Bro as a hobbyist fighting game guy but avid Max watcher it killed me to see the match @7:45 it took a third watch to realize what happened but it’s wild how much chun does in this game. A breakdown: Max weave cancels into super - chun takes block on first hit red parries second then blue parries 3 and 4 into counter super.( the timing on that is crazy since red parry from block is super tight) then chun meaties the air recovery leaving max about 45% heath and stun(Dudley has one of the highest gauges of both and got punished that hard by 1 read/execution) then after a little footsies chun gets out of a normal Dudley bread & butter combo (since female characters are smaller and lighter ) and gets hit by a counter hit boosted wiff punish into super + extension which kills . Max literally made 1 bad move by not remembering that a usual combo doesn’t work on a specific character and paid an entire round for it. That’s nuts 😂😂

Third strike is my favorite street fighter game. It would be cool if they did a small little remaster to smooth out the pixels and modernized it to mirror some of the other anime style fighting games that are currently out.

Her design and animations are so grounded in the martial arts she uses it brings out the same enjoyment of watching Ryu and Chun. I would be very excited to see what SF6 could do to really get into her movements. I still enjoy the wacky ones mind you but every now and then I like seeing one who's there to bare bones fight the fight. Luke seemed like he was going to be that but then he had his wacky arm thing and sorta ruined the vibe. Just want to see the karate girl shout CHESTO and cave in someone's ribcage in hyper HD
Here's what I like about Street fighter in general, new or old, some characters, are a reference towards, JoJo's bizarre Adventure, the only exception, is Sakura, her inspiration, comes from sailor Moon. All of that said, I wish two dimensional cartoonic Street fighter will come back and hopefully, it comes back, when it comes to a wish of mine, Street fighter alpha 4, I will love to see that.
Yeah Alpha 4 with GG S or DNF Duel graphics would be awesome. Alpha 3 is one of my all time faves, I know many argue A2 is the better fighting game but I love the roster, the artwork and the music of A3 so much.
I will love to see a Street fighter or Tekken character, that takes inspiration from the following, CM Punk, Ultraman, my hero academia, tiger and Bunny, F-Zero, Star Fox, animal crossing, mighty no 9 and last but not least, Pikmin.
Fighting games could almost double their single player content by offering all the same combo trials and whatnot from the Player 2 position, since so many (myself included) have trouble playing from the opposite side of the screen, but I've never seen any of them do that.
Max please react to the AI generated art of FFVII and Bloodborne reimagined as 80s dark sci-fi/fantasy horror films. There are many more such as 1950s noir Pocket Monsters, Zelda Majora’s Mask, Malazan (a fantastic book series), Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Warhammer 40k, Halo, etc.
This art style is absolutely beautiful. There is so much impact within each frame that (to me) is lost in the newest versions. They've added splash and particle effects to create the impact. As they approach realism and add detail they lose a bit of this game's special sauce. Or maybe I'm just a 40yo horny for pixels.
Yeah, specifically third strike has really good animation, much better than earlier 2D fighters and it still holds up really well today. I never played SF as a kid but still love how this game looks, and the soundtrack is awesome too

3 characters that 3rd strike made me hate: chun, yun and urien. Urien is a special case cuz even though i've seen throughout the years plenty of ppl saying that is a favorable match for makoto (my main), having a larger hit box to deal with aegis reflector always told me otherwise, and was a pain in the ass.
