The surprise in this was Austin in rehearsal kept it pretty standard in his solo but when they recorded, he went full on gospel and to see Joe and Duane patting Austin and grinning from ear to ear, you knew they felt like proud papas and obviously Austin was thrilled to get the literal praise from his idols and Jeffrey was back there smiling like Austin you got extra gears! Their Christmas in Dixie collab from this same session was also equally great, you are going to love it too.
She'll probably love that one, as well! "Christmas in Dixie" I mean. Tim introducing *Alabama* always makes me chuckle. You know he honestly couldn't believe he was there saying it! 😘😳👍
I love this song. Austin's daddy was a member of a Southern Gospel group. The Oaks are on their farewell tour. Fifty years of awesome music. They deserve to retire. Love your reaction.
And let's not forget the wonderful Jeffrey East. He's a very talented singer/songwriter who has written several songs for Home Free. I think you would enjoy his solo work. I highly recommend Love Again and Back Home to Me.
I forgot to mention Jeffrey East in my comment LoL. He has such a beautiful voice. Austin has a video on his page of he and Tim singing " "What's It to you" with Jeffrey and Chris Chatham. It's so good.
they also sang with a group called Texas Hill. you need to check out them all singing Go Tell It On The Mountain. any song Home Free sings is just magical.
The lead singfer starting off with guitar was a very nice baro tenor and the Old Guard = Oakridge Boys ..... joining The New Guard = HOME FREE brought such good feeling church chorale Hymn singing .... Austin on the HIGH TENOR blows away even the veteran tenor in the Old Guard as well as any who appreciate great vocal talent ! Loved it. GBjj
There's a reason HFries consider this an all time favorite. What a perfect homage to Christ and our good old Oak Ridge Boys. They don't make them like this anymore. Shine on red! You make our days beautiful!
Can't wait to see you do the Lee Greenwood version of God Bless the USA and American Pie with Don McLean. You will also love Delta Dawn, From here to the moon and back, Mom, Starship (showing Rob's journey into being a father) and another personal favorite Everything will be okay. There's just sooooo many!
My Dad was a big, tough, macho man! But give him beautiful music with tight harmonies, and he'd bawl like a baby, have layers of goosebumps, and shiver as a chill ran up his spine! I'm the same way! Music is my medicine! Great reaction! ❤
I cry every time I hear this. My grandpap was a preacher and was also in a gospel quartet. This arrangement floods back so many memories!! So, I cried right along with you! ❤
I cry every time I hear the Oaks or Home Free sing gospel songs! I've followed the Oaks since the 60's and Home Free since 2014! My two absolute favorites! I love your reactions, so real! 💗
Definitely get around to the collabs with Kenny and Alabama! You won't regret it! 😘👍🎄 The one with Kenny, "Children, Go Where I Send Thee", is on Kenny's last Christmas album. He loved Home Free! I've been a huge Kenny Rogers fan since the early '70s. I'm SO happy that Home Free got to record with him before he passed. ❤
You just can't go wrong with the Oak Ridge Boys, and Home Free!! These guys look like they are having so fun together. As for getting a little teary eyed, go right ahead, I get a little teary eyed sometimes, too.
I'm a long time HomeFree fan. Loved this and I enjoy your reactions also. I like that you are authentic and not ashamed to cry. I'm a 74 year old man who can't help but cry when I hear this version. Another Christmas song done by Voctave (Oh come all you faithful) makes me cry everytime. They have 11 members, male and female. Keep up the good work, I'll be watching!
Awww feel better soon. This is beautiful isn’t it?!! Jeffrey East is a singer/songwriter who’s written songs for Home Free like Why Not and he’s wonderful. Home Free does another song with the Oaks - Elvira. I think the two groups really like each other. They sing a song in this venue with Alabama too, Christmas in Dixie. I think this was during Covid so they had a small audience. O Holy Night, Angels We Have Heard on High, Mary Did You Know. 😍😃
I love both groups. I grew up on the Oakridge Boys. You can tell they were all having such a great time together. Both this one and Elvira you can tell it's Luke the Oakridge Boys are kind of passing the torch so to speak.
This one fills my heart and puts a smile on my face and yes, a couple happy tears. . I love seeing how much they respect each other and enjoy each other's company. Home Free has "Home Away from Home " videos and in episode 1 it shows them getting ready to play at the Grand Ole Opry and perform with The Oak Ridge Boys. You might enjoy reacting to it. You learn so much about their personalities and what they do. Thanks for reacting to Home Free.
I hope you feel better soon. They have done a whole concert together before, it was around 2018 or 19 I believe. The Oaks have now announced their retirement after this year.
This was really nice! I hadn't heard it before. OMG!! Austin is converting the masses in this!! Both groups are fantastic in their own rights. It almost strikes me as the Oaks passing the torch for this type of choral country genre. Great reaction!
A few songs of Home Free to check out are Ring of Fire featuring Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix, Folsom Prison Blues and Mayday (which may surprise you). Great reaction.
Glad that you loved it! I really like to see the Oak Ridge Boys and their love and respect for Home Free, especially this one where two of them were "taken to church" by Austin. As I understand it, during rehearsal Austin was just signing "normally", but during this performance he stepped it up and the Oak Ridge Boys LOVED it.
Sweetest "reaction" I have yet to watch. I've been an Oaks fan since the early 70's, and now a fan of Home Free as well. You can tell that you were simply feeling it in your soul! A couple of suggestions: Pentatonix Mary Did You Know and Voiceplay The Grinch are fabulous as well!
I grew up in a Pentecostal church showered in the word of God...I take those lessons with me to this day Praise our lord and savior Jesus Christ...just saying ,I love this I'm following
The legendary Oak Ridge Boys & Home Free are fantastic together and Jeffrey East has such a beautiful voice. When Austin was a kid he sometimes traveled and sang with his father's gospel quartet in Georgia, so if it feels like he took you to church .. . The harmonies are outstanding and Adam's beatboxing is always perfect.
No need to apologize for needing to get a double dose of Austin to make you feel better. Some reactors do listen to a song 2 times if it hits them right. This same special they also did a song with Alabama, you should check that one out too
Ole Joe loves him some Home Free doesn't he. Can't blame him. This is from the Home Free Christmas Special where they also appeared with Alabama. I think it was a patreon show.
Love it - just absolutely love it!!! These used to be the norm not so many yrs ago; traditional, bluegrass, country gospel music --- "Timeless" sound. Be Safe
You seem like yourself. Thanks for this reaction. At first I was thinking this is their one with Alabama; OBVIOUSLY NOT. lol That's a good one to: *Christmas in Dixie* Feel better soon. *HUGS*
I can’t even wait till you finish your reaction to this song. It’s like I was a kid again and all the family members and our friends and neighbors would sit around singing Christmas songs all night. Well till midnight anyway most kids would have to be took to bed and it was so special fires in the fireplace. And we had a few fireworks too so many good memories. I love 💕 this song 🎵. Wow I get to enjoy my grandkids and great grandkids. I’m so proud of our family. Thank you for reaction and Merry Christmas 🎄 and happy new year. 🎊🎈. #HOMEFREE.
The other guy that started the song was Jeffrey East on the guitar. Have you watched Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boys yet? This was actually a live stream how you had to pay to watch. They also sang with Alabama, Rachel Wammack and Striking Matches. I really enjoy watching your reaction to this song.
Hope you feel better soon and Great Reaction all of them on that stage like and respect each other Jeffery East works with Home Free writing and performing.
This style music is definitely where my soft spot is! Love quartet music and also sing with a southern gospel group myself so I too love this. Just with an acoustic guitar, it sounds like a band behind them! Thanks for showing us you! Still praying, get better soon! Low bass Kenneth.
Jeffery East is featured in HF's video of People, which Jeffery wrote. He also wrote Why Not, another HF video. Jeffery is also part of the other non a cappella band that Tim and Austin created, called Sweet & Low Co. that also includes Chris Chatham who has been featured in another HF video, So Long Dixie.
I'm crying right along with you, my dear girl. This is, I believe, my favorite Christmas song featuring HF. And the ORBs just make it better. Sure can tell Austin grew up singing in church, can't you? Merry Christmas!
Good to see you back -- hope you're feeling better! Home Free taught me to love country music, gradually at first, but improving over a decade of listening to their fantastic voices. The Oak Ridge Boys are legends that I remember from my childhood, but honestly paid little attention, and now I replay their collabs with Home Free often. Great reaction -- stay well and have a happy Christmas season!
Redhead, I hope you feel better soon! Hopefully this video helped even a little bit. Talk about a super group with all of these talented gents! Joe cracks me up every time I watch this video. When Austin is bringing us to church with those height notes, Joe stands up! Jeffrey East is the guy that played the guitar. He opened up for Home Free in Europe years ago and they hit it off. Jeffrey, Austin, and Tim have collaborated on songwriting and sing together in another group called Sweet+Low Music Co. with some other folks. Looking forward to seeing you react to Home Free with Alabama, and the late Kenny Rogers. That’s another story for that reaction.

Have you heard of Voiceplay yet? They are an a capella group like Home Free and Pentatonix. They were on the same season of the Sing Off as Home Free. They have holiday stuff, Halloween stuff and covers of classic rock and other songs. Worth checking out when you have the time. Just discovered your channel. You are doing great
I would like to recommend you consider reacting to Austin Brown (of Home Free) doing his solo version of Bring Him Home from the musical play version of Les Misérables. IMO, it is almost unbelievably good. Bring tissues.
This was a Covid time streaming only event concert. Not sure if it's possible to find the full thing anywhere. Sorry you are under the weather. Hope you bounce back real soon. Happy holiday season to you and all my fellow Fries!
Easy to forget the beatboxer Rupp is doing his magical thing here, too. Peace.
Yeah once Home Fried it's impossible to be unFried.

I love this song. Austin's daddy was a member of a Southern Gospel group. The Oaks are on their farewell tour. Fifty years of awesome music. They deserve to retire. Love your reaction.
Do you know which group?
@@redheadedneighbor No I don't .
Yes! Have tickets to see the Oaks in Rocky Mt VA next fall on their farewell tour!! Excited and sad at the same time!
It's so sad to think about no more beautiful music from these amazing gentlemen! Thank goodness for CDs & streaming! 💖
I'm 70 years old and I get misty eyed on this one every time.
💕
Plus, Adam Rupp doing all the percussion sounds. Unreal. Peace.
I cry every time I listen to them sing this together. The Oaks are extremely fond of Home Free.
The talent that God gave to these men is great
And let's not forget the wonderful Jeffrey East. He's a very talented singer/songwriter who has written several songs for Home Free. I think you would enjoy his solo work. I highly recommend Love Again and Back Home to Me.
So glad you mentioned Jeffrey East. I wasn’t going to let him be unknown. He has an amazing voice and is a gifted songwriter!
You feel their misic as much as you hear and see.
It is said tears are from ones soul crying out for love.
Yes💕

This song is when I become a Jeffrey East fan. Have been a Oakridge boys fan for over 40 years lol. Been a home Free fan for years.
This was the catalyst for you? That’s special!
@@redheadedneighbor yes I suppose so never thought about it much. I like most collaborations with home Free.
This is the most wonderful version of this song, I have listened to this hundreds of times
