Bill is there a difference between a "shaft abraider" and a Shaft-STRAIGHENER? or shaft SMOOTHER? Or are they all the same with different names? I saw a video of a fellow showing two - one had harder stone - the other softer ... AND, is a KNIFE SHARPENER rock one with THIN STRAIGHT LINES? Thank you if you can answer these questions. OH! And the difference, IF ANY, between a SPOKE SHAVE and a V-SHAPED Shaft abraider? Is the sharper one used to get bumps and knots off a shaft and the one you've just shown used to straighten? I learned that the shafts were first heated? Are they also made wet first to bend more easily without breaking? Thx.

Your asking a idiot who doesn't have even one artifact...
Shaft smoother would be 2 piece configuration.
