should hook up with the blokes from Fishing the Wild, in NT. They need someone with underwater filming skills, and you need to get back into some water with fish in it. You won't get taken by a croc or tiger shark, because they have someone looking out from the boat. Safe as houses.
Those guys are producing some very high quality films. Not sure I’d do too much swimming in that part of the world. Loads of fish here in the Atlantic... in certain areas.

Great Vid Dan, doing the hard yards mate. Reminds me of a couple of State tiles here. Last one, Pat M .... Grand Master,65 + led me and some young blokes 2kms over a mountain to dive for not much. Young blokes didn't do the distance. Looking forward to the next instalment
I personally don't agree with spearfishing competitions, they tend to take a lot of fish from a relatively small area, of course smaller competitions are fine, but once they get to a certain size they just seem like they're doing unnecessary damage to the fish population. It just doesn't sit right with me most of the time. But anyway, as always, loved the video and I look forward to more in the future!
Each to their own. The format of competitions with one fish per species are much better than a bunch of weekend warriors smashing one target species in my opinion.
Perhaps next year. Ran out of annual leave for this year. I’ve also shot many amberjacks in Australia so not so fussed on them but the others I’d love to spear.
We will be waiting for others to be shown on that stringer then. I suggest mid spring or mid autumn days. Small blue fish and squid tend to migrate in that time of the year. Next year mate!

I used to see a few schools when i was in the sth of france, but never had the chance to give it a go. Also something cool was the run of dorade in a town called sete. There where hundreds of fishos with guys spearing in between them. It was mayhem. Keep up the good work!

Can you use those runner little carb gel packs for energy while diving or is it a bad idea with cramps? Thinking for tournaments like this where you are your only means of propulsion.

Thanks Pedro. I actually twist copper strand around the neck of the bottle to form a loop on either side. Then a piece of cord between the loops and a swivel clip in the middle. Keeps the bottle dragging behind the float evenly without spinning out of control, tangling everything in the stringer.
Gunna have to get myself some kit to try spearfishing always assumed you needed some form of license as with most things here in the UK so never looked into it.

Competitions are a great way to learn. A lot of the best divers in the world have competition backgrounds.
