An absolutely incredible performance at 17. What talent. Peter Carter was such an influence, and his death woke Federer up. And meeting Mirka also changed his life. He is missed. I hope he makes use of his fame (and fortune) to do something important to help this insane world. But what tennis this was, at 17.
I do believe he’s made efforts over the decades try to help this world through the Roger Federer Foundation helping kids around the world, think co-hosted some charity match(es), and through his great ambassadorship of sportsmanship and for tennis has helped inspire many people around the world to work hard, be respectful, care about colleagues and not taking yourself too seriously. Loved the story of how a Wimbledon gatekeeper didn’t recognize him and he couldn’t enter when he stopped by the All England Club shortly after his retirement.
Lol😂lol😂 Hmm would he ever!! But yes amazing to see a couple parts of his great game that had to develop last before (spoiler alert lol😂) he’d begin his first great dominance and amazingly long-successful career continuing to adapt and evolve to become the big three trailblazer!
Thanks for sharing this.
Absolutely amazing to see young Federer playing in this way.
❤❤

Man! His ball striking at 17 was pretty ferocious! No wonder.
Yes, some of Federer's genius is apparent here, his style quite recognizable.
That hair!😂
Do you have the match between Federer and Sanguinetti from Milan 2002? Thanks.
the good times
Bro channeling his inner Pete
Amazing performance for 17 years old. if he was focused he could've started winning slams very early.
This Fed kid probably won't make it far. Very unelegant technique. Definitely won't become the GOAT or the best player ever at the USO or Wimbledon 🤪
