Tried many options over the years for this critical issue with indoor training. Settled on a Vornado fan on the Kickr desk less than a metre from the face and a large rear floor fan. It’s been a game changer.
excellent review. borrowed my mates headwind while he was away and now feel i need that type of fan. the headwind is so expensive though so been doing some research into these and this seems to be the best value out there. your review has persuaded me to go for this one. cheers.
Massive thanks for putting this all together. This is the second review video on here I’ve seen for it now and both recommend it (yes it is a little pricey but a good fan is essential for indoor riding). Off to get mine tomorrow
Grey fan grill have 4 round elements looking like feet. Have you tried to put this fan on its side, grey inlet down, so outlet would be positioned vertically?
Thanks for that. I currently use a table top house fan, plus air con machine nearby just to keep the overall air temp low. However looking for something a bit more professional /direct but grudge paying the Wahoo price 😬..... This could be a suitable option or something similar. Thanks Really like the remote feature 👌
I wasn't too sure if this would be worth it or not, but having the controller is great, just flick through speeds as you go through the workout. I also didn't wan to pay for the Wahoo fan 💰- So this was a happy medium. The only thing I would say is that the vertical layout of the wahoo fan makes more sense, I'll hopefully be able to get one at some point so I can do a comparison.
This is just being repurposed for indoor cycling. For indoor cycling, they should have a vertical layout and not an horizontal one. Muchlike the wahoo fan that was purposed built for indoor cycling, Over time someone will come out with one.
I've not tried the Kickr fan but I'd be keen to give it a try and see how it compares. So far the Vacmaster has been pretty good 👍🏽. I agree on the vertical layout though, that makes more sense
The Vacmaster fan is primarily intended for the construction industry for drying eg. plaster. When they realised lots of cyclists were using them they simply added a remote. Hence why it's not in the vertical orientation. Still good fans however (I use 2).

Thanks for the review. All the information I was needing. Just purchased one after watching.

Hopefully it worked out well for you! I also tried to find other fans that were similar bit didn't have any luck to be honest 👍🏼

Glad you found the video helpful! I use my fan every time on on the turbo and it's not skipped a beat yet. I hope you managed to get one!
Another great video can wait for the other comparison 😎😎
Cheers, Anyd! Glad you enjoyed.
I’m very tight on space with my wattbike set up, how close do you think you could you put this to the bike to still get the cooling effect?
Meacofan 1056 or 1056P. The airflow is extremely directional.
thank you for the review. your are a legend JC

I do this and it works so much better. You can also download a side mount 3D file for a 3D printer.
Put a shirt on mate FFS! I thought I was watching one of the YMCA guys demonstrating his riding technique.
