It made my friend couldn't swim well, and so we both were drowning lol. We finally managed to get back until someone that is closest to the edge pulled us so that we can touch the edge and get up from the water. So yeah, to help someone that is drowning, I think they should know things first. He could have swam out into the deep end, gotten a cramp and went under. Drowning is terrifyingly silent, it you aren’t always paying attention Someone can go under and never come back up again. If he was diving down every now and then his friends probably didn’t even think anything of not seeing him on the surface. He also seemed to be a bad swimmer, since he is kinda dog paddling in the last clip. Many people overestimate themselves while swimming and can’t reach shore again. There is also many other possible factors like currents, sudden drops in the ground and his friends not being good swimmers either. Rescuing a drowning person is insanely dangerous and if you aren’t a good swimmer + trained in doing it you can very easily drown as well. Also they probably didn’t show the clip of him drowning / didn’t give further information on the circumstances of his death because the family asked them not to.

I’m now mid-spiral of increasingly morbid videos like this, damn.
Mid-spiral? The rabbit hole is much deeper than you think it is.
@ Visucircla, This is not a morbid video. It's a video of a young man enjoying life to the fullest.. Just sad that he lost his life during this time of his adventure. Goes to show, we should all enjoy everyday of life to the fullest, I may be our last.
When you start getting to cartel murder vids maybe take a break from the Internet for a while...

This was a great find espically for his family. Peace be upon his soul🙏🏽
Damn that's sad....
The guy seemed like a cool dude, rest in peace.
This is the definition of tragedy.....a young man who appears to be so happy with life, handsome, friendly...and in a split second he’s gone. RIP
Handsome? RIP .
What if he wasn't handsome!
drowning doesnt take a split second
This really is bittersweet! Sad that he died so young in such a way; but amazing that everyone got to see his bright smile again! He seemed like a funny, kind, outgoing, positive, beautiful human being! My condolences to the family 🙏

I can relate I didn’t swim in this lake that this young man died in but when I was in the 4th grade I had a older neighbor (5th grader)and I was friends with him and his younger sister ab 6 or 7 and she had drowned in sandy river (Oregon ) this was ab 7 years ago I’ve went swimming in there multiple times throughout my life and I just can’t not think of her everytime I even look at the river even after all these years passed still sad to this day her parents didn’t even try to jump in and save her out of fear for their own lives they literally Had to leave the woods run to a place with service to call 911 while she was drowning :(
“Some miracle the SD card survived” Its a GOPRO hero 5 and the SD compartment is completely sealed off and watertight on purpose
To the Murican media, anything good that happens is a miracle, because apparently god is the cause of everything.
@@christofferrasmussen6533 true a lot of the times people always say God is responsible for a lot of the good things that happen lol, although if we actually analyse the "miracle" it has a very logical and reasonable cause
I don't know how durable gopro hero 5 is and how watertight the sd compartment is, but i have to say, it's really fortunate and lucky that the memory card remained fine, after 2 years of being in the lake, i wouldn't say it's God or anything but maybe just luck and fortunate idk because i don't really know the durability of the device

Seeing him having a fun time with his friends and knowing that at the end of the day he will be dead brings me to tears! Prayers for his family.
I was expecting to see recordings of Richard's last moments, at least part of it. He was with 2 other guys I wonder how did he drown. Rest in peace Richard Ragland.
Yep some ain’t adding up ...
urm because he cant swim in deep water ?
@@iAlbzGaming why was he in a lake with no life jacket or anything to keep him afloat when he cant swim
Also they probably didn’t show the clip of him drowning / didn’t give further information on the circumstances of his death because the family asked them not to.
yep
I think that it was comforting for the parents to see that his last moments were pure joy
That GoPro is sure worth the money huh? Rip Richard Ragland.

A memento that illustrates how their son lived, not how he left this world, is sometimes the best piece of closure you can ever hope to give a grieving family for in a tragedy like that. Kudos to you, sir, and my heartfelt condolences to the family.....

Life lesson: Just don’t go swimming in lakes, rivers, or oceans
Or just do it sensibly? The guy looked like he enjoyed taking risks, maybe he did something stupid that led to his death. Millions of people swim in rivers, oceans and lakes without drowning, just have to be aware of the dangers and not take unnecessary risks.
thats a terrible life lesson, swimming is fun and if done correctly you wouldnt drown unless the current is too strong. i bet this guy try to swim against the current then drown.
Actually more like don’t go swimming in lakes, rivers, or oceans without a lifejacket

So did you find out what killed him? Undertow? Shark? Whirlpool? You don’t just drown in waist deep water
@@666thprayer I believe he was at a place called foster falls. I live about an hour away from it. The middle of the pool is deep, I think around 20 ft right under the falls
Imagine if someone caught your leg from below.
Does it seem like a place easy to drown in?
Why did I think it was a video of him drowning and his last struggles? 🤦🏻♀️ glad they were happy moments. Parents must have been happy to have that treasure
In my opinion, the look on his face as he dog paddles into deeper water indicates this is that very moment. He looks like he didn't swim well, or at all, and maybe didn't want to embarrass himself.
Sad but i am happy that the family at least had one last video memory.

It’s so weird how they both screamed the same way. As if Richard was screaming in happiness through the diver as he found his go pro.
Did he get taken by a surprise current? Or something, he looks like he can swim
