    I had the pleasure of flying on the British Concorde from Dulles to Dallas several years ago. I remember that the fuselage was very narrow compared to other commercial aircraft and that it seemed to get airborne very quickly on takeoff. There was a digital airspeed indicator on the left side of the forward cabin. The pilots weren’t permitted to fly supersonic over the continental U. S. but we were very close to mach 1 as I recall. It was a very memorable experience!

      @G_Cs 2 роки тому +1

      >"I liked the rolls you did"
      Agree. That aroused my curiosity though whether the full-size Concord could do a barrel roll. Luckily, there is a UA-cam video of a British pilot (Brian Walpole) that was flying with one of the French test pilots (Jean Franch). The French pilot decided he would show that it is possible to do a barrel roll, so he did one, then asked the British pilot to do one the other way. The British pilot says they told him he was the only British to ever do a barrel roll in the Concord, which makes me wonder, how many times did the French do one? The video does not say whether the French pilot had done one before, but it certainly implies he had done a barrel roll at least once before to have made the statement that it was possible and that he would prove it to the British pilot.

      This thing has real jet engines. But much smaller and most important: without afterburners. I think it should be possible to add afterburners to this engines if we get metal alloy capable to handle 1000-1500 Celsius and proper tools. In those engines, fuel can be burn also with temperature up to 1500C, but there is a small magic that holds fire away from metal. This magic is a air flow due to compressor stage at front of turbine engine (turbine engine = jet engine).

    I miss the original, I delivered a part that was fitted to every model after testing at Filton near Bristol in the 70s. At least one can see this and only imagine it setting off every car alarm at Heathrow when it took off. LOUD, What I could not hear for an hour after, grandstand seat in the car park nearest the runway. Thanks for the hard work making this aircraft. The white swan lives again.

    Remarkable talent! Beautiful craft! Very, very impressive plane. Thank you for sharing. First video I’ve watched in a while that made me just smile. That must be $25k minimum. I can’t imagine. I had a good friend build a 1/3 model piper in the 90’s, and it was $6000 in parts. He took it to a meet, was offered $6000. Said no, took off, lost rudder, and flew directly into high voltage line. It lit up the sunny day, and spit the engine block out the other side! The video is hilarious. He uses the block for an ashtray now! He never built planes again.🌞‼️😎

    In 1986 in Vancouver BC at Expo 86 the British flew over Princess Di, Charles, and their look alikes, and all their protection and Princess Margaret to attend the fair. They came over in the Concorde and the crew did a bit of an airshow over the Expo site. I was out standing on a ladder cleaning some glass feature in the back of the CP Pavillion at the time and got to watch the Concorde doing all sorts of tricks you wouldn't imagine such a plane would do. This reminded me of that show very much. About five minutes later Princess Margaret came smoking into the pavilion with her entourage. And she didn't say a thing about the clean blocks of glass I had been cleaning.
