Our issue is that the top rack seems to have a lot of gunk on our cups on the top level, but everything else is fine...looked at many videos that talk about cleaning up to the chopper assembly, which I have done numerous times that I could do it with my eyes closed. I've even replaced the chopper assembly. Still having the same problems though....not sure what it could be and most videos don't address the issue...water seems to be recycling in the unit, but for some reason, top rack cups get some extra gunk....gotta figure it out....
I ain't no dishwasher repair man but maybe your upper spray arm might not be spinning. Try and catch them in action. Could be the spray arm is cracked or all chunked up. Pain in the ass to clean them out but it can be done. Barring that, it might be the circulation pump that moves water into the spray arm. Good luck mate.
So when the door springs get tired and you get a replacement kit with cords, lube the nylon cords with soap, otherwise there's an ungodly groan after they're replaced. One of our front panel indicator lights doesn't work most of the time, so I'm deciding if I want to pull the control panel and see if I can fix the surface mount LED. The damn parts sites show a "light", which is not a light, but a plastic light pipe insert that cannot fail. This has been a nice, quiet dishwasher but entropy is taking its toll.
Yo are able to do more than the the 2 “Sears” (it’s not Sears anymore) repairman can do. Since we purchased the Sears warranty 4 years ago before our Sears closed, so, we have had them out to our home for repair 3 times in February, 5 times in March, 4 times in April, and 5 times in May. Yes, even the repair company is not Sears, but only bought the name, which the vans they arrive in have a strange name. Through many tears I finally called one of the few Sears Stores still open and talked to the manager. He gave me a different phone number and told me to say, “Due to multiple failed attempts to repair, I’m requesting a new replacement.” I received an email today with a link to pick a new dishwasher. He also advised me to never purchase another warranty from Sears, because they are not like they were before.
Congrats!! Is it still working with just the tape fix? I have a similar dishwasher. I have an error code saying not enough water F6E1. I get water spraying around and I turn cups over to collect water and seems to have plenty of water. Can’t figure out why it keeps stopping. Wondering if I have a bad solenoid, connector like you, or a drain pump that is always draining.
I have this same unit. There is steam coming out above the door where the top “vent” is on the door. Starting to damage the cabinet above it. I don’t see steam but the cabinet above it is moist after it has run. Door gasket seems fine. Thoughts? I think the inner vent on the inside of the door is to the fan or is it connected to the vent on the top of the door
That steam is normal. When you get a new dishwasher it comes with this foil tape that you put on the underside of your counter top lip. Grab a roll of that foil duct tape from the Homeless Despot and it should keep your counter from disintegrating.
@@dork3nergy ok Thanks. It seems more than usual though. Is this also connected to the fan and only allows out what the fan doesn’t send to the drain? Wondering if the excess moisture is due to a fan failure. Maybe I’m mistaken on how this works. I appreciate your input.
The vent on the inside of the door is connected to the vents on the top of the door. There is a wax motor that opens that vent. It is possible that the vent is stuck open and you are getting venting throughout the dishwasher cycles. That part can be replaced if it is indeed the problem. It's an easy fix. If you have the same dishwasher that I have then this is the part : www.ebay.com/itm/Kitchenaid-Dishwash-Vent-Assembly-WP8572611/154297548033
Could be flashing an error code. Here is the Tech Sheet for this dishwasher. It should be of some help. s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=62902928795600440330
I’m trying to figure out what the 3rd connection is to this Kenmore Elite dishwasher we got. It was used & don’t know if the guy didn’t give us the 3rd hose that goes there. My husband installed the drain & supply hose, but water is leaking from this extra hole.😅 Any idea?

It's likely a thermostat or the control board. There is probably a diagnostic test you can run by pressing some buttons in a specific sequence. If you can track down the service manual for your model, it will explain how to read the results. A good start would be to search www.applianceblog.com/ for your model. Good luck!
@@dork3nergy Have the same problem with an Elite. Changed the control board ($200) and the thermostat and it semi-worked for about two weeks. Now it's doing the same as before and we're using it as a drying rack until the new one arrives.
Thank you Hameed! Almost 10yrs later and you just saved the day. Thank you thank you!
I needed that pep talk at the end....cheers!!

Is there a food clean out somewhere ❓

That will happen. I wouldn't have expected an LED to burn out.
You could try die electric grease on the wire connector

That company is a bit messed up. Congrats on the new dishwasher though.
Anyone know why the add dish sensor won't go off
Wow! Just a simple fix, congrats on your free washing machine :)
Thanks. Even if the solenoid valve had been shot, the fix would have been fifty bucks tops.

Where is this hole you speak of?
DorkEnergy I wish I could send a pic but it won’t let me. So it’s hard to explain.
Is it on the side it's the bottom of the unit?
DorkEnergy Bottom, we’re guessing we need a T connector that wasn’t included.

It's dripping out from the bottom when I run cycle... But not every time 🤷🏼♀️❓
Bottom of the door or bottom of the dishwasher?
Why want it pump out water
It's likely either a bad pump or a faulty connection to the pump. I don't think there is a sensor that would interfere with draining the dishwasher.
