In the past, pigs were typically slaughtered in winter to prevent the rapid spoilage of pork, which could lead to various diseases. To address this issue in hot climates, religious leaders simply prohibited the consumption of pork, effectively solving problems related to poisoning and diseases. That’s why Muslims and Jews, guided by religious teachings, avoid consuming pork. In India, various cultural and religious practices also lead many people, particularly Hindus, to abstain from pork consumption. This adherence helps mitigate health risks associated with improperly handled pork. However, those who still consume pork must thoroughly cook and process it to ensure safety.
Yep. I'm the writer, from Italy, the editor is from Indonesia and the narrator from Canada. I'm very happy to help you out with this. By the way, what country are you from?
Why is the Philippines incuded in the countries which does not eat pork? Majority of Filiponos are Christians, we eat pork. You should try our lechon baboy or roasted pig and our dinuguan.
I did try the lechon baboy. It's in the list because the consumption is below 20kg per capita in a year. The list says 20kg or less incljding prohibited
Nono. I'm a studying several subjects, one of them is geography. I was surprised to see that when I landed during the night in Davao at the immigration there was a Muslim lady who printed our visas. Because I knew exactly that they were a minority and living mostly in Bangsamoro. But as the GDP per capita is very low there, it makes sense for them to transition to wealthier provinces within the Philippines like Davao
In a major religion there's always 3 aspects at least: the political/historical, the literal/external, and the esoteric/internal. This is quite a good video on the first two aspects. There's the third one though, but that's only relevant for a minority. Very well done, sir. I'm suscribing to this channel.
A book on Egyptian religion said that pigs were sacred to the god Set, and it was permitted to kill and eat pigs on the day of the full moon, but the ancient Egyptians believed that if a pig was touched on any other day it would cause leprosy, ..presumably that would make most people keen to avoid them.
Nothing to do with God (genesis)/Jesus. Both said its not unclean (Mark 7:18-19). It was as alluded to a way for them to enforce differences which at times would of been a necessity anyway because of drought, resources, disease etc. "do not call anything impure that god has made clean". Corinthians says Food will not make us fit for god. The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them (Romans).
Ah, see?! You said Philistia is from the west, the sea-people. So they are not arabs. Those who are saying Palestine is Philistia and they are arabs are mistaken. Hhmmm
The Philistines were in fact Greek, Philistines comes from the ancient Egyptian word "Peleshet". Philistia was called by the Greeks Palaistiné and by the Romans, once they conquered Judea, Syria-Palaestine to mock the Jews who did not want to submit. Later with the arrival of the Muslims with the expansion of Islam, the Arabs settled in this area and called themselves Syrian-Palestinians or specifically Syrians or Lower Syrians (Palestinians) until the Ottoman Empire lost the territory and was divided by the British in a Jewish part and in an Arab part. So no, Palestine did not exist as a "cultural spot" in the period. In fact, if you check in the Quran, you can find the sentence "Children of Israel" like 50 times, but never "Children of Palestine". It's like calling Iran Persia, or the UK just Britain or England. It's a linguistic mistake
Then why in the world would he invent the uncrucified Jesus? Why would he create such a huge unnecessary roadblock to conversion for both Juice and Christians?

@@slothybaka2259 Ahaha. It's kind of possible to find strange verses. For example right now I'm writing the next video about Manna, and in the bible Manna is described as a food that is like ''bread'' that falls from the sky and that it breeds worms and fades away from the soil as the Sun, from the morning, makes the day progressively more hot. What the researchers discovered is that Manna is not like ''bread'', the translation refers to food in general in that period. And it does not breed ''worms'' but ''ants'' because the locals in the Sinai Peninsula in Arabic call crawling and invasive insects as worms (xD). And the Manna does not fade away from the ground as the Sun progressively makes the day more hot, it's the ants that when the soil reaches 21C° in the morning, come speedily to collect the manna from the ground making it seem like it's fading away as the day is becoming hotter. Immagine, if there are so many mistakes of authorship and translation in few verses of the bible, how many thousands of mistakes are for each book of the Bible/Quran translations etc. If you check the paragraph of the Plagues of Egypt in different languages, the 3rd plague of Egypt is the plague of הַכִּנָּ֔ם (hak·kin·nām), which are gnats (agas in Indonesian). English often translates them also as lices (kutu). In Spanish you will find that they are (kutu rambut) while in Italian you will find they are mosquitos (nyamuk). xD Each translation, a different animal!
@@VladRacovitaEN This's remind me to the story of the cat origin that cats re created from lion's sneeze. Well I'm confusing why ppl in the past made a word with a lot of meanings? Isn't that's make the word looks ambiguous? Why they did that?
@@slothybaka2259 Well not really. On the contrary. Early societies have very simple languages, with few words, very simple grammar and often no tenses. But as time passed by, and civilizations grew increasingly complex, the language evolved into complex systems to maximise efficiency. The early Hebrews, as such, called ''Lehem'' all kinds of food they could eat to survive. Modern Hebrews changed the meaning of ''Lehem'' into bread, because bread, for most of our existence, was the main caloric intake of person. Now, I don't know for a Hebrew of that time, but Roman soldiers got like 70% of their daily calories just by eating bread. Languages are very very, incredibly flexible. If you check the earliest form of ancient Hebrew, you'll discover that it did not have a developed ''religious'' vocabulary. - Elohim, literally ''Gods'', means ''God''; - Infinity does not exist in ancient Hebrew, ''Olam'' means something that begin in an unknown past and will end in an unknown future. - Concepts such as good or bad, heaven or hell, really don't exist. - Hebrew writing system, like other semitic languages in the nearby, like Aramaic, Aramean, Edomite, Phoenician, etc... still to this day does not have vowels, and in the past words were even written one after the other without space!!! In summary. The ancient people created very simple languages, then they got developed through time becoming more complex, with some words often entirely changing in meaning.
Our first diet, as recorded in the Bible, given to Adam and Eve was herbs with seed. The only forbidden herb was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Our next diet as recorded at Genesis chapters 8 and 9 was the all you can eat diet given to Noah after the flood because there was nothing growing yet. The next diet given only to the sons of Israel at Leviticus chapter 11, were the kosher animals listed there. This diet was intended to set the sons of Israel apart from the rest of the nations as a chosen people of God. Meanwhile, all of the nations were still enjoying the all-you-can-eat diet. I call this the survival diet because many people all over the world had no choice but to eat many unsavory things to survive. Christianity as introduced by Jesus and his apostles, is where the issue of kosher food comes in. Peter has a dream at Acts chapters 10 and 11, and 15 which describes the nations to be declared clean by God in spite of the food that they eat. This is because God declared these foods to be clean, therefore the people who eat them are clean. It was God who told the nations to eat all of these things to begin with all the way back at Genesis chapter 9. It should be noted that God had also given the Sons of Israel mana to eat for 40 years while wandering in the desert. This would have to be the ideal food for cleansing and nourishing the body. Although, probably not the ideal food for variety. Modern medical science has proven that the vegetarian diet is much healthier than the all-you-can-eat diet and the kosher diet. God has changed our diet multiple times based on our circumstances. The circumstance of the nations was not the same as the circumstance of the children of Israel.
In case of Peter's dream it is not about God declared all food eaten by the gentile nations to be clean. It is more about fellowship and or table fellowship. That the Jewish shouldn't welcome the gentile believers in fellowship/table fellowship, and vice versa. And food shouldn't be the stumbling block for their fellowship. But nowhere indicate that God made change or adjust his law about dietary law. The gentiles reffered to in the text are.Romans citizens. And it should be understood that the term Food itself in Jewish understanding is everything Kosher according to the dietary law. So all food is clean is referring to those food considered kosher. Not everything can be eaten considered food in Jewish understanding. And the new gentile believers are not to be condemned or judged as unclean for fellowship with because of what they ate before they became believers. That alse doesn't indicate that those new gentile believers still allowed to eat everything as they become believers, as they grow in their faith and learning and understanding God's law and commandment. Before that this issue also was addressed before the elders in Jerusalem regarding the gentiles as they didn't know nor understand yet about dietary law, so the apostles must tread it carefully lest the gentiles will be disheartened because of food, and considering food is something is very important and sensitive issue at the same.time, it is not easy to just stop eating things you used to eat every day. So. It must be done gradually, so.they are told to eat food that being.offered as sacrifices to idols. And those people at the time.living there or any other roman provinces their typical cuisines are not differ from food the jewish people eaten. The difference are mainly the jews based on tradition considered sold in common market butchered by.gentiles thus.make the food impure (because the gentiles are conidered unclean) so food touched or made by the gentiles are considered imppure also to them. And them Jews do not buy nor eat meat or food by gentiles because they are considered common food, or impure food bevause they were touched or processed by.unclean gentiles. The main point is that jewish believers and gentile believers should not be stumblinh block for each other because of tradition or food. Each other should learn to understand each other, the gentiles when having fellowship would respect the jewish believers who still maintain their traditions (like washing hands, etc) and them Jews also treat the gentiles with respect. As there are no jews not gentiles in Christ. They are all believers in Christ,.one family. Paul then told the Jewish believers that those food are clean, kosher according to the dietary law. Because they are food. They can't be made unclean or impure because of touch or processed by gentiles. Food is food, because the Jewish believers in that time many still follow their Jewish customs and traditions too, while Jesus and His apostles emphasizing the law of Torah above the law and tradition of men, the Pharisees and others put their law (oral law) and traditions above the written law. This is why Paul taught them Jewish believers to not make clean food impure just because they are sold, touched, or processed by gentiles. As long as they are meat or food that considered kosher in the Torah they are clean for them too. In new testament in its original greek use different word indicating kosher and impure but in english translation both are translated as unclean. The same for other.translatiin thus cause all the misunderstanding. While the Jews accusing Christians as not following law of Torah, the Christians believe Torah laws were only for the Jews and in regards of food Christian can eat anything they like because Jesus made it all clean which is no where in the New Testament Jesus changed any law of Torah. Jesus Himself abide by the Torah law, so were.the disicples and apostles. And this is all because of translating two greek words into one english word, and the lack of understanding of Jewsih custom and traditions and worldbiew by many Christian bible teachers or pastors, who in their teaching dismissed those things as Jewish and not necessary.to help Christians in understanding aspect of traditions as.followed by Jesus, his disciples/apostles and earliest believers in New Testament.
