most remakes are not really well recieved.... because old bollywood songs are like evergreen.. so everyone loves the original
Remakes have 10 times more views/streams than original. So all remakes are very very liked. They won't keep doing it otherwise.
Why do people even attempt? Most vile were those that remixed beats. Only palatable ones were by Vikings

Sad story of Divya Barti:
Born Feb 25th 1974, She began her career in Bollywood in the year 1992 starring in the movie 'Vishwatma' this movie included the BIGGEST female club hit "saat samandar" which was and still is a sensation track thats recognised as her number.
She became a huge star overnight it was unreal, she was signed to many movies at the age of 18 the entire country went mental for her.
She took over the popularity contest even with the likes of SRI DEVI and Madhuri. All the major hit movies upto the year 1995 wouldve had her star in them all however she sadly died in the year 1993 at the age of 19 by jumping off a building.
Her death was a mystery and some believe she was murdered, she made 12 MOVIES in the span of a year and was the biggest female superstar of Bollywood so it shocked the entire country and everyone was saddened by this news.
Her death left spots for her other co actresses (Madhuri, Kajol, Raveena and Karishma, etc) to establish themselves as the great actresses they are today.
Imagine, it couldve been Divya Bharti who played Simran in DDLJ and not Kajol. this wouldve caused a different timeline in Bollywood and most likely we wouldnt have the famous SRK x KAJOL shipment we have today.
"Ek Ladki ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga" original version is a must for me. This song will always be the closest to my ❤️.... I just love this song, no matter how many remakes come but the Original one will be on the top❤

SANAM is the most underrated band . They doesn't ruin the original they make it more beautiful and pleasant to ear.

Divya Bharati was my childhood crush. Hers was such an innocent face, and she was a decent actress too. She died tragically in an accident(?) falling from the balcony of her Mumbai apartment in the early 90s. She was very young when she died. She was quite popular then and was one of the top actresses at a very young age. 😥
The voice texture that you guys liked for one of the remakes of the last song is by "Farhan Saeed". He was one of the lead singers of Jal (Atif's band). His voice is gorgeous. You'd surely love it, if you check out some of his older songs, or even from the time when he was still with Jal.

@@omkarkatore Both versions are great. Shilpa Rao's version has a Sufi feel according to me and Shreya Ghoshal's version is more like an improvised melodic song😊
90s movies and especially music have a special magic that just cannot be recreated anymore...they are like their own time capsules...watching 90s movies and listening to 90s songs just instantly takes you back to those times and no movie recently has ever done that...one exception might be the songs from Dum Laga Ke Haisha whose songs are straight up from the 90s with Kuamr Sanu singing straight into our hearts

Actually Arijit also made some remakes which are really good. But he adds something new by himself but keeps the original essence alive, i have hardly never not liked his remade songs🔥You should check that out. There are seperate videos on just his remakes

@@omkarkatore Dude that is your personal opinion. I am not sharing my personal opinion when i say these remakes are better. It is a general consensus that people liked these even more than originals. Comments and all are the biggest example of that. If u see Masakali comment section u would see how hated that remake is.

5:47 The qualification for a remake = Lack of own orginal creating ability. Bollywood is repeatingly remaking same songs multiple time and remaking other language great movies and destroys completly. But there are great musicians and film makers in bollywood.
Bro check out some classic stuff from south India as well.. I would recommend swathi muthyam and Sankarabharanam from telugu.

The song you were watching was from a 1946 movie which was ONE YEAR before Partition so at that point india and Pakistan were 1. You NEED to check her out. Lata Mangeshkar looked up to her as a younger person. And Noor jehan mentored her
I m someone who has a hard time appreciating remakes..Not that all remakes are bad..many are musically really good and keeps the essence alive but it gets difficult for me to like them (many are just plain bad ) Maybe because the old songs have stories attached to it from our childhood.. I do like those 90's remixes.. I got introduced to many older songs because of those songs while growing up.. I m quite sure that generation before me must have hated those 90's remixes
Maybe same cycle is repeating again..
But originals will always be close to my heart..

I'll agree. As someone who is really against most remakes. Jubin's are the only ones I can actually stand to listen to. Nothing beats original of course but I believe that Jubin actually cares about the songs he's covering so he puts his heart and soul into them, and I can respect that. Sanam tho, can just get in the bin.
Remakes are usually done by same recording company so they don’t have to pay huge royalties. In India everything owned by Recording company.
when you listen to old classics and their soul of presenting the poem in raags and suddenly someone fucks it up completely and get millions of views because of 10 12 years is perfectly qualified for a REMAKE
