- Explore with me this beautiful palace known as Munich Residenz. It is located in central Munich. It is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria.
Munich Residenz served as the seat of government and residence of the Bavarian dukes, electors, and kings from 1508 to 1918. What began in 1385 as a castle in the north-eastern corner of the city (the Neuveste, or new citadel), was transformed by the rulers over the centuries into a magnificent palace, its buildings, and gardens extending further and further into the town.

Where is this located? Near city center? We are going on December and staying at same hotel you did … Hotel Torbrau. Is it within walking distance? (I can google it!) All of your videos have been really helpful! (We are also taking the train to Nuremberg, too.)
@@dianamccabe9994 Hello Diana, yes it is within walking distance and in the city center. At a normal pace you reach the Residenz in 15 minutes from the hotel.
