I see the GOAT, I click (and it's not Bathroombreakovic for all of his delusional fans out there) 😂

The deal is, you play your very best tennis in every part of every match. Federer consistently went above and beyond to deliver on that obligation and, and he was rewarded by the enthusiasm of fans: a phenomenon that will continue endlessly via the high quality video recordings.

Technically not a very sound player at all. The best forehand is the one that is in the game for the longest period of time - winning. NOt this guy for sure...

To all those bitching about the commentators, they obviously had no idea who Djokovic was at the time, and clearly have respect for him now. Y’all always play the “it’s everyone else’s fault but Djokovic” card and it’s pathetic asf. They were totally valid what they said at the time.

I notice just how much faster that US Open court was in the past. After they slowed the courts and fluffed up the balls Fed had a harder time winning.

In terms of strength, wawrinka's backhand may be the strongest with one hand, but the strength of the backhand cannot be judged in terms of speed alone. There are other touches, such as the slice and voley, or shooting from difficult angles and positions. Therefore, I see that Federer's backhand is the one that combines all these features. We do not forget that when Federer wants to hit the backhand very quickly, he does that as well.

It’s interesting to see how Novak’s technic was far behind his current level. That is not to say it was bad, but he advanced so much since then!

I don´t know a lot about these commentators other than that they try to be funny and look sharp but they fail. Extremely disrespectful comments made by two losers who think the world circles around them. Well, the woman needs a new hair stylist and the guy probably thought he could get her in bed.

For a straight passing shot, there is no one better, but for an overall backhand.....angles, touch, finesse etc., plus passing shots, Federer has Stan covered. Period.

Twenty years have gone by, but I still remember (at the time I was a teen and used to follow tennis a lot, watch any possibile match, read all the articles, etc) an article by a top Italian journalist, Rino Tommasi, presenting the match as a certain win for Coria, but predicting a fantastic career for Novak. For some reason, it seems that the main requisite to be a sports journalist or broadcaster in the US is to be as dumb as it takes and know nothing about what you're talking about, back then aas well as nowadays

I thought he had a 0.00000000000000000000000000002 percent chance of winning the point, glad someone corrected me. I'm not sure how this is measured, but thanks. I used a slide rule covered in mayonnaise for my calculations, along with the Solunar tables from the back of Field & Stream.

Novak entered the fray when the greatest clay courter and the greatest non-clay player of all time were dominating the slams. And he had to raise his game to compete with that. But he systematically dismantled both his rivals and won 24 grandslams in a Fedal era. New guys like Alcaraz didn't have to face that. He came in when the big 3 were on the way out.
