I wish I’ll someday be that well-spoken. But even about that I feel she’s an inspiration rather than a comparison point, because I’ve seen interviews of hers over the years and just like any person she grew confident and mature. She hasn’t been all along. I love these little messages she’s putting out there 🤍

I agree they should tell the stories of these forgotten figures, which is why I personally hope they will make a movie at some point about the life of Victoria Woodhall. Victoria Woodhall for those who don’t know was the first woman to ever run for President of the United States. Her running mate was Frederick Douglass. Her famous quote “All I seek is a voice in the government to which I am accountable.“
That is very interesting. I never knew that Frederick Douglas ran as a Vice President and my Mother-in-law was President of the NAACP for thirty years. I’ll be googling this name drop.😎☺️.

Ammonite is a great film. Kate and Saoirse did fantastic jobs playing these characters. But her work explains why you need an intimacy coordinator on set. It's a new idea in the film industry but it is needed.

At least I think so, and it’s ok if they haven’t evolved enough to discuss the true nature of why Ammonite was such a big amazement to those who are open minded. They have to come around in their own time if at all. But she was invited to discuss Ammonite and they found a way to make themselves more comfortable with that. Kate was and is very adaptable. She handled it superbly like she handles any curve ball thrown at her, as she proved in this movie.☺️

How sad that the person whom the film is about is forgotten and everyone is more interested (and only mention) in a fictional lesbian relationship. So very sad that’s what we’ve come to! The great Mary Anning was not gay and just because she was single…………! Hilarious. As with all Hollywood it’s make believe and fictitious. Very sad.

You wouldn't be saying that if they had paired Mary Anning with a man and shown a straight relationship. Also, how do you know she wasn't gay? Did you know her?Gay people existed back then as well and a lot of them hid their sexuality or had secret affairs. Again, you wouldn't of said that if she was shown as a straight woman. You know I think it's pretty sad that the media mostly shows straight couples, it's a very overused narrative and unlike you , Kate is very passionate about showing LGBT+ people in the media which is great.

Contagion is so accurate to what is happening now. If you pay attention to the language in the film it mirrors exactly to what is happening today.
Kate Winslet is the most intelligent, graceful, and amazing actress of our time. She is perfect with every role she is given. I wish we could speak to the real Mary Anning to see and hear what words she would have about herself, and I believe there would be few differences with the character Kate represents on screen.

I agree, not the best film she has made. But, nonetheless, she rocks!
You guys are stupid, the virus in contagion was more lethal, but a scenario like that in the film can happen at any given moment. The film was indeed realistic, but overwhelming depicted the US government being actually competent in the film. That was not the case in our situation.

Like this interview that women do change as they get older. We can be so hard on ourselves to be this perfect picture in our heads. After having children, medical issues, and hard work our bodies do change. For that to be brought out in Mary'S character was refreshing. You could see the hard labor around the edges with the hands having to be soaked, the hands touching see the beat red hands of labor against the pale skin of the other characters hands. It is a fine point of it's hard to let someone else take care of you with Charolettes character because woman who is independent it's hard to let that go.
