EDIT: Just received the RB4115 wrap style Ray Bans directly from Ray Ban. Larger case than normal, looks fake, but the info packet is legit, box is perfect. But the case is smooth grain, with the larger stitching. I think I might take them in to Sunglasses Hut to see if they think they're real
The stitching on the case is also different. The length of each stitch is longer on the fakes and it looks looser. Shorter stitches uses more thread and makes a tighter/stronger seam.
can you tell me what that mean 1 colors , 2 Colors in Ray Ban Glasses 🙏

@@MsLee-oh7hy or any store which is selling legit stuff. Optic store or im my case boarder store. Its basicly tipe od store near the boarder where you can buy glasses, watches, perfumes, liquer, women and man bags, wallets, candies... You can buy stuff cheaper because of they're concrats with the companies and you can buy some stuff tax free. Well depends of the price. For the Ray ban aviat definitly you can get tax return. Its Like one of these shops on the airports. I Got mine for about 175$. Maybe a little too much because its not polarized glass but still aviat is mine favorite and i didnt want to order it online because of covid situation and possible damaging. I saw how some postmans handle packages and its Like "how far i can trow my frizby". And raybans are not that much secure for that kind of handeling. Some phones with hard boxes or some clothes yes but glasses, liqers, parfumes... And of course if you want to order it order it from the official site. other ones not. I didnt because of the waiting time and they would not Cost me that much if i ordered them. Iam from Croatia soo this price was good purchase.
I work at a Sunglasshut and it's always funny having customers mumble to themselves that they are fake when Sunglasshut is owned by Luxottica...and Luxottica owns Ray-Ban haha

In 2001 I bought my Rayban's at Sunglasshut. My RB 2045 Cutters w3289 serve me still today.
The magic of Rayban's is that they mostly use " real glass " lenses.
Real glass vs plastic and other materials = real glass is heavier, but don't scratch that easy.
My Rayban's are now 21 years, and still look good and are amazing to use.
So guys get your Rayban's at Sunglasshut !
Great service, good prices, and excellent quality.
Ps some beauties in their shops too.
I bought a pair of Ray Ban Olympia,s I’ve always wanted and wondered if they were authentic, from all my research looks like they are. Anyway they look great. The lady that waited on me was very friendly and nice. Got a discount too.
$70 for a fake? Damn I paid $12 on aliexpress lol
Aliexpress itself is a fake version of the real Amazon
and i bought fake one in just 2.9$ with under writing and same fake model and without box
lahore, pakistan
in India fake Ray-Ban $5 only and real Ray-Ban $100 +
Cheap sunglasses are generally between $10-30 depending on the brand and the quality. They can’t be ripped off because there’s no point to pretending plastic frames are acetate. Rayban will always be expensive but you get them for less on legit gray market sites and you can get used authentic Raybans for a substantial discount.
Bought some in Chinatown for $20 cuz who cares 😂
Conclusion of this video is, if you need macro lenses to spot the difference, it means they really nailed it with the replica.
they definitely put in $60 worth of effort!
If all you're interested in is fake name brand and not decent lenses that are good for your eyes, yes. Truth is they are probably made in the same factory 🤷♂️
@@SGW4K probably not made in the same factory real ones are not made in china and it’s in a very professional factory in Italy
As long as the fake ones still have the UV protection who cares right?
forget the frame, its the lenses. You get crap lenses with fakes. If you dont care about lenses, then i see no reason to buy Ray Bans or any high end sunglasses. Just buy cheap 20 pound ones in the style you like
The Fake and The Original - the production cost was probably the same for both of these pairs- that's funny.
Yup.. And a $20,000 Rolex cost no more than $40 to make. Unless it has rare materials like gold
@@PsychoBenches True - but Rolex indeed is using good / expensive materials. Of course a big part from the price is ... 'branding'. The situation with glasses - same acetate frame cost 10 times more just because of the ... 'branding'. Ray Ban (same materials) long time ago was around 35 to 50 bucks - after Luxottica bought the brand suddenly they cost around 150$ or more. Branding != quality as it was on the past - on 80's a product price was related to it's quality, today is related to the brand - the connection quality / price is not important anymore. Humanking wannabe 'someone' therefore the need for validation trough 'high end brands'. Hmm ....
Luxottica owns Ray Ban and makes Ray Bay without the lettering for 1/3 the price. They also make 95% of all glasses and sunglasses.
But it doesn't say Ray Ban on them. While I do agree with you, such is the market for style. I can get a pair of sunglasses from a dollar store, but again... brand.
@@привет_лунатикам Right. They put the Ray Ban lettering on for their Ray Ban store and leave it off for their cheaper sales. Both are the same glasses.
Where?
@@JimS870 Slight fit and finish might be better on the name brand and the seconds and thirds go to Walgreens and the Dollar Store to unknown names. Does not justify a 500% to 1200% mark up. You can buy "real" Timberlands in Korea for $20 made on the same machines that the US bound Timberlands are for $120. They just go out the back door instead of the shipping door.
Baserocklove There’s a reason why this information isn’t apparent/easily accessible. It’s meant to be none of your business sadly.
I actually found an undamaged pair sitting on a dresser in the furniture dumpster at a recycling drop off. Thanks to this video I'm 100% certain mine are genuine, pretty cool to find a free pair of Ray Ban 3025 aviators!

"Real Ray Ban" cost $15 to make but retails at $150 "Fake Ray Ban" cost $20 to make but retails $54. Which is the real fake? Are we also comparing the quality of the manual and stickers?
Couldn't agree more. I'm so glad I bought my fake Ray-Bans when they were $30. He was more concerned about stickers and manuals you never use or wear on your face ,than a millimeter hidden behind the ear and letters you need a microscope to read.
This is the comment I was looking for
You can feel the difference in build quality and quality of materials. Fake Ray Bans feel like shitty gas station sunglasses and until you've owned a pair of authentic Ray Bans you can't possibly comprehend the difference. Not to mention fake sunglasses don't have any regulation on the lenses they use so you can be damaging your eyes and not even realizing it with a junk fake pair just because you're a cheap skate. It's much more than a box or sticker. Quit being an idiot.
As anyone with half a brain cell knows the main difference is in the quality of the lenses, materials and construction, and their ability to give you a ‘crystal clear’ image whilst protecting your eyes at the same time. Chinese rip-offs won’t give you quality glass or construction. As the old adage goes, you only get what you pay for.
@@56GumballThe Rayban company has factories in China as well.

Anyone else actually impressed with the knock off packaging??
Yes but in person you’d 110% know the packaging is fake if you’ve ever owned real ray bans. Just got real ones today and any quality downgrades would definitely be noticeable because everything is just so flawless on the real ones.
@@Hghhhs I've had 2 pairs, but they're prescription glasses, not sunglasses. I'm impressed with the quality and comfort though. The packaging for mine is different tho, obviously.

I have bought 2 pairs of Ray Ban's classic aviator, both original and check this out: the first pair: silver frame and mirrored lenses with a black case and the second pair: gold frame and green lenses ( the more classic) and a brown case and guess what: I've noticed that difference too: the black case is thicker than the brown one and they're both original. Maybe that's how they do them. Let me know what you think about this
Yes there are different case sizes. For example the oval or round have a slimmer case size. Whereas there's also a bigger case
Even sixty is too much. Sunglasses are cheap to make. Luxxotica has you suckers fooled
Thats the same as 99% of all things in life. We the consumer get screwed by markups. Havnt you ever watched shark tank where people are selling products for 120% over cost??
The sunglass Hut ray bans are heavier because they use glass lenses where as the fake ones are plastic - I work for Luxottica 😎
Hey so actually the fakes did have glass lenses (I checked afterwords) however the metal frames were complete Trash felt like the cheeper metal ever. Where the real ones felt very strange and substantial.
Also it’s really cool that you work for Luxottica! But my question is are you guys even trying to stop fakes? Because about 80% of everything being sold on eBay is fake these days..
Shade Review unfortunately there isn’t really anything being done to stop it. It’s really up to eBay to stop all the counterfeit products. I recently bought some fake beats headphones on eBay. It pretty much turned me off from getting anything else on eBay.
If you aren't a moron you'd just get polycarb lenses anyway. Mine are prescription.
Ballsack You can’t get authentic prescription Ray-Ban lenses in glass, only polycarbonate or high-index
Just spit the truth they cost 30$ to make 😂
I bought real Ray-Bans in hope of them being higher quality but they felt really cheap. Save yourself some money and buy the fake ones.
Exactly. You can buy Ray Bans Knock-offs for 5-10 euros from a market and they can do exactly the same job as the real ones. Maybe the frame do not have fancy writing on it,and maybe the hinges feels a little worse, but the lenses feels and look the same. They scratch just as easy, and you can buy 10 pairs of fake sunglasses for the price of a real one. I own a pair of real RB Aviators as in this video. They look so bad that everyone thinks they are fake (Because everyone thinks REAL ones cant scratch or look bad) I really try to search youtube for a REAL argument why real RB are better than fakes, but i have yet to find a legit reason. Who cares if the clean clothe is nicer,or the case is slightly better quality? Are you wearing those? Hmm ONLY reason to why buy legit sunglasses is because no one should support the illegal fake market. People working as slaves for no money and all that kinds of thing.
@@Kenneth86666 Great point! But honestly speaking, I don’t think you’d want to support Luxotica neither since they’re monopolizing the whole glasses industry. And their CEO said in an interview: “Things are worth what people are ready to pay for”. In other words: “I love charging 200$ for something that cost 10$ to make since people buy it’’. But yeah indeed, slavery is no good.
Be careful with fakes. Get them UV tested before wearing them. Your eyes dilate when you wear sunglasses and if they don’t have a UV light filter you can be harming your eyes by exposing them to harmful UV rays. It can cause eye cataracts or even eye cancer.
@@340395Andres You can check if they are polarized with an LCD screen. In my case I didn’t need the original lenses since I pretty much just needed the frames to get it relensed. Good advice though
I can guarantee you that everybody that loves the brown Ray-Ban‘s are just getting aviator glasses that look like Ray bans in the popular of r ay bandsgetting less customers cause of how expensive their glasses is And since they have stickers to put on your glasses
the ebay box looks like something a crackhead would try to sell me in NY

Real Ray's are actually made in two locations Italy and China. The Chinese versions are authentic as well, made with same exact materials and is under Luxxotica Corps. So those are real Ray's as well but true to Chinese work ethic is nowhere near as good as Italian ones. Do your research please

You are missing the most important test : a UV protection test done by a machine at reputable sun glass stores. This machine will provide a number from 0 to 600 for full UV ray protection. No this should be an answer to Karely Salas comment. My mistake, sorry.
You should know exactly what’s you looking for as Rayban Vintage USA, because now Rayban has been produced from Italia.
They were produced in the U.S. until the mid 1980ies, then in Italy until almost 2000; then mainly relocated their whole production to china where now nearly all Ray ban sunglasses are made; with only few exceptions to italy, where only prototypes and new coatings / models / designs are built in low quantities.

The real crime here is still charging over $50 for sunglasses. Charging as much as they do for cheap plastic pieces. I’ve always worn polarized sunglasses but $150+ is outrageous. The whole eye wear industry is owned by Luxotica. They own Sunglass Hut, Pearl Vision, Vision Works, Chanel, Ray Ban, Ralph Lauren, ect. They alone control the market almost entirely. It’s a complete racket.
They don’t own Maui Jim, Randolph, Garrett Leight, SunGod, Native, Costa. And many many more so no they don’t have a monopoly there are other plenty of options
Sunglasses can be a lot cheaper.. Luxottica deliberately keeps it expensive..you pay extra for brand names basically
Its their right, they bought the company (Person, Rayban, Oakley) they invested big money to buy the company its business!
@@henrypido3152 No it's not, they inflate prizes on a monopoly. Free market rules are against such behaviour. As someone in the eyewear industry - and a Ray Ban aviator fan for decades (although Luxotica - Essilor - is our main rival), I'm old enough to remember when REAL RB were 40 bucks! Luxotica ruined the price points (and quality) from the original Bausch + Lomb offering. Some of this is not a warning of counterfeit: the fold in the microfiber, for example. The frames are where it matters. And you found a lot of the fake flaws - a very thorough review!!
Hey thanks for the insightful comment!
Don’t forget inflation is the biggest factor in ray bans increased pricing, I have found old receipts ranging from the 1970s to 1990s and then I pop those numbers into an inflation calculator and the new ones were about $10-$20 more adjusting for inflation!
@@ShadeReview Costs rise, no question. All around. But Luxotica put a premium on RB after their acquisition. This is the designer dilemma. Many frames, regardless of price, are made by the same manufacturers. Branding is a major component in consumer pricing, irrespective of build costs. They increased prices to elevate the appeal. But it is my opinion the product has nothing to ahow for that.
I’m also in the industry, and when I started out in the mid ‘00s, basic RB aviators were $99. But I’ve also seen the warranty pamphlet tucked into the cellophane along with the cleaning cloth. Ray Ban lost their hold on the market when Oakley became top dog. Lux buys Ray Ban, re-markets them, buys Sunglass Hut, then tries to force Oakley out. Associates were also *nudged* to sell RB over Oakley. At the end of the day, Lux’s motto is always “if you can’t beat them, buy them”.
@@nathansnyder8378 They were cheaper before that! Of course, the counterfeit industry wasn't as prevalent then. This also adds to cost now. And I do believe the product was better before Luxottica.
@Bob Boberson I agree with you 100%
Good video. But I hate to tell you... both pairs are fake! Real Ray Bans only have Bausch and Lomb US military spec precision engineered matrix glass lenses. No B and L, No Ray Bans. Luxotica plastic caps are completely inferior to the B and L lenses and are an insult to the Ray Ban legacy. Luxotica bought the name only and Not the technology. So any pair after 1999 are fakes. Sorry.
First time Ray Bans owner here. DO NOT BUY THESE. Expensive garbage and broke after ONE single standing height drop. Warranty covers absolutely nothing.
Not condoning those fake ones, but they are pretty convincing. The cheesy angle of the Ray Ban paint-on lens logo would be tell-tale for anyone that bought a real pair and 'knows' how to spot fakes.
My quickest and easiest way to tell the difference between real and fake is where the temple piece connects to the frame. The fakes have little or no taper from where the temple rod is round to where it is flat and connects to the frame. Real glasses have approx 4.5 mm where the taper begins then becomes flat and ends at the screw hole. The fakes are approx 3.55 mm or less.
Authentic Ray Bans can be made in Italy or China. Just a heads up for those that dont know 😁
Yes as far as ray bans in general goes, but as far as the Original Aviator RB 3025 those are still only made in Italy
Thiner cases are more common in ray-ban too it depends on size of glasses and the model itself, for example clubmasters become in larger cases than the aviators and small aviators become in smaller cases than the large one etc..
When the real glasses or the fake glasses get broke won’t you be glad that you bought some fake ones put that extra $75 in your 401k
Don't buy on eBay, I have been screwed twice despite of being assured they were genuine.

I bought my remixes right off the Ray Ban website. My box didn't have a sticker on it
Yes you are right the remixes are different they don’t have the sticker because they are completely custom. One of my remixes even came in a completely different box it was more similar to persol then ray ban. But yes you are definitely right about that!
No stickers on the boxes for aviators or wayfarers when brought direct.
Man RayBan logo can be engraved anywhere on fake glasses , doesn't matter weather under the bridge or above it . All you need is to tell the copy manufacturer and pay them accordingly so it's useless . The only way you can recognize them if you are an expert who knows the quality of material and scale on hand for tough measurements .
I'm sorry, but you didn't convince me of anything. If the logo on top of the bridge didn't appear until after 2019, the "fake" pair could easily be old new stock. That would also be consistent with the slightly faded red ink of the logo on the box. Red pigments fade rapidly even under artificial light. Everything else you mentioned could be easily explained by normal variations in the manufacturing process. If those are "fakes", they are incredibly well done. Well worth the price! Btw:. The word "the" is pronounced -thuh-, not -thee-.
I'm not sure. While I agree with your point about old stock, some of the issues on the fake versions (the engraved RB on the front of the left frame, the quality of the text on the frames and the RB on the nose pieces) don't show this level of variation between genuine pairs. Something like this would fail quality control. Perhaps they could be factory seconds, though? Not sure.
The question is, would you be willing to pay full price for the ebay pair? Would they still be worth it with those so-called manufacturing variations?
Also, once again from a quality control perspective, you can't be sure that the ebay pair offer UV protection. Without that, you may still be at the same risk of developing cataracts & macular degeneration as if you weren't wearing any at all. Depending where you live in the world, that could cost a lot in medical bills.
Finally, the pronunciation of "the" depends on the sound of the first syllable of the word following it (usually vowel vs consonant). "The apple" would generally use "thee", while "The bus" would use "thuh". This will naturally vary between people and regions. There was no need to be so unpleasant.
Didn't help much because both are like twin cousins born at a same time just with minute difference...and customers are left to guess who was born first?🤔
Hold up, you’re telling me I can get a knockoff pair of Ray Bans for less than half the price, and I’d need a macro lens to tell the difference? I really don’t see why they’re THAT awful to the average wearer if there’s no difference in fit and it actually has UV protection.
On a side note, great comparison, super detailed. 👍🏼 I thoroughly enjoyed the video
They don't have UV protection thats the problem a made a video on that.
Shade Review Yeah, I later saw that video. I’m no longer getting knockoffs lol
Plus they won’t hold up over time. If you do want a fake, pay $5. But never sell them.
The lens shape is a lot different. The real ones are much better defined and much sexier.
100%!
The real difference is the price 👌....
Label logo is off-center on the fake.
your video really helps to spot the fake. good work
You saved my ass thanks
No problem! We actually now sell ray bans if you are interested! ShadeReviewStore.com
I was just convinced to go on eBay.
Enjoy going blind bud
