This was an excellent comparison video. Both of these were recommended by my podiatrist for my chronic plantar fasciitis. I’m getting both . The descriptions were great.
Great comparison. Never used the NB, only tried them on. I have the On’s and am SO glad I got them. I don’t respond well to too much cushiness, it feels like extra work. And I have wide toe splay, so I actually noticed and appreciated that almost “baggy” feel (dammit Altra, make ANYTHING good and I’ll buy!) So yea, different stuff works for different folks. Appreciate these random comparisons!
I have the More V4 and had the Cloudmonster in the past. For me, no contest: the More V4 by a mile and then some. The Cloudmonster is a good shoe and better than various other On shoes I've tried but the More V4 is probably the best easy/recovery category shoe out there right now.
More V4 is probably the best long run shoe I have ever worn. I ran 8 miles in those shoes last week and I didn't even feel tired. It made me feel like I could've ran more. Probably the only shoe more comfortable than that is the New Balance SC Trainer (IMO)
Great video, as always. I enjoyed running in Cloudmonsters but the sole in the heel and forefoot completely wore out in less than 200 miles. When the black rubber wears out the shoe wares down incredibly fast making the pods very unstable. Actually so unstable that I couldn’t even walk in the shoes.
The rubber placement is questionable… right in the mid foot there are pods with no rubber, and they are SHREDDED after 100m. Haven’t noticed the rubber itself wearing faster than normal, but I believe ya
I tried the NB more V4 and they felt like strapping wood blocks to my feet. I did not feel the cushioning. I run in the Nike Invincible, now that is cushioning.
Most of my running in 2021 was in the On Running Cloudstratus V2, and so I thought that the lighter and more cushioned Cloud Monster would be much better for me. But I don’t really enjoy the Cloud Monster as much. The upper is a bit baggy and unsupportive, the midsole is soft but without energy return. The outsole wears down quickly as well.
Love my Cloudmonster. I use mine for daily miles and it works great. Tried on the More V4 and it felt clunky to me but never ran in it. I’d like to run in them eventually.
Having both shoes I do find myself loving the ON cloudmonsters so much more they are just more fun to run in and they do feel much lighter than my v4's. And so far at 250 miles on my cloudmonsters they are still running strong , I like them so much I bought 2 pair
Would love to see a comparison with the ASICS Glideride 3 to really zero in on the More V4’s performance as a long-run cruiser (although I don’t think I’ve seen The Run Testers reviewing the Glideride 3 at all 😢)

do you maybe have 1080 v12 too?
Ran a 14mile run in the V4 and hot damn they felt great!!

Can you also compare NB More v4 with Nimbus 25?

Picked up my More V4s tonight managed to get for £102.00, albeit in red so not so great colourway. Great vid as every
on johnlewis website for £70, but there's only size 11 left
That’s a great price
New Balance are the greatest shoes 💪

Because they don’t have it
I found V4 heel goes down too low while trying them on. Maybe good for running, but really strange while walking or standing.
I just can't get onboard with the looks of the midsoles of ON running shoes. The cutouts don't work aesthetically for my tastes.
Cloudmonster are casual shoes, I wouldn't recommend them for running.
Cloudmonster sucks.
Thats all.
