I had a border collie named Zach and he was my hiking and camping companion, your relationship very much reminded of the times that I spent with Zack exploring the Sierra mountains in Northern California, your video brought dear memories. I looked through some of your recent posts and was gutted to see your video about Bruce recently passing. I lost Zack suddenly and unexpectedly to a ruptured spleen fifteen years ago. I know that brutal loss of a pup that was a best friend, hang in the best you can, and may your heart take a small measure of comfort in knowing that you gave Bruce a wonderful life. Alex

Brucey hangs on ur every word and wants ur attention so much. It is so touching to watch him pay such undivided attention on you. I’ve been researching dogs and the love they have for us is truly remarkable. I sent u a study done by a psychologist who has a border collie and found through MRIs of the dog’s brain that oxytocin floods their brain when given a cotton swab from owners sweat. They don’t just love us bc we feed them, it goes much deeper than that. The study also showed that Border Collies are the most intelligent breed. I can see that in Brucey. He’s sensitive also. Just know his love for you is so precious.
Hello Tony and Bruce . I want to thank you for all you share and teach everyone here. I've been a single mom for almost 28 years . I bought my house 20 years ago. But now foreclosed since COVID . My son and I only have a couple days to leave our home. I so kindly thank you, and appreciate you so much. I've learned a lot from you about things I will need if we become homeless. We may only have the streets to live. Please know that everything you teach everyone with your camping knowledge may save lives. I love your camps and this one, the EV camp have been a highlight but my favourite place is the wild camp beside the river, I would love to go there. Thanks to you guys we have a tarp, One Tigress down blankets known as the Brucie blankets , that large table you have and a Tent stove (note no tent) all have had trips out but mostly are used in our own back garden in a wee town in Ireland and we just love it 😂 getting out in what otherwise would be rainy Irish weather even if it’s in our own garden is great. One camp that resonates is the one where you boated to Island and chatted about your dad, I lost my mom this year and that camp really sticks in my mind . I have turned to your camps on more than one occasion on those bad days and want to thank you for the time, effort and dedication you and Bruce put into them - they are so appreciated. Sorry didn’t mean to go on but want to Thank You and wish you a very Happy Christmas and every happiness for new year. ❤

Go, Tony. The tent is very impressive, and you looked so comfortable and relaxed. Bruce looked very laid back, also. My old English grandmother used to make sausage and sage stuffing. Some of the family didn't like it very much but her and I used fight over the very last morsel. Over the years after she passed, I tried to make it, but it never came out exactly like hers did. I still make it anyway. You did amazing making Christmas dinner and it looked delicious. I wish you and your family good health, prosperity and happiness for 2023. Only folks with a craving of nature can truly appreciate your channel. You have a unique way of filming your adventures in the rain . Its naturally soothing to watch and listen to the rain drops on your tents while it pours down. I loved hearing an idea to stop following politics on the media outlets which has become so depressing and toxic. Sounds like I might try this for my New Years resolution and force myself to just focus on doing only things that actually make me happy. Awesome setup Tony there's no better camping than being as comfortable as you can be in the outdoors, very few people actually enjoy, what i call, endurance camping, where you have absolute minimal kit and comfort, having the right kit means a far better experience. when people get it wrong they usually give up after the 1st camp. nobody likes a bad night sleeping on a wet surface due to a leaking tent etc.
I should also add, you're the KING of camping equipment variety!! I love your tent here & the other tents you use, not to mention, your cooking appliances & gadgets, etc;. Truly awesome stuff my friend!

I've come to you late. It's February 18, 2023. I've enjoyed your show . Watched the entire thing. I love the tent also . I had a 2 person backpacking tent when I was in my twenties. I drove around the USA with it in my Mustang. Stick shift of course. I love the older, quieter times. I miss my land line phone. The rain reminded me of my days camping in the the rain. Hey Tony. I finally caught up with most of your videos. And since you said you appreciate every comment, here goes! First of all: Thanks for all this awesome content and just keep doing what you're doing. Don't let anyone tell you what you should or should not do - provide the content you like to do most, there always will be people who will appreciate it (and always some who will dislike it). But you're the master of your channel and what you post is up to you and you alone - but I suppose you already know this. That being said, I still want to share what I like most about your content. Primarily it is the length of your videos. I love watching 3h+ videos about wild camping that shows everything you do in detail. I wouldn't even mind 6 hour vidoes. And I certainly don't understand why people complain that your videos are too long. Like, seriously? You can just skip the parts you don't like. For instance, I usually don't like the cigar time chat too much but I'm certainly not telling you to not do it. It takes me a click to skip ahead and it's all good. Long videos are great for me because I can just run them on the side while I am working and it feels very cozy. The other thing I really enjoy is the fancy food stuff and cooking parts. That's the best part for me. And while I generally prefer the wild camping videos over car camping, the latter ones have the advantage that you show off all the crazy expensive and heavy equipment that would be impossible to take onto a hike. It's super fun watching you operate a Foreman grill and Pizza oven and then really enjoying the result. So, in summary: Don't change a thing! Keep on doing what you do and I will continue enjoying the parts of your content that is just my taste. Happy Camping! EDIT: Also stumbled upon you puzzling why Bruce likes to drink from the water bottle. I am not a certified vet but our cat *only* drank from a faucet. He'd decline to drink any "stale" water. Our vet explained it to us like this: Animals instinctively know that flowing water is "fresh" while stale water may not be.

Idk if you have been asked this before but what do you do about your wet tents after your camping trip? Like how do you go about drying them out to prevent mold and such
Hey Tony, I can't tell you how much I enjoy going camping with you. I have the best time but feel a bit guilty not doing any of the work. Imagine, doing a Christmas turkey dinner in the outdoors...beyond awesome. I am with you on bringing lifes comforts with you. Why not? When I was young and raising three boys and a girl, we had a huge duck blind with lights, heat, and kitchen. Visiting friends would always question the set up, that is, until hot breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, hot coffee and bisquits was served. Then, they got it....nothing but wow and "this is the way to do it." I love that your videos are not narrations, or instruction but casual talk, as if we were there. Thank you for sharing your awesome experience. As we say here in the South US, Life is gooder than good. BTW, a diesel parking heater would be the ticket. They draw about 120 watts for 2-3 min. on startup then only draw about 9 watts once started. They sip diesel at a rate of 0.11L to 0.51L per hour. The issue would be porting the heat inside the tent and making certain the exhaust does not enter the tent. Should be doable though. It is always a good idea to have a CO detector when using any combustion heater....propane or oil/diesel. With these larger tents it would be nice if they all used the bags that completely open up. Just spread it out on the ground, set the tent on it and then fold the ends over and wrap the sides around the tent and compression strap it down. Easy Peazy.

Sounds like I might try this for my New Years resolution and force myself to just focus on doing only things that actually make me happy. Awesome setup Tony there's no better camping than being as comfortable as you can be in the outdoors, very few people actually enjoy, what i call, endurance camping, where you have absolute minimal kit and comfort, having the right kit means a far better experience. when people get it wrong they usually give up after the 1st camp. nobody likes a bad night sleeping on a wet surface due to a leaking tent etc.
I should also add, you're the KING of camping equipment variety!!

I drove around the USA with it in my Mustang. Stick shift of course. I love the older, quieter times. I miss my land line phone. The rain reminded me of my days camping in the the rain. I finally caught up with most of your videos. And since you said you appreciate every comment, here goes!
First of all: Thanks for all this awesome content and just keep doing what you're doing. Don't let anyone tell you what you should or should not do - provide the content you like to do most, there always will be people who will appreciate it (and always some who will dislike it). But you're the master of your channel and what you post is up to you and you alone - but I suppose you already know this.
That being said, I still want to share what I like most about your content. Primarily it is the length of your videos. I love watching 3h+ videos about wild camping that shows everything you do in detail. I wouldn't even mind 6 hour vidoes. And I certainly don't understand why people complain that your videos are too long. Like, seriously? You can just skip the parts you don't like. For instance, I usually don't like the cigar time chat too much but I'm certainly not telling you to not do it. It takes me a click to skip ahead and it's all good. Long videos are great for me because I can just run them on the side while I am working and it feels very cozy.
The other thing I really enjoy is the fancy food stuff and cooking parts. That's the best part for me. And while I generally prefer the wild camping videos over car camping, the latter ones have the advantage that you show off all the crazy expensive and heavy equipment that would be impossible to take onto a hike. It's super fun watching you operate a Foreman grill and Pizza oven and then really enjoying the result.
So, in summary: Don't change a thing! Keep on doing what you do and I will continue enjoying the parts of your content that is just my taste.

EDIT: Also stumbled upon you puzzling why Bruce likes to drink from the water bottle. I am not a certified vet but our cat *only* drank from a faucet. He'd decline to drink any "stale" water. Our vet explained it to us like this: Animals instinctively know that flowing water is "fresh" while stale water may not be.

Idk if you have been asked this before but what do you do about your wet tents after your camping trip? Like how do you go about drying them out to prevent mold and such

Hey Tony, I can't tell you how much I enjoy going camping with you. I have the best time but feel a bit guilty not doing any of the work. Imagine, doing a Christmas turkey dinner in the outdoors...beyond awesome. I am with you on bringing lifes comforts with you. Why not? When I was young and raising three boys and a girl, we had a huge duck blind with lights, heat, and kitchen. Visiting friends would always question the set up, that is, until hot breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, hot coffee and bisquits was served. Then, they got it....nothing but wow and "this is the way to do it." I love that your videos are not narrations, or instruction but casual talk, as if we were there. Thank you for sharing your awesome experience. As we say here in the South US, Life is gooder than good. BTW, a diesel parking heater would be the ticket. They draw about 120 watts for 2-3 min. on startup then only draw about 9 watts once started. They sip diesel at a rate of 0.11L to 0.51L per hour. The issue would be porting the heat inside the tent and making certain the exhaust does not enter the tent. Should be doable though. It is always a good idea to have a CO detector when using any combustion heater....propane or oil/diesel. With these larger tents it would be nice if they all used the bags that completely open up. Just spread it out on the ground, set the tent on it and then fold the ends over and wrap the sides around the tent and compression strap it down. Easy Peazy.
