Two Seals Joined Together By Fishing Line

Bright early morning sun makes it much harder to spot entanglements. Most mornings are misty and foggy at Pelican Point, but today the rescuers are dealing with blinding sunshine. The rescuers know what to look out for and they spot two seals that are connected through several metres of fishing line. They know that those animals have no chance to survive very long if they do not get help now, and they do their very best to catch them both in separate nets as quick as possible, before they continue to strangle each other. Wally rescues a "side seal" and drags him along to his team mates to help them with the double rescue.
The lack of infection and visible cuts makes us believe that this double entanglements was caught very early, both seals had not been affected much, and they will continue their lives healthy and strong, as they should. It is our best case scenario in a horrible and totally avoidable situation. 🦭
