I know contents been a bit sparse the last few days and some of you might've been expecting some Valhalla stuff but I've decided to wait. It's been a bit awkward having this week between the reveal and the gameplay trailer as I really want to make content, but it'd be outdated within days so I've decided to do some after the gameplay comes out.
I've currently reading the AC Unity book and there seems to be an inconsistency between what is described in the book and what you mention here. In the book it is stated by Jessica Scott (Haytham's older sister) that Lucio Albertine was killed by templars after Haytham had died and in the games it was Haytham who killed Lucio. Are the books or the games considered "canon" in this case?

I really like how Haytham is pretty much the only "good" Templar that we ever see. AC3 and AC Rogue really show that there are good and bad people on both sides, and that it's not as simple as "Assassins good, Templars bad."
Torres was a charitable man. Robert de Sable wasn’t a bad man either. It’s important to remember for every Templar killing an innocent. There is an Assassin doing the same Or are we pretending Ezio didn’t kill a lot of people on Cappadocia? That Hope wasn’t poisoning people. Or that the Assassins support the Ottomans’ conquest (this is why Vali Cel Tradat left the assassins; his own brotherhood support his people being killed and conquered.

It was tragic that Haytham was abducted into the Templar order. He lost his father, his mother, his sister, he killed his former friend braddock, and his wife left him-dying in a fire, their son eventually killed Haytham himself despite the fact that they both were reaching middle ground were it not for Charles lee. To be honest, Braddock was right about Haytham. He died arrogant of the life he was living. But what pains me is that Haytham knew he was going to die. That fight between him and Connor was meaningless but had meaning to the story.
In Assassin's creed rogue one of the war letter's says that if Braddock was the one that attacked the kenway mansion he would have killed Haytham along with Edward
Such an accurate comment. Hopefully we'll see a Haytham game someday, but I highly doubt it considering how such a shitty company ubisoft is and also that the AC franchise has dramatically changed from what it used to be, so it's unlikely they'll turn back.

Haytham lets connor kills him. My mind cannot be changed. The man knows about the blade, the assassin, and the techniques. He also seemed to have the experience. Its seems too unlikely that he just messed up when he got the upperhand. Besides, he could've just kill connor there without strangling him if he wanted to.
I won't go overboard and say that Haythem lets Connor kills him. Between his son and Templar mission obviously he still lean toward the Templar cause. He just can't be determined to kill his son, on the other hand Connor is always ready to kill his father.
Agree an experienced templar knows assassins wear hidden blades haythem left his neck exposed he couldnt bring himself to kill connor so he sacrificed himself for his son

Honestly think that Haytham should have been the focus of AC3, not Connor, telling not only the story of the Colonial Assassins, but also the Templars of the time (better than rogue). We honestly should have seen more from him than what was in the game and Forsaken, which had a limited audience.
I agree! Playing AC3 it feels like Corey May had more passion for Haytham than he did for Connor. I know it wouldn't happen but a game travelling the world as Haytham from birth to death would be incredible and the ultimate Templar game!

As much as I love Haytham, and I really do love the guy. I think he's the best part of AC3. But, oftentimes I can't help but think that Haytham had to have been hit on the head a lot of times. No sound person would willingly stay with the order that killed their father, and sold off their sister. If anything, it should have been enough reason for him to fuck off along with his sister and live better lives together.

i one million percent recommending assassin's creed: forsaken! the whole book is from the point of view of haytham. it shows his childhood and how he saved his sister all that jazz
Haytham is one of my favourite characters in Assassins Creed. His father and son are assassins but he chooses to become a Templar. I wish we got to see a Haytham game. His story is very sad and his philosophy is very interesting and he is my favourite Templar he isn’t cartoonishly evil like Rodrigo Borgia Cesare Borgia or Germain. He is a great anti hero. You can see the nobility in him saving the natives and saving his son Connor even though he was a threat to the Templar order. But he also has a dark side wanting to kill Achilles and killing enemies even though Connor wanted to spare him. The moment where Haytham says he’s proud of Connor before dying made me shed a tear.

It definitely should have been. The book AC Forsaken should have been the plot of Rogue. It should have showed us how Haytham struggled between his father's legacy and the order he was brainwashed into joining.
Probably wouldn't care much, Edward didn't really care for the order that much. Its not like Edward taught Haytham the ideology of the Assasins, he only taught him how to fight like one.

I've read the book but I really enjoy Haytham's character. Thank you for sharing your video. Might we get a theory video on what you think would happen if Edward had survived or if Jennifer had been trained like Haytham, knowing the things she knew? I think one of the greatest shames is keeping Jenny away from the action because she knew things and was very observant. I think she'd have made a great difference in Haytham's life if she'd had the skill to fight and defend herself. Also her relationship with Haytham wouldn't have been so bitter.
She lived to be very old, about 90 I think. After she moved back to London she cut everyone off, even Haytham as she didn't like that he remained a Templar after killing Birch. Weirdly she actually worked a bit with Elise to try and form a truce between the Assassins and Templars.

what I don't understand is why Lee and the rest of templar under Haytham act like a complete assholes when saving the native is one of their goal. they want to gain the native trust by beating one of their child, insulting their way of life and on top of that burning their village?? really? please don't tell me its not one of those lazy way to make things more dramatic because its just make no sense.

Might we get a theory video on what you think would happen if Edward had survived or if Jennifer had been trained like Haytham, knowing the things she knew? I think one of the greatest shames is keeping Jenny away from the action because she knew things and was very observant. I think she'd have made a great difference in Haytham's life if she'd had the skill to fight and defend herself. Also her relationship with Haytham wouldn't have been so bitter.

She lived to be very old, about 90 I think. After she moved back to London she cut everyone off, even Haytham as she didn't like that he remained a Templar after killing Birch. Weirdly she actually worked a bit with Elise to try and form a truce between the Assassins and Templars.

@@WalshieYT1 Elise was after Haytham's letters right? If I remember correctly, the contents of those sort of show an attempt by Haytham to reconcile the Templar and Assassin philosophies.

A lot of this comes from the book "Forsaken" that follows Haytham, as well as Assassin's Creed Initiates.

what I don't understand is why Lee and the rest of templar under Haytham act like a complete assholes when saving the native is one of their goal. they want to gain the native trust by beating one of their child, insulting their way of life and on top of that burning their village?? really? please don't tell me its not one of those lazy way to make things more dramatic because its just make no sense.

Haytham's mother dose not make any sense to me, Haytham was training with the sword under his father meaning one day he was gonna use those skills to kill other weather that was for good or evil. He saved her life an she like "oh YoUr a KiLlEr nOt My SoN" like wtf that makes no sense at all!
