I chose pile 2 but lol I had to hop out because I was like I’ll be dammed if that’s the gossip on me because lol I don’t even hang around that many people to have influences like that then I went to pile one and I was like okay 👍🏾 but idk when people don’t know you and what’s going on they come up with anything! Even if it’s really negative. You can’t win with the public so it’s best to not even bother.
Pile 1: oddly tailored to my situation. Yesterday, I attended an art stroll (240+ pieces) at my job (art gallery/performing arts center). Some of the artists there were from my artist guild. I chatted people up even though I didn’t submit any artwork this time around (ongoing hiatus). The woman who recruited me asked if I had artwork showcased for this exhibit. My response was a hard “no” and I moved the attention back to her artwork, asked her to tell me about her piece. She was dumbfounded that I hadn’t submitted art. This one guy I met, gave me an indirect reality check of “you work here at an art gallery, you’re part of a renown art group, and you get commission offers without you having to beg people. Why are you not participating in this big event?” That got to me. I was dressed to the nines (as per usual) and it was apparent these people I conversed with, were trying to scope out as to why I didn’t partake in the exhibit. They didn’t ask, but it was written all over their faces. I have an eye for detail, so it didn’t make sense to them why the radio silence.
