    Our DP came with a Glendinning Motorized Power Cord Reel but our power cord is wired in. All our previous RVs were wired in as well. Trying to get the cord back through the opening was a pain. What I like about the power reel is that you can hold a cleaning rag against the cord and clear off mud/dirt as it reels.

    Great video BTBRV! One product that you might want to check out is Cord Pro. These are lightweight, durable and easy to use. I have three of them, one for the 30 amp shore power cord, one for the fresh water hose and one for my heavy duty 50' extension cord. They are inexpensive as well! You only let out what you need and there is no tangled mess at the campground. Best Wishes!

    So I bought this last year for my 2015 carbon 357TH, and next to the tankless water heater it's my favorite tool! Thanks btbrv!

    Great video. Wish they made smaller ones for travel trailers that don’t have the big basements.

    Thank you for the video and all your videos. Great idea. I like to clean, roll and store power cord in a tote. Cant justify 170 dollars for this. For 50 I would jump in....Being a diseased workaholic brought me to rv camping as a "vacation". This takes some of that work out of it for me lol.

    After I coil mine I throw it in a plastic storage tote. Much cheaper solution and keeps it out of the way and looking nice.

    It's a pretty cool reel. Something that you could hard-wire, then pull out what is needed seems a better idea. With my background, I roll all my cables velcro them and store them. An interesting product though. E-trailer has a lot of cool stuff.

    A eazy way to keep the power cord clean is to have a moist cloth in your feeding hand while turning the rolup handle.

      Michael Scott: Great speculation, but not true. I get paid nothing to do this review. It’s just something I share because I was going to buy the product and eTrailer offered to provide it for a shoutout. I’ve been wanting this for some time and you would be hard pressed to find anything similar in quality for significantly less.

      This may take up more physical space but most of the space is vertical rather than horizontal and much of the vertical space would not be used otherwise. Also, there is easier access to the cord and it is not tangled.

  • @craigwflys

    I'm really lazy and I'd like to see one designed that would include a little internal motor that would wind up the cord with only pressing an on demand button. This way you could mount it next to either wall without worrying about the handle getting in the way.

  • @GiftHorse123

    I only problem is the Reel In doesn't work in cold weather. My 50 amp cord is like an octopus in colder weather. For $ 169, there are very cheap options.

    Nice video, but how does that take up less space than just the cord? I'm not trying to be negative, i enjoy your videos, just in this video, the solution seems bigger than the problem, but I'm wrong quite a bit..

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  5 років тому +3

      I is a fair question. The cable generally sits flat and unwinds itself. It also tends to cover or get covered by other stuff. The reel positions it in a more compact way ompy 7.5" wide.

    • @rondogwil
      @rondogwil 5 років тому

      @@BigTruckBigRV Put the cord into a box or tote and you still have options on where to store it.

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  5 років тому +1

      rondogwil: I use to do that, but then it would get covered up and still required coiling it. I know this isn’t going to be for everyone, bit it’s something I’ve admired on other fifth wheels for some time and really wanted. Don’t just take it from me, ask anyone who uses one of these...read the comments from folks who have it already. It’s a great product.

    And for those of us who have a little less cash to spend I would recommend the CordPro XL . I use one for my 25 ft 30 amp cable and it works great and keeps it neat. It isn’t a full fledged reel but for those of us who don’t need or don’t have the space this fits the bill, check it out BTBRV at cordpro.com

    You and I have the same 360IBL fifth wheel. I currently keep a 30 and 50 amp cord in the front storage. You're right that they take up a lot of room and its cumbersome to roll it up into a container (basket) etc... I have been looking at this product and was wondering why you didn't install it under the front storage? Did it not fit or just a personal preference thing?

    Is that a stock 50 amp cable? I don't think my 50 amp cable would be able to roll up in the cold weather. I'm thinking, trying to roll it up cold would pull that reel off it's mounting bolts?

  • @rondogwil
    @rondogwil 5 років тому +2

    The ease of cranking to wind up a cord is nice, but it does not save space. It is screwed down and taking away storage options. If that cord was wound into a box or tote, you can put it anywhere you need it to go and it leaves that storage space open for different things for different trips. I like your videos, but I personally, am not impressed with this item or it's price. Be safe!!
