Awesome my kids love watching your vids that's why we have made a utube channel what we get up to on our weekends hunt fish the kiwi way dwn the malbrough sounds new Zealand..herbs kiwi experience 😁😁thanks for inspiring us u the man dan
This is perfect. Go for a dive myself and then the next day here's another brand new video by Dan the Mann, which is always good for picking up a few tips as to what I did wrong! Cracking video mate.
I saw a pollock here that size today in New Hampshire for the first time ever although the viz was only about 6 feet. What a beautiful day to be in the water there.
@@DanielMann that they do. Although big 6 to 8 foot Atlantic sturgeon will freak you out a bit more when they come out of the murk at you. Is it a shark.....? Or a gigantic armored dinosaur fish?
Daniel Mann, Nice Work on the vid, as we've come to expect. Format of the competition looks great avoiding impact to the fishery. 1) Referring back to the 'Sans Speargun' vid. It seems that a 'Hawaiian Sling' in three or two shaft pieces might fit your bag when a big(er) gun is inconvenient for travel.......... Just a thought.
Hey, i have a very important question. do camo wetsuits make any difference? How to attract and catch Goliath Grouper? How to gey closer to them? I love your videos its fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing your skills.
@@DanielMann in here Maldives its ok to hunt Goliath Grouper. But in here Maldives speare gun is not allowed so i am using a hawwaiian sling to hunt fish.
Hey! Just started freediving and spearfishing, in northern Norway. Quick questions, how do you deal with having a beard, specifically a moustache, and keeping the mask waterproof? And how limiting do you feel a 75cm Gun is? Not going to be shooting halibut anytime soon necessarily.
I love your content dude, keep doing what you're doing and always stay safe and goodluck everytime you go spearfishing hope you catch some good fish and some other things.
I'm wanting to get in to spear fishing like no tomorrow I was planning on doing a guided tour but this virus has put a stop to that I guess. Just wanted to know if you have any tips for someone that doesn't know alot on how to get in to it?
Hi Daniel, is this comp open to rookies? Used to free dive in South Africa growing up and getting back into it over here now. Its more to meet like minded guys and I'm moving to Weymouth so this would be an awesome event to get involved in.
Hey Jonathon, if they let me dive, it’s definitely open to rookies 😂 There is a strong South African influence within the club so I’m sure you’d feel right at home with the braai after the competition. Not sure if it will be on this year due to you know what.
Yes for sure, I could hear all the accents. I saw on one of your videos in Tonga, you went out with Hylton Wess (Ocean Assassin), we've been mates for a long time as we grew up in the same town. Need some kind of home in my blood again... Haha
Would you do a subscriber special spearfishing video? I'm from central Canada where we don't get these opportunities. I am thinking of coming to Australia to live the dream and it would be awesome for someone to show me the ropes! great vids, keep the quality content coming!
@@DanielMann I wanna end it's suffering quick but having hard time while killing fish. Especially the flat ones. If you can make a tutorial about that it would be appreciated. Thanks.
Great to see companies sponsor events like these, and great video :)
Andy's ruthless enthusiasm is contagious. Makes a bloke want to swim everywhere in the UK, chasing the big fish.
It does inspire a man 😂
Awesome my kids love watching your vids that's why we have made a utube channel what we get up to on our weekends hunt fish the kiwi way dwn the malbrough sounds new Zealand..herbs kiwi experience 😁😁thanks for inspiring us u the man dan
Awesome job in the comp!! And I believe this is how all dives should be, just catching a few of every species so the pressure ain't all on one!
Further to that learning how to cook different fish species as well 👌
@@DanielMann - _EXACTLY_ !
Haha UK or Aus seems the SA C-ski and skivees are everywhere. Love your work
Excellent stuff Dan ..... again. It looks like a great comp. Thanks.
Those Pollack are safe from me, oh and great shorts.
Excellent!
Amazing friendly atmosphere.
Dan the MC man. Love your work mate!
Ugh that delicious looking chili is going to haunt my dreams tonight. Loving the content Daniel, have a good one.
It was something else that’s for sure. A tad messy when you’re munching down on a lobster claw covered in sauce.
Vibey video. Good work all round!
Really enjoyed that, thanks!
wagwan my g big up the amn jack and andy for taking the dub
my dons da the man splendid vid mans enjoying da tings

Great stuff again! The storytelling ability really lets everyone enjoy even if they arent into fishing - love it!
Thank you sir!
Daniel, if you ever came to Brazil, we would be pleased to show you some spots.
That curry looks amazing!!!!!!!👌 please do catch and cook with that curry 😍
It has to be tasted to be believed. I’ll get the recipe and give it a crack.
Daniel Mann can’t wait!! Hopefully you upload it soon
What a lovely event and community
Liked before I even started watching. Why you ask? Because not once have I been disappointed with one of your videos.

Especially after a bad night sleep.
Nice work Daniel. Love seeing videos like this
Cheers man!
Great as always mate! That comp looks like fun. Would love to shoot a big Pollack one day.
Point that boat NW long enough and you’ll find one 🤷♂️
Daniel Mann u fortunately we don’t have the space for all the extra neoprene required...
Nice video again dan 👌
That curry looks amazing 😊

Shame about the poor visibility. Pollock look mean underwater with those massive eyes.

I really like your videos broo keep the good work 😉
Nice fella👌hey quick question do U use medium strength fins or stiff? Carbon or fibre glass?
Soft carbon.
Great stuff! Which wreck was it you dived, if you don't mind me asking.. The St Dunstan?
Not sure what it was called, I just called it ‘long way down’ 😂
Haha, gotta go deep for those big Pollack!

I’ve tried to get a hold of a pole spear but haven’t committed just yet. Either that or a travel gun.
Colin, what a hero
I have been looking forward to this one. As usual I'm sure it won't disappoint
Thanks man
Great content great video love it!! NEW FRIEND 👍😉
Big up Dan, great video!
Cheers Cristian!
You gotta up your shorts game bro:) Great vid as usual, looked like fun! - Shrek
Daniel you need to be diving more LOL. Love you vids keep them up. Marcus Pringle Bay SA
Love how the weighmaster is a South African:) Us Saffa's are everywhere! Definitely sounds like he's from Durban.
Great vid as always Daniel ;) , i didnt catch what gun you use and is it customised or used from shelf?
There’s a link in the description for them. Pretty box standard.

I’m not sold on camo wetsuits, I like a black suit personally.
@@DanielMann thank you man for your reply. Can you answer to my second question please?
Never speared Goliath grouper and they are protected in a lot of places.

I shave the top 5mm of my lip and a 75cm is fine for cod, pollock & flatfish 👌
I love your content dude, keep doing what you're doing and always stay safe and goodluck everytime you go spearfishing hope you catch some good fish and some other things.

Here in Australia we have Bream that are a little less dark in colour there called yellowfin bream there everywhere her there great eating to
Shot plenty of those as a young whipper snapper.

Trav Morgan yeah true it is pretty cool
Why are there so few fish there, grounds look great
There are a lot of fish, just depends on the time of day and tides etc.
Ahhh another upload. Haven't watched yet but I'm sure I won't be disappointed
So nice and warm up there isn't it
Water was a balmy 17°C.
Great vid as always

Nice organization
@Daniel Mann Hello is killing the fish before putting in to the ice is needed or can we put it the injured fish?
Always best to kill the fish as soon as possible, then into the ice.

In 2 days the Halibut festival championship starts too .
