People who don’t play tennis have no idea how hard it is to play on grass. The way Roger moves so effortlessly on it is so beautiful to watch. Why he’ll always be GOAT to me and the king of grass
He always takes time away from his opponents with his incredible early ball-striking technique. If one never plays at such a supreme level, he has no way of understanding how difficult to make those shots.
@unowen7591 not only that, just think of how much more difficult it was before they "doctored" the grass so that the balls would bounce more like a slow hard court which is the way that it was playing at that time. Back in 2003, when he first won Wimbledon, the courts were playing much faster and the bounces were completely unpredictable. This is when a great slice was REALLY your friend, and why it was so important to move forward, but like everything else, tennis has been made into a monoculture where all of the courts for the most part, play exactly the same, which was the end of serve and volley tennis, that and racket technology.
