@@gokairedwillcipher It was during the second to last episode. Trakeena had gone insane and outfitted all her Stingwingers with explosive vests before sending them after the Rangers. They manage to do a lot of damage to the Rangers, Terra Venture, and even destroy a pair of Megazords by swarming them before detonating as one. You could *never* get away with that nowadays.
I know it may seem strange that the transfer of the Pink Powers between Kimberly and Kat without the need of that magic sword may seem like a huge plot point, but I think of it like this. They may have needed the sword because those were the original Mighty Morphin powers tapping into the power of Thunder whereas the Ninja powers I believe were to be all new powers created by Ninjor using the Ninja Powers. That would explain why the transfer of power may have been easier from a story telling point because the Ninja powers from Ninjor are completely new and different from the original Mighty Morphin powers that Zordon gave the team.
I still like to believe that the sword is able to safely make copies without the “too much pink energy” issue. But Kimberley fully retired. so she had no need for her coin
You know what the saddest thing about Ninjor is? His Sentai counterpart, Ninjaman, actually returned for an episode of Gokaiger, even joining in on that episode's zord battle. And yet, Super Megaforce once again decided to ignore a golden opportunity, and cut that episode altogether...
But... why? Their whole schtick was supposed to be calling back to previous series. Their Sentai practically gift-wraps it for them, and THEY COMPLETELY IGNORE IT?!?! To quote JonTron: "What kinda fucked shit is that?!"
"Okay folks, our new character is a wise, powerful ninja master who created the Rangers' powers. What should he sound like?" "Marvin the Martian?" "Perfect."
It was actually a fox monster they used the costume of. Yeah. Kat's monster form was actually a Kitsune. Hilariously enough Bakeneko which was a cat monster was never used.
Personally, I consider 'A Friend in Need' to be the season two finale rather than the season three premiere. Since Ninja Quest is where the new status quo is created and the Rangers get new powers and Zords, sorta like what happened at the start of season two, that to me is the real season three premiere. This is especially true since in 'A Friend in Need', the THunder Zords are still be used and Bulk and Skull reach the climax of them trying to find the rangers identities and after being humiliated again, they decide to pack it in.
What get's me about Masked Rider is, they were willing to go back to old footage that didn't look great, but they weren't willing to go back ONE YEAR and adapt the original Kamen Rider Black, one of the greatest Kamen rider series of all time! It's like Saban hated money, or something.
@@helios5868 I personally find it funny that Masked Rider and its reputation is so bad that Adaptations of Kamen Rider are almost doomed to fail. Hell when all the Saban Tokusatsu were added to Netflix they skipped over Masked Rider.
13:52 “What is it this time, Finster?! A monster that blows ITSELF up?!?” Actually, that sounds brilliant. A Suicide bomber monster that grows to full size, bearhugs the Megazord, then blows up along with the Megazord.
@@johnschou2172 yea and one up the idea by putting them on foot soldiers instead of a big monster. swarms of soldiers with bombs as we saw can be destructive to even large robots
I'm overcoming a minor cold. When I got to the part where you talked about Tommy almost yelling "White Power" I started to laugh and ended up coughing too hard. After that I was STILL cracking up
"They'll keep fighting without their powers- Remember this for a later season" That there is the mother of all brick jokes. And it only gets better/worse as the line gets repeated over and over by new ranger teams
+Harvey Chesterfield Well...depending on how well their actions are being executed and how well they deliver the lines. But yeah, I'm mean we have seen much worse actions and decision-makings in almost every team of rangers each year. Even bad moves from the professional-types.
@25:28-26:18 When I think of "Armor", I think of the Ranger Suits from MMPR: The Movie. At least with those suit designs, they actually look liked they're armored-plated.
@@gman4736 Yep. Give me character interactions, Myotismon taking over Rita and Zedd's Castle, the Rangers traveling to the Digital World, Digimon fighting Putties and Goldar (and Rito), the team up fight against Myotismon utilizing Rita's Staff resulting in Tommy, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon combining powers to defeat him. And a giant battle between VenomMyotismon and the Thunderzords plus Omnimon. And afterwards, Zedd recovers ans challenges a weaken Myotismon resulting in another Zedd fight where he mops the floor and destroys him though his ghost lives on and the events of 02 still happen. The kids say farewell to each other and hopefully this crossover is well put and well received despite continuity errors.
@@gman4736 Same. Maybe have the two struggle against Goldar and Rito until they go Ultimate and overpower them. And while that's going on, Tommy has a one on one fight with Myotismon while the remaining Rangers and Digimon team up respectively to fight off Putties created by Myotismon.
What's great to me is that you unintentionally called the route that the Boom Studio Power Ranger comics would take. Including there being an original team of Power Rangers, based on teenagers made from around the time the Cold War was going on, and the Red Ranger of that team, forming an organization that help the government fight the monsters.
It's kind of funny how Masked Rider never seemed to catch on in America, because in Japan, Kamen Rider is arguably MUUUUUCH more popular than the Sentai shows.
lcyw20 there may be some truth to that, though at the time it wouldn’t matter since kamen rider wasn’t doin anything in the 90s except 3 movies and masked rider used that footage.funny side note, kamen rider dragon knight was a smash hit over in Japan, toei even saying they would like to try kamen rider again in the u.s. I believe if power rangers is successful with hasbro, they might try there hand with it
19:21 Actually they make sense given the monster of the episode and as secondary mode of transportation given occasional problems with the teleportation system.
@Geekimus Prime Cat (Kat) is so cool in real life. When my Dad died in 1997, I wrote a letter to the cast. Catherine was the 1st to write me back. It was a long letter saying she hoped I'd be alright and some of the things she had dealt with in HER life too. She'll always have a place in my heart after that. And yes, just like Amy, she was/is ridiculously hot. 😏
No, really, rewatching this he CLEARLY WAS MEANT TO BE DEAD IN THE ORIGINAL FOOTAGE. Like, that's something that bugs me in this show: Having villains no sell their sentai deaths for no reason other than "I'm tough".
i've never actually seen that far into kakuranger. but, i always felt the same way myself. that death looked dramatic enough even without the "soul escape" thing there.
From what I gathered, this season used the footage of Kakuranger in reverse. Mainly, the Ninjazord was the last mecha in Kakuranger while the Shogunzord and Humanzords were the first. This might explain why Rito survives what is a final death because, in Kakuranger, that was the character's final death. Heck, Master Vile was the main villain in Kakuranger while in Power Rangers he disappeared after they gained the Shogunzord because, in Kakuranger, the main villain didn't make his true form showed by this point.
Season 3 in my mind is very underrated, especially the multi-part stories. I love it used less Sentai, the Shogunzords were cool. Still feels 'very new' to me
The use of multi parters definitely showed that the writing has gotten stronger to allow the characters to grow and also demonstrate how serious the villains were. Too bad other writing staff don't try and do the same thing in current power ranger shows.
Rito Revolto and Master Vile do feel like underrated villains to me. Plus, we get the introduction of the Zeo Crystal, which becomes quite the game changer.
Interesting thing about the Season 3 Zords: Both the Ninja Zords and Shogun Zords did indeed come from Kakuranger, but the order was reversed for Power Rangers. Let me explain: In Kakuranger, the team started off with the Shogun Zords. Those zords were badly damaged in the fight against Rito and the team went their separate ways to find their respective Ninja Zords. I guess the reason they introduced the Shogun Zords first was so that they could give both Tommy and Kimberly a Zord each, since in Kakuranger, the Crane Zord belonged to the White Ranger and the Falcon Zord was an auxillary mecha that just helped the team out occasionally.
I read somewhere that the movie suits kept tearing when filming the fight scenes, so maybe potential production costs made them wary of using the move suits for the tv show.
Well, mainly because the facts the suits were made for a movie which Fox has more rights over with than Saban (it's why we've not gotten Shout Factory re-releases on DVD), so Saban would have to negotiate to use them in the show, and Fox no doubt would have wanted a high cut in exchange.
Going into this season, I thought I was gonna suffer and slog through it with the unnecessary ninja stuff and all sorts of clutter…but it ended up being my favorite of the Mighty Morphin seasons. Rito is best villain, 10/10 would morph again.
Kind of a shame that back in the 90's, no one was thinking of big, multi-show universes. It would have been neat had the Rangers and Dex constantly made references to the events happening in both shows. Also, the Rangers referencing something in Masked Rider probably would have got kids thinking, "Hey, I didn't see that!", and motivate them to watch the show.
If that happened. Then Countdown to Destruction would be even more awesome seeing various heroes getting overwhelmed by foes across the universe while working together would have been even more chilling.
@@jacoblim3804or even have the Ninja Turtles and/or VR Troopers show up to help during Countdown to Destruction with the original 5 since it WAS the finale of the Zordon Era.
For me, Kimberly was my favorite character on the show. Once Amy Jo Johnson left, I pretty much stopped watching. I remember watching the rest of Mighty Morphin (begrudgingly because I was a very upset kid), some of Zeo, and very little of Turbo before tuning out completely. I didn't come back again until Mystic Force.
One could argue that they don't need the sword to transfer the powers in person because they have it in the power chamber somewhere. They probably integrated it to their systems or something to make future transitions easier.
We never actually see Kim reclaim the powers, sure, but SOMEONE had to be in the MMPR Pink suit during the Legendary Battle if Kat was gonna be Zeo Pink (and Robot Cassie as Turbo Pink)
+Scott Sandler I just assumed they were just temporary constructs created from the Ranger Keys, like the Jungle Fury Spirit Rangers. It's the only way to prevent continuity headaches.
+Patrick Hessman Not entirely. You do remember the robot rangers from that one throwaway episode in Turbo right? The fandom tends to think that MM Yellow is either Trini or Aisha (they seem to be unable to decide), the rest of the MM team is the original, and the Turbo Team, sans Justin, are the Robo Rangers.
In first version of this Video Linkara mentioned how this is is unique factor just for mighty morphin. Thankfully there is only one season of Overdrive.
Catherine Sutherland was auditioned for Dulcea in the movie, but was deemed too young. However, when casting began for Kat to replace Kimberly, the producers remembered Sutherland.
Linkara, hear me out: Maaaaaybe the reason the reason the sword wasn't needed to transfer the powers was because, like Ninjor said, the new coins and powers were of a more spiritual nature. Maybe all it took was Kim finding someone worthy, trusting her and willfully handing over the power. 😊
12:50 Well Tommy's character in season 1 and the first part of season 2 was more like the help or an extra. And all we really knew about him was that he liked Karate. He was forgetful and at times unreliable coz of his dying powers and sentai footage. So knowing that, for me it felt a little weird when he became the leader as soon as he became the white ranger. I think he should have been the leader after Jason, Zack and Trini left.
That would've been the most logical thing to do, and I think that was the plan to make him leader after jason left. But since Jason's actor had left by the time Tommy came back, it would've been weird to have a leader who's barely around outside of battle. (forced to use stock footage). That's why they made tommy leader right away.
plus, I like to think overtime Tommy worked harder to become more reliable and less forgetful and even became quite strategic in planning certain attacks when leading the team. He also knew how best to utilize the, talents of the team.
@Deka Red. That would make sense. Every time I watch White Light On Netflix I see that Austin and Walter and Thuy are clearly there for the unmorphed scenes but as soon as Tommy rejoins the team and the others fight the putties it’s the bad dub actors who sound nothing like them. So sometime during that two parter must’ve been the time they left the show. Man that still throws me off when I watch those episodes.
@@zyuranger21 They were there only for the unmorphed scenes until just after Tommy became the White Ranger but far as the morphed scenes ironically they were there til just before Tommy lost the Green Ranger powers.
“Are they implying cats are naturally evil thus you can only turn into one when you have evil in your heart” Professor Mcgonagall would like a word with you
David Yost was bullied relentlessly behind the scenes when crew members started to suspect he was gay, overhearing homophobic slurs from the production team, and even being demoted from Ranger to tech advisor in Zeo because the production team didn't think a gay man could be a superhero. He began to contemplate suicide multiple times because of this and, initially planning to wait it out until his contract expired, walked off the set for good when he discovered the producers had been questioning the other cast and crew about his sexuality. Amy Jo Johnson suffered several near death experiences due to the low budget stunts (that she had to perform herself), and the show not having to adhere to the SAG rules; including one incident where a malfunctioning prop nearly set her and David Yost on fire. Fears over her personal safety led to her leaving the series in the third season, although she was at least given a ten-episode arc to write Kimberly out, unlike the previous three. Karan Ashley decided she wanted to leave too at the end of the third season, unable to handle the hectic production schedule. Promised a ten-episode arc like Amy had been given to write Aisha out, it was cut down to two in favour of the plot point of the Zeo Crystal; resulting in Aisha suddenly deciding to stay in Africa to care for the wildlife and reverting to her adult self offscreen. To this day, the actress is still annoyed about it.
Knowing this it's honestly shocking that he came back for Once and Always and Cosmic Fury (and that he apparently thought of the anniversary concept for Once and Always)
Let alone Karen for Once and Always despite not having an satisfying conclusion to her character. Plus how she and Adam was be able to reunite for that special since other than an one off line reference the it never made clear if she or them after the Alien Rangers miniseries were able to remember the other.
DEX, not Dax! Though I agree with the rest of your statement. I've seen TJ Roberts in a few other things and, yeah, while he is a decent martial artist at least, his acting left a LOT to be desired.
I checked out Masked Rider after I first saw this and honestly either Linkara has a point or he put the idea in my head because I kept expecting Tai and Agumon to walk past the window
My reasoning for why the suits look the same despite the new animal zord powers is that the suits themselves are tied to the Power Morphers, not the coins. The coins are more like a battery in an electronic device, they don't affect the look of the device, they're just a power source for the morphers
I remember reading books about Power Rangers as a kid, and it revealed that when Zordon found them, he challenged Rita to a coin toss to decide the fate of their battle and using the Power Coins won. Rita put him the time warp as an act of petty revenge.
About the power being tied to the zords when summoned, in season one when they turn the dino tank into the megazord you see the red ranger grab two objects on the console that tied to indicators one has a ranger helmet and the other had the t rex zord on it, and after being activated the power would go from the two prior sources to a 3rd that look like the power coin. So it looks like the theory fits pretty well.
Also a possible explanation for the shogun zords, the alien ranger powers may have been made and used on earth originally with Ninjor giving the powers to Aquatar when they asked him for help. The zords could of been to big to telaport to another planet and had to stay on earth.
if i remember reading somewhere, someone suggested that the sword of light was used to copy the powers for Rocky, Aisha, and Adam. that was an explanation for how Jason still had the red ranger powers in forever red
Except during the production of the movie with those suits they kept falling apart. Also those things weighed about forty pounds and were causing back problems on the cast.
I don't get it, if Rita has a boss, a father, and a brother, how come they never came looking for her when she was trapped inside that dumpster with her minions before season 1? Literally she was trapped for 10,000 years and now in season 3 her family just started popping out of nowhere as if they were always there? Power Rangers storyline just doesn't make any sense.
+*** VOAN *** Well, that's the earlier seasons in the nutshell for you!!! Nothing in the Power Rangers universe makes any sense the more you think about it. But, who the Hell cares?!?! We love this show regardless.
Simple, when Rita lost the original battle with Zordon, Master Vile was pissed and grounded her forever, casting a spell on her dumpster so she couldn't escape using her magic. The astronauts accidently ungrounded her.
It's commenting time! 1. Rito Revolto and Master Vile are definitely underrated villains. I really wish we found out what happened to them after Power Rangers In Space. Also, since Vile rules his own Galaxy, and Power Rangers was once owned by Disney, this means that Rita Repulsa was technically a Disney Princess for awhile. Let that sink in. 😁 2. The rangers' helmets switching to match their ninja animals would've been interesting to see. Maybe they would've been similar to the Wild Force helmets?
Okay... I love rewatching these because they're enjoyable next to AT4W. But something about this surprises me... the scene with Ninjor explaining their new powers to the rangers... I notice that since its from the DVD/Netflix version, has Ninjor's voice been redone compared to the original HOPR Season 3 where you had footage from the Fox Kids TV show? This is just having me curious. I look forward to Part 2 where you cover the rest of Season 3 and yeah... regarding the Metallic Armor... couldn't they just use the one from the movie? That would have been better. And I feel the reason why they wanted the old costumes is like the last part you mentioned... consistency. They wanted things consistent and if they make a change, it can be a problem. Oh and with Rito... RIP Bob Papenbrook, the voice of Rito. He captured his voice immensely and made it funny whether in Season 3 or in Zeo.
+MegamanNG Just rewatched both versions and... yeah, actually! Huh. I'm guessing for some reason when they were putting together the syndication package, they must have used a different take or used a different version from the original broadcast.
I think the idea of a former Ranger returning to claim their powers after a long absence will happen in the team up episode of Season 2 of Power Rangers Beast Morphers, whenever that episode will air.
It's kind of crazy that Kamen Rider is never fully successful in the west. While the series has a western fandom, it's usually considered "niche" especially compared to the cultural powerhouse that is Power Ranger. Despite the fact it was created by the same people and in some aspects predates sentai. Of course Saban tried with Masked Rider (which was based on Kamen Rider Black and Black RX) and failed, due to budgeting problems and it just not being that good, and then there was Kamen Rider Dragon Knight (which was based on Ryuki) while being better than Masked Rider, still kind of faded away after it ended, but had a pretty good following. Now there are rumors that Saban is trying again with Power Rider (which is said to be based on Kamen Rider OOO) which is good idea to use OOO since that series has a team element to it. But if it's real we'll see if it gets popular. Or gets tossed to Nicktoons.
OOO's is a pretty god choice in my opinion to bring over here to try again. Has a good story, can market a good amount of toys, and the designs are some of my favorites. They could also have cross overs with power rangers! Then they can bring over super hero taisen!! As long as they don't butcher it like gokaiger's great battle, should turn out good!
+Kolbatsu I'm sorry, but the maker of Kamen Rider (or just RX, don't know) HATED Saban's Masked Rider so much that he swore never to license it to America again. Til he died. They only let Dragon Knight happen because the producers clearly cared. Giving Kamen Rider back to Saban just seems disrespectful to me. I probably wouldn't watch it out of protest of that.
+Jacob C. Mayer (DoctorJoeCool) yeah I know. Personally though, I want a really good American Kamen Rider series and one that's good enough that it ends up popular enough to garner a new franchise. Even if it is by Saban I just hope they learned their lesson from Masked Rider. Then again they could end up making another Megaforce type deal. I'd watch it to see whether or not they do a decent job with it.
thank you for putting your "histroy of power ranger" videos on youtube linkara^^ i can't watch it on channel awesome T^T (the loading lags, they slows down badly when a vid actually plays and they skip a lot)
seriously, this is the first of the redone HOPR reviews, and i can already tell you added ALOT to these reviews. Ninjor more explained, the Masked Rider eps are shown more and more fleshed out. While Im sure this took ALOT of time to re-do so they can be on youtube, I have to say that these are so much better than the originals. Thanx for going to all the trouble for these, cant wait for the next seasons. Speaking of which, if youre doing these and keeping up with your other shows schedules.......when the hell do you sleep??? Lol, thanx again.

Well, that just shows the commitment the guy has to his fans. Gotta love a guy whos willing to go to such lengths to make his audience happy. Just dont want the poor guy ending up keeling over from exhaustion.
Re: A Friend In Need- this does make the official legit team up of two Shotaro Ishinomori created properties on film as opposed to the Japanese amusement park commercials and promo pics where you see a current and previous Sentai teams, Kamen Riders and Metal Heroes in group shots. Then again both of those planted the seeds of Toei's notorious Super Hero Taisen films of the 2012-2015; 2017 period (excluding the 2016 Kamen Rider 1gou movie crossed over with the incumbent Ghost)
This can be explained that the armor is acting like a battery and there's can store pressurized power from the power grid inside their suits inside themselves way more efficiently basically comparing a 5 volt battery to a 200 volt battery.
"Since of course, ninjas wear bright yellow or blue." Well, at least blue is closer to the real thing, since as Gaijin Goomba is always saying... ♪ Real ninja wear blue! ♫
Tbf about the frog line in the movie, it was an ad lib from the actor, and the director allowed it and kept it. JYB even said he wanted Adam to be bummed about having to drive a minivan in turbo but the Director wouldn’t let him.
*Everyone getting the Turbo Zords* Adam: aw Kat: what is it Adam? Adam: I feel like a soccer mom. Tanya: how is that? Adam: Look at my new Zord. ITS A MINIVAN
I think this is why I preferred Zeo to MMPR at time, it seems like this starts creating and building on the MMPR season 2/3 Rangers giving them personalities and more differences as opposed to simply being more or less black slates standing in for the season 1 team
I just wanted to say I absolutely love your videos I have been watching them for 4 days now you are very knowledgeable on what you're talking about and that is grate to see as a fan myself you really sum up the seasons up in a good amount of time keep up the grate work can't wait to see more videos
It's funny that you mention what Zedd was doing while Rita was in the dumpster, I was thinking of writing a Wicked-like fanfiction that tells the stories of Zordon, Zedd, and Rita. In it Zordon would be the prince of Eltar and Zedd would be his younger rebellious brother who lives in his brother's shadow and jealous of him because he receives all the attention from Eltar and their father likes him best. Zordon is arranged to marry a princess (Rita) to prevent an invasion from her warlord father. At the ball announcing their engagement Rita meets and falls in love with Zedd and they bond on how their fathers treat their siblings better (Master Vile treats Rito better than Rita because he's a boy) At the wedding of Zordon and Rita Zedd begins an invasion of Eltar and Rita runs off with Zedd. Zedd returns to Eltar years later, kills his father, and takes over Eltar. Zordon leads a rebellion against his brother. The struggle between the two forces leads Zordon to create a new power source called the Morphin Grid and be becomes the first ever Red Ranger. He recruits four other fighters (one of them including Dimetria) and they become the first ever team of Power Rangers. Unlike the teens of Mighty Morphin they actually face a brutal war, there's bloodshed and people die and etc. Eventually Zordon goes on this quest by himself and leaves the other rangers to defend Eltar. Rita is given the task of going after Zordon and Zedd promises to join Rita later and marry her. Eventually Zordon grows old retires and trains other Rangers. The story would shift from Zedd, Zordon, and Rita's point of view. We would learn their backstories see what Zedd and Zordon were doing when Rita was imprisoned and what all three of them were doing during Turbo (maybe Rita and Zedd could have had something to do with the attack on Eltar and Zordon being captured) I had this great idea of Rita and Zordon having a "moment of passion" the night Zordon trapped her in the dumpster and age trapped him in the time warp, after Rita is released she soon discovers she is pregnant with Zordon's child (her pregnancy on pause during hers time in the dumpster) she only lets Finster know this and when the baby is born she sends it in the past on earth. The baby grows up to be Tommy. Goldar fed up with Rita discovers Rita's secret and tells Zedd. Zedd who Rita and her minions believed to be dead was severely injured during his battle on Eltar and that resulted in him losing his skin and requiring an exoskeleton and etc. When Zedd learns of Rita's affair with Zordon he returns and seals Rita away (only using her failure to destroy the Rangers as an excuse when in actuality he is angry with her for cheating on him) Zedd would not only be plotting to destroy the green ranger power, but to actually kill Tommy because he is Zordon and Rita's love child. After he destroyed the green ranger powers he planned to kill Tommy, so Zordon confessed everything to Tommy and told him to leave Angel Grove and hide from Zedd. After Zordon grants him the white ranger powers Tommy can rejoin the team because with his powers he is protected from Zedd. That would have worked if only they hadn't established that Tommy has Native American roots AND a brother! Maybe instead Rita could send the baby into the future and he ends up being the Phantom Ranger. I'm also not sure if I want to make Rita's parents evil, but I have no choice. Although it works this way. I don't know how I would fit Dark Specter or how Rita and Zedd joined him in the story though. I do want to have some backstory of Rita and Divatox though and possibly the orign of the Machine Empire. I also had the idea of Rito dying in battle so Rita performs some kind of spell to bring him back to life, but the spell is not perfect and he becomes the skeletal figure we all know and maybe also he becomes an idiot.
h193013 That sound like a better background and a Love Triangle of the main protagonists. Like you said, it would be better if Tommy isn't Native. If Zordon was the first to established the Morphin Grid, how come in later season *Cough* Disney Era *Cough* knew about the Grid since Zordon is gone years before like in Dino Thunder and Operation Overdrive etc.
Now I'm thinking maybe Zordon didn't create the grid, but was the first to master it's power. Maybe years ago there was a master warrior who sacrificed her life in battle and Zordon taps into her spirit and so the Morphin Grid is her spirit. I may just cut Rita being pregnant with Zordon's child.
So the Grid is like the Force for Rangers to tap into the Power against the Siths which is the villains of each season and must train in order to master its power against the forces of evil to being balance. Zordon may have the Grid written down in stone for how to use and master the Power in case he died and pass down to certain people in case new threat arose to power in future series. This brings me a bigger problem: The did Dr. K know his power since their in the alternated universes and know what's going on in the main time.
If that's true Zordon may make the Grid universal to connects all alternate dimensions that contains the similar power and could explain how Dr. K got the source and explain how we got Sentai Only teams from Super Megaforce if my theory stated that Super Sentai are in the alternated universe from the Rangers and Zordon could be in their universe since he's stuck in a Time Warp inside of a Tube and contact the Sentai Teams off screen for 10,000 years before Mighty Morphin.
If he can get ahold of it and take care of other comics, maybe. Although I'm hoping he'll one day find and review a Power Rangers/Beetleborgs crossover comic.
for one, you are amazing, well done for making these. 2 big fan of masked rider, so sad the kamen rider didn't get a next season. 3 can't wait for beetle borgs reference.
10:20 agreed they should have gotten the animal of their zord for the helmet or just skip this and make the alien Rangers season 3 actually developing them
I loved Lord Zedd's design as an American creation when he first came about but damn, Master Vile is even more frightening. Of course, though, Master Vile is literally, the main honcho from Kaku Ranger that season 3 of MIghty Morphin' is based on. One can't even find the right words to describe Master Vile. With Lord Zedd, it's literally, easy as he's basically, a walking corpse with his skeleton being not only silver but external as well. Master Vile definitely, looks other worldly, (again this due to him being from Kaku Ranger, just like Rito is), or even some kind of demonic entity or so. He may not had been around for very long, but he was most definitely a threat.
@Linkara-AtopTheFourthWall 22:35 I think the sword from last season was the only thing that could transfer the powers of multiple Rangers instead of just one. If it's just one Ranger transferring their powers, they can just hand the power coin to whoever is deemed worthy. In this case, Kat being the worthy one having been chosen by Kim. Also, has Ninja Steel/Super Ninja Steel been released on DVD yet? I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the show. May the Power protect you.

I only know this because I used to live in Santa Clarita, and years later, I had the honor through my work to visit the Command Center in person...and its absolutely astounding to see it in person.
OOH! OOH! The Pink Power Coin thing is brought up in the newer MMPR Comics, she gets a solo series and gets to reclaim her powers to take on Goldar by herself.

Different powers do seem to run by different rules in later seasons, so that would be consistent.

It's kind of funny how Masked Rider never seemed to catch on in America, because in Japan, Kamen Rider is arguably MUUUUUCH more popular than the Sentai shows.
Masked Rider was in many ways a "downgrade" to MMPR. It looked and felt far cheaper and had none of the PR charm.
lcyw20 there may be some truth to that, though at the time it wouldn’t matter since kamen rider wasn’t doin anything in the 90s except 3 movies and masked rider used that footage.funny side note, kamen rider dragon knight was a smash hit over in Japan, toei even saying they would like to try kamen rider again in the u.s.
His soul is basically Wile E. Coyote.
@@PolarPhantom
To be fair, Rito already seems to be a type of undead. He's probably had experience cheating death before.
Still feels 'very new' to me
Danny Lavery
There Rpm as well BTW
The use of multi parters definitely showed that the writing has gotten stronger to allow the characters to grow and also demonstrate how serious the villains were. Too bad other writing staff don't try and do the same thing in current power ranger shows.
Rito Revolto and Master Vile do feel like underrated villains to me. Plus, we get the introduction of the Zeo Crystal, which becomes quite the game changer.
The comics really do a good job at explaining the lore of what is established from this show.
the Omega Rangers are a great example, and that’s only one example
Those back then the comics probably wasn't but since thenI would agreed
Interesting thing about the Season 3 Zords:
Both the Ninja Zords and Shogun Zords did indeed come from Kakuranger, but the order was reversed for Power Rangers. Let me explain:
In Kakuranger, the team started off with the Shogun Zords.
It does make the Falcon combinations funnier since that would mean the shogun megazords laser pecks was their first idea.
the new "armor" they got, could have been the movie suits!!! that would have been way better than glitter
Yeah, you're right!
I wonder if there was some legal or logistical reason they didn't use them.
they probably wanted to squeeze another toy line into the season.
I read somewhere that the movie suits kept tearing when filming the fight scenes, so maybe potential production costs made them wary of using the move suits for the tv show.
Cameron Beastmobile those movie suits belonged to Fox.
Or the DaiRanger suits, or even something similar to the dragon shield
25:53 I think the metallic armour should have been the suits from the movie.
+Deka Red But then again, the suits were, to quote Linkara, "Hellish to work in"
They were REALLY heavy.
Spidey View Maybe. But at least something like that. Maybe give every ranger a special shield like in megaforce ultra mode.
There's also the fact that Fox probably owns the suit designs and anything else created for the movie.
KnightwolfV3 and why would fox not allow a show shown on fox to use suits they own?
Well, mainly because the facts the suits were made for a movie which Fox has more rights over with than Saban (it's why we've not gotten Shout Factory re-releases on DVD), so Saban would have to negotiate to use them in the show, and Fox no doubt would have wanted a high cut in exchange.
Rewatching this after seeing Zedd's return in Dino Fury is pretty awesome.
Going into this season, I thought I was gonna suffer and slog through it with the unnecessary ninja stuff and all sorts of clutter…but it ended up being my favorite of the Mighty Morphin seasons. Rito is best villain, 10/10 would morph again.
Never knew i wanted a full history of Power Rangers but i’m already 3 videos deep in the rabbit hole and i gotta see it through
Kind of a shame that back in the 90's, no one was thinking of big, multi-show universes.

That's why they made tommy leader right away.
jlantern100 Yeah I agree. I think those guys left right after they filmed the white light scene.
plus, I like to think overtime Tommy worked harder to become more reliable and less forgetful and even became quite strategic in planning certain attacks when leading the team.
To be fair about the demotion to tech adviser was because of Ohranger stock footage
Knowing this it's honestly shocking that he came back for Once and Always and Cosmic Fury (and that he apparently thought of the anniversary concept for Once and Always)

The "tenga" characters are possibly based on Tengu, a type of yokai, or Japanese folklore creature.
They're even called Tengu in the MMPR movie.
Man I just love this funny and sarcastic commentary
My reasoning for why the suits look the same despite the new animal zord powers is that the suits themselves are tied to the Power Morphers, not the coins. The coins are more like a battery in an electronic device, they don't affect the look of the device, they're just a power source for the morphers
Lol with the way bulk was looking at skull like a snack @4:50 makes me wonder 😬😅🤣
I remember reading books about Power Rangers as a kid, and it revealed that when Zordon found them, he challenged Rita to a coin toss to decide the fate of their battle and using the Power Coins won. Rita put him the time warp as an act of petty revenge.
It's been so long since I've watched this... it felt new again. thank you.

"Since of course, ninjas wear bright yellow or blue."
Well, at least blue is closer to the real thing, since as Gaijin Goomba is always saying...
♪ Real ninja wear blue! ♫
Tbf about the frog line in the movie, it was an ad lib from the actor, and the director allowed it and kept it. JYB even said he wanted Adam to be bummed about having to drive a minivan in turbo but the Director wouldn’t let him.
*Everyone getting the Turbo Zords*
Adam: aw
Kat: what is it Adam?
I think they kept the Zyuranger suits since they were so iconic to the show
Plus possibly risk losing the audience at the time since they never changed the suits other then the White Ranger before the Alien Rangers arrive.
Imagine if they had use the Masked Rider in the "Countdown to Destruction" season finale lol
As well as the Ninja Turtles from Next Mutation. Like them teaming up with Justin.
thanks for bringing back childhood memories. can't wait to watch your other videos on your website
This is my favorite season of MMPR. I liked the ninja suits and them having several zords.
27:09 "However, Rito drops the jar triggering Ninjor's action figure leg buttons, pissing off 72% of the audience watching!"
🙄
Or maybe after Zordon died he became part of the Morphin Grid and all Rangers after that taped into Zordon's spirit
4:01 You mentioned a comic crossover between the two shows. Will it ever be on Atop the 4th Wall?
If he can get ahold of it and take care of other comics, maybe. Although I'm hoping he'll one day find and review a Power Rangers/Beetleborgs crossover comic.
dnmstarsi that happened
sscool100 Yes it did. Between Turbo (before Passing the Torch) and Metallix.
for one, you are amazing, well done for making these. 2 big fan of masked rider, so sad the kamen rider didn't get a next season. 3 can't wait for beetle borgs reference.
“Even though they can teleport anywhere, thus Shark Cycles make absolutely no sense.” YAY!!!
Ron Wasserman's music is fantastic. I can't get enough of it.
5:59 Ah, so THATS why we all loved the pink ranger as young adolescents...
Seeing Kim wearing that outfit did things to me
i like your reuploads you cover stuff that you forgot last time
If I were to guess on Katherine's cat power she may have only had it when she was evil due to it being given to her by Rita.
Teeeeeeeeeechnically, Vasquez Rocks is right outside Santa Clarita, California, while the Command Center is roughly 30 miles east in the town of Simi Valley. I only know this because I used to live in Santa Clarita, and years later, I had the honor through my work to visit the Command Center in person...and its absolutely astounding to see it in person.
I’m back for my 547th view! Happy new year buddy!
I'm watching through the show. Episode 22, Bulk and Skull have been involved so many times, Ed - err, uh, Zedd - actually knows their names.
OOH! OOH! The Pink Power Coin thing is brought up in the newer MMPR Comics, she gets a solo series and gets to reclaim her powers to take on Goldar by herself.
13:03
Tommy: And that is how I met your mother, son!
JJ: Mom was a cat lady? 😮
Ninja Quest is a better Power Rangers Movie than the real Power Rangers Movie.
Seeing that episode that introduces Kat, I kinda want a crossover between Power Rangers and Animorphs.
It's incredibly shocking how many seasons are ninja or samurai themed. I can think of four off the top of my head
The footage looks older than zyuranger footage because it is older than the Zyuranger footage. The final episode of Kamen Rider Black RX aired in September of 1989 and Zyuranger was airing in 92 and 93
