Something I immediately loved about Makoto (besides her name and attitude) is how brutal and incredibly fast her fighting style is. Often it is one or the other, but Makoto's feels perfectly balanced. Yeah, I imagine a spiraling uppercut from Ken or a donkey kick from Ryu does, in fact, hurt; but Makoto's blows look like they'd actually pop your organs. Might just be me. Regardless, I like her. Hope she is seen more in the future.
makoto's karate feels heavy in each hit, that's why combo's with her feel so good. Makoto just lets you feel the sheer force of fighting with all her moves, her weighty but satisfying gameplay
@@MasterCode86 Yep. Karate arts have a lot more standing grapples and takedowns than people seem to realize, but they're still primarily striking-focused. If you put someone on the ground, the preferred followup is a finishing blow, instead of a grapple.
I love how Street Fighter, after years of having Ryu/Ken/Akuma's Ansatsuken mislabeled as "shotokan", gave us Makoto...who uses ACTUAL Shotokan karate. Not to mention it adds a wonderful layer of irony to her special intro vs. Ryu.
Hey brother. Thanks for continuing this series. It has been helping watching these. My brother in law passed away this month and this was his favorite game of all time, including being ranked top 10 on the 360 leaderboards for 3S:OE. May this game live on forever like he will.
Makoto is a bizarre character. Despite being CRAZY strong, winning with her is extremely hard. If you can't play her at the highest level, then get ready to lose
It was so entertaining watching Max fight the first opponent. Multiple character switches, both sides showing competent play, all very fun to watch. It wasn’t just a one-sided stomp, which for me just isn’t as fun to watch as someone who has a chance.
I think I would watch just an hour of max just playing a new fighting game for an hour. no facecam or mic. just him slowly learning how to figure out how to do combos so easily
Hearing Max openly asking for help and admitting he doesn't know or remember certain things has me goin "LTG would NEVER say such things" and has me determining that Max is truly a role model for me.
Third Strike just has one of the best animations to date in video games tbh. Even today this game holds up so well. How fluid and smooth everything animates with a still mostly-pixelated style. The way everything flows, the facial expressions, each little small detail. I love it. Part of me wishes we could keep this era of street fighter in modern day games, while also still making the norm of the newer end SF's. But man Third Strike had such a great cast, great details. And never forget, Makoto was an absolute terror lol.
I don't think that tomboy characters in general are cute tbh But I do like her character design because she's interesting, she looks intimidating rather than attractive which is hard to say in fighting especially the modern ones

I know max doesn't have much experience with yang and he was literally failing to use the right moves but him getting perfected twice is still crazy to me.
I live kind of in the middle of nowhere and never had anyone to play fighting games with. Now that the internet / netcode is better it’s fun to see games like this. I’ve never seen third strike and I really want to play it, it looks sick as hell
Could you imagine her in SF6? Even akira...man, there's so many characters that i'd love to see SF6 versions of. They would look so good in that art style. Hopefully, they and more are in the DLC plans for the game.

It's hilarious to me that if Makoto has one bar of meter and the proper execution, you die off one command grab. She's going to stun you, twice, and your health bar is just going to evaporate. I've watched almost every single one of Max's Third Strike videos, and I'm always surprised by how rarely Yang shows up. There's probably 140+ Third Strike videos on this channel, and I swear a Yang shows up in less than 20.
107. It's in the title. But yeah, Yang is fun to play as and I wish Yun weren't so damn dominant in this game. Makoto is the character that you can blow your load in one combo and even if they survive that, you're still a touch away from killing them.

Lets hope makoto and ibuki get the dlc power creep treatment in the first sf6 seasons back better than ever. Capcom has to know they are popular and can sell dlc seasons on their own (huffs hopium)
I will say that Makoto is a very cool character from the Street Fighter 3 Series. Concerning the fact that she's a quick Striker character which is rare especially in fighting games. If I was going to have any future DLCs for Street Fighter 6 I wouldn't mind seeing the return of these characters. For example Fei Long, Maki Genryusai, Eagle, Menat, Seth, Laura Matsuda, Alex, Falke and Guy. For bonus characters I wouldn't mind seeing Mike Haggar, C.Viper, Dudley, and maybe an OC like they did with Luke named Shoū, who has the same fighting prowess as both Ken and Ryu combined.
My favorite vids. I would love to see max do a weekly challenge where he plays ranked in games and sees how far he can go. Edit: like week of SFV on a fresh acc and make it to plat. Might be low for max but that’s the idea.

It isnt a corner thing, its about uoh being spaced properly, it was on crouching and meaty (remy sa2 is 1 frame so it can combo even if it isnt crouching or meaty as long as its spaced properly.)

Her style also resembles a bit of Kyokushin Karatè but, yeah, it's awesome!
It's a fictional hybrid style called Rindokan. She even says it herself in SFIV: "Rindou-kan Karate wa saikyou ja!"
