If you are seeing this video and thinking. "Hey this video is Seven years old, I'll pass." Then you will be sorely missing out on a great story and let's play. Dave truly creates a character that you will get to know the ins and outs of, and how this character's unique personality affects they're every decision. Give it a go, you will be watching it for quite a while, and its a good ride. Leave a comment when you make it to the end of the series.
i was haha... may not see or remember this comment, but hello everyone 🤗
I finished this series a little while ago and I'm now rewatching it. As silly as it sounds I was a teenager when the first episode came out, I can quite literally say I grew up with this series and it's been a fantastic journey. Even with how much this series means to me it's sad that it's over, but i'm glad it happened. Thanks Dave, this series has always been a thing to look forward to and in that spirit I can't wait to see what comes next on the channel.
I love older videos but I gotchu I'll comment back on both when I'm done
Oh i made it to the end alright! I was along for the ride from almost the beginning, and now i'm back to watch it again because i'm it is simply excellent!
I'm extremely depressed and long for a fantasy world that isn't Skyrim or Lord Of The Rings.... I'll give this dude a shot...
Man. I didn't realize how long ago the start of this series was. I was 19 when this came out. I was over 400ibs, in a mental downward spiral, without a job, no money, living in my family's house that was getting foreclosued and one bad day away from going crazy. Today I'm the breadwinner in my family, I'm under 350, I saved my house, I've been to therapy to help with my cocktail of mental issues and I have a support system of friends and people who I've let get close to me. This series really helped me back then and now I'm watching it again. This channel didn't save me but it sure did help me through a bad time.
50 lbs is worthy of celebration for sure! Congrats on improving yourself 💪
Man I feel like I’m you pre weight loss and I hope I can get better like you congratulations by the way
"Solstheim is one of the cooler parts of this game,"
"This dagger ain't gonna cut it,"
the puns are real.
Warms my heart to see people still enjoy this amazing game :)
It's funny how you are everywhere in n the things I love! Love your channel btw!
I love the TES games :p
thnx man :)
***** Haha you're everywhere, and that's cool! ;)
***** And this comment also warms my heart, didn't expect this at all :)
Morrowind is love, Morrowind is life :)
a backstabbing political savant with the initials FU, trying to ascend the political ladder on a quest for revenge?. Well played Dave, well played
You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment. ;)
And the first thing he does is say that he would kill an animal in pain, just like Underwood does in episode 1.
Now if only we could convince Dave to use the House of Cards theme when Fathis does something awesome...
SorcererDave If I may suggest, in the spirit of the character, could you do an occasional third person breaking the fourth wall monologue every time there's something interesting or snarky? You do it most of the time as Dave, but I would love to see Fathis break the fourth wall and share his opinions. Just a suggestion, totally up to you.
Damien Strife He also resembles that certain someone. I'm sure that's a coincidence. :)
you've got to be chitin me!
Sellus Gravius: "Nothing wrong with your head, is there? The men said you were acting a little strange when they brought you in."
(Later at the tavern)
Guard: "I swear, I just asked his name, and he just stood there in silence, slowly morphing between races and genders for fifteen minutes."
"I just plucked it off the Tamriel Rebuilt name generator"
And thus, with these words, a legend was born.
"I'm sure they will let me go, I dunno about you"
They also let him out and he also goes on an adventure, cleans Vvardenfell of every single Cliff Racer and is proclaimed by both the Tribunal temple and the New Temple as Saint Jiub the Eradicator
After that he moves to Kvatch to write his memoirs only to be soul trapped and decapitated by a Dremora
No, he is an idiot! Cliff racers are specifically bred by the telvanni for their plumes, for levitation potions because they most of them can't cast it, and because they try to murder everything else, just like them
LPing Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim at the same time? Yeah, why the fuck not.
Plus a few other LPs... >.>
I don't care as long as he can keep up this LP going :3
***** ?Tyrion?
Tyrion Lannister meh, try to LP Daggerfall alone. That's a chalange of it's own ))
***** Not a Lannister, THE Lannister.
> I have no idea how long this is gonna go it could explode upon loading it up...
> Third season literally began today, 4 years later.
He's still on the SAME playthrough? How long is this game/how slow is he?!
@@0FFICERPROBLEM both
@Pandemic Special he still in the same playthrough lol in blood Moon a dlc
@@luckydony6375 Vol. IV HYPE!
"it may crash and burn..."
Well, here we are 5 years later with one of the best let's plays on all of UA-cam!
I don't remember using teleportation, but there I was, naked.
I like the blue plates, but the brown ones seem to last longer!
It just sat there holding its tail... what was it saying?
YourGreatOldGranny "Dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt. Everywhere dirt!"
One thing I miss about the other TES games was the random sighing, whistling and strange comments.
I first played Morrowind in 2004, when my parents divorced. This game helped me to cope, and really got me into RPGs. Since then, I have put thousands of hours into each of Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. While the graphics and combat system has not aged well at all, it is still my favorite game and, in my opinion, the best of the Elder Scrolls games. It is so good to see a proper Let’s Play of this spectacular game. This series will be such a nostalgia trip. Well done sir!
Holy shit I just relized that fallout three birthday party with the tunnel snakes as kids trying to take your sweet roll is a reference to morrowind
+Jayden Quick Not just Morrowind, but the Elder Scroll series as a whole.
+Jayden Quick
the sweet roll is a bit of a recurring gag in TES/bethesda
+Jayden Quick Although it's a bit of a leap for me to claim such; I really do think that the game Morrowind stuck with the people who created it (and those who joined Bethesda afterwards) and will always have a place in the heart of everyone it touched. The latter part of that sounds a bit cliche and fruity per say but it shall be left for lack of better words.
That's what Bethesda did. They turned Fallout into a TES game, to the chagrin of some.
Grognak is the picture for the barbarian class in oblivion too
You probably have the most enjoyable laugh and giggle ever. Continue laughting, saves children.
I was just thinking that earlier. His laugh is contagious! :)
*remembers the "spine of gratitude incident" and nearly dies laughing*
One hour of Morrowind, Jingles, cursing and n'wah's. Such wonder is unheard of.
Has it truly been almost six years?
"Everything takes a long time in Morrowind"
Speedrun world record is 3 minutes...
I swear, a good speedrunner's like an SCP, just breaking the laws of physics on a whim.
Do you people think I'm bored out of my mind for starting to watch this LP for the THIRD time?
Edit: now, 2 years later, for the 5th time.
Dave, you're my favorite let's player, because you not play only rpgs, but because this rogs are the true diamonds among the ocean of rpgs out there, and Morrowind, with and without ad-ons, is in my opinion the best out of the Elder Scrolls.
Started tearing up when I saw this in my feed. Cried when I saw how long it was.
Can’t believe it’s been 7 years.. such an amazing tale. You are a fantastic story teller, I can’t wait till the next one!
ha ha ha 7 years is like little baby (9 year gang checking in)
Rewatching from the beginning since Dave hasnt active in awhile. Probably one of the best UA-camrs in my opinion. He could do an episode of Morrowind while reading the phonebook and I'd still be engaged in the LP.
I remember introducing my older cousin to this game, he was amazed by it.
“This is gonna be a long ass lets play” you don’t say 5 years later still going
I ain't complaining 😁
I've never subscribed quicker. M favorite game of all time. Thank You
yet another LP i will follow religiously, and another character i will undoubtedly fall in love with. keep up the great work dave.
Same way I feel every time Dave starts a new series.
OMG YES! Glad to see you finally do more videos of Morrowind!
Thanks for making these! Started with Oblivion on the PC back in 2006 but this is a great way to see what all the fuss was about with Morrowind, thanks for reading the books out loud and giving a background to the storyline as well.
Your character is a Dark Elf therefore he must of been in that dungeon at least over a hundred years.
That has got to be horrible...
Oh my gosh you're right I forgot that they live that long don't all those though
"must of" what a fucking dumbass 🤣
@@cblyat53 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They can live for up to and sometimes a little over a millennium, so he should be in his 900's or so.
The pandemic has me binge watching Dave’s content and riding the nostalgia train 🚂
From one student to another.. your LPs are the only ones I bother to watch (seriously) and I find the perspective you bring to TES to be interesting, hilarious and at times, inspiring. I'm super happy you're doing Morrowind so please keep it up!!
Thanks,
Nico
Can't believe it's been so many years. I found this LP by chance, not being able to sleep i thought to myself 'hey it'd be really nice to find a person who is actually passionate about this game that followed me throughout my childhood' and here i arrived.. and dear me do i not have any regrets.. just leaving this here, hope you keep doing what you're doing Dave. Easily the best LP i have had the pleasure to watch, and frankly the most fortunate find of a channel for me. Cheers.
Dude. You are so fucking awesome. Thank you. This is my favorite game ever.
Daggerfall. Was. Better.
Zone- chan I. Didn't. Say. It. Wasn't. I simply said it was MY favorite game.
John Thomas i dont get how it had no depth, when there were more factions, and only the dungeons were randomly generated, and the pixels pretty much were the same of most gaames of that kind?
+John Thomas lol Modded Morrowind>Morrowind>=Daggerfall>Modded TES games> Skyrim>Oblivion>Online>Spinoffs>Arena.
Daggerfall had far better rpg elements then any of its sequels. As well as more refine character custimization, skill system, and magic system. Oh and it also had a better story with more branching paths. With quest that made sense and allow more freedom. The Elder Scrolls is suppose to be an RPG not a hiking/exploration sim.
The only thing that was rg was dungeons and misc npcs. Everything else remains the same throughout every copy.
tl;dr
I disagree. I disagree. And no.
uff da?
"He's gonna climb his way up the greasy pole."
That sounds like an entertaining video, especially with friends
Every now and then I rewatch this series, brings back so many memories, of a simpler time, of the long-long ago.
I love that you put effort into the role playing part and gave your character a background story
This videos four years old today and I remember watching this when it first came out
can't believe this game came out 13 years ago...
I just turned 13
He has some crazy overhaul mods
jordan parks You were born on a great year,
When I was 13 it was Pong that was the same age. Now I feel old. :P
For a minute i thought you couldn't count but then i realised....i had actually got my age wrong.
Just want to say Dave, I'm enjoying the shit out of watching ALL of your "Let's play" vids. It's how I've been relaxing after many hard days recently. Please keep them going! Cheers
coming back to rewatch this all AGAIN. My favorite series of all time on youtube.
Amazing game. Started playing it again a month ago, and hooked!
So much bigger then Oblivion and Skyrim
+Dosedmonkey I like all the Easter eggs it has that refer to oblivion and in skyrim.
Lol it's cause they make you walk everywhere. Feels more complete without the fast travel, don't it? :)
Dosedmonkey It's not bigger. It's about half the size. I never fast travel in Oblivion and Skyrim answer trust name they feel much bigger than Morrowind if you take your time.
Cretaal
Except you can fast travel in Morrowind. It just isn't as accessible as in Oblivion and Skyrim.
Also, Skyrim and Morrowind are pretty similar in terms of size. However, Morrowind is bigger due to the fact that you can go ANYWHERE since you can levitate. Skyrim has a lot of dead space which you cannot reach by normal means.
Played Morrowind for 100s of hours completly love it, but its not bigger than Skyrim, Skyrim probably has more than triple the dungeons as well.Map wize vanilla Es3 Es4 and Es5 are very close in size, played coutless hrs in all them. With dlc and mods skyrim would be the lsrgest. No mounts and lots of walking in Morrowind makes it feal larger.
Fun lore fact, Vvardenfell is Dwemeri for Heartfall as Vvardenfell is where Lorkhan’s heart landed after being thrown into the sea. Similar to how Hammerfall was originally called Volenfell meaning Hammerfall in Dwemeri as it’s where Volendrung landed after the Dwemer threw it to find a new land to settle.
Ah man, I've been sick the whole day today and grumpy but once you started talking about two great Morrowind overhauls at the beginning and the fact that you tried to just throw them at each other and see what happens made me lmao! Thanks! :D
I am so hyped for this! Dave you are literally the very best.
Fathis, eh?
Seems to be a common Dunmer name, kinda like "John" or "Steve".
Growing up in the cotton belt with parents who were born in the 40s and knew fuck all about computers or gaming (seriously I taught them how to work the VCR at age 3...), I was never fornunate enough to get to play Morrowind, and hadn't really gotten into RPGs until a few years ago. I'm actually surprised I turned out to be a gamer at all.
Regardless, it should be interesting to see this game play out, so I look forward to it!
Aaaaand there it is, my seething hatred for UA-cam's complete bollocks it refers to as a copyright protection system.
@@TheFuronMothership it's a shame because UA-cam really can't do anything about how shitty it is.
I used to watch another UA-camr’s let’s plays of this game. I keep coming back to this one though. I find comfort in watching familiar let’s plays especially those with heavy roleplay/story engagement and those where the UA-camr has a calmer voice.
Helps me relax or multi-task for a variety of activities. I will admit I’ve fallen asleep to the Fathis epic several times over the years though I’ve gotten pretty good about rewinding and catching up on where I left off!
The test is like taking the G.O.A.T. Thanks SD glad you started this Let's Play!
The Horn of Jingles SorcererDave shall sound in the deep... One last time. Let this be the hour when we watch Morrowind together. Fell deeds awake. Now for wrath, now for ruin, and the red dawn! Forth, Eorlingles!
One of my favorite games of all time ! Love it
Dave I am so glad you are doing this LP; Morrowind remains my favorite of the Elder Scrolls series for a number of reasons; the depth and complexity of it's writing and story, the harshness of it's game system (at first), and all the RPG "fiddly bits" that have been stripped out of later titles. I hope you do take a long time with this LP, and am looking forward to watching this LP play out-cheers!
And you are already aiding me with getting through the game. Actually writing a backstory first complete with a personality gives a focus and sense of direction, which is fortunate since it is very easy to get lost in this massive game.
The hype Is so real right now.
Oh I hope I can play this game one day, it seems so damn awesome.
I have been waiting for this ever since I found your channel!
This cropped up in my feed today. It's fascinating to think that Fathis' story has been going for five YEARS! That's some dedication both your part and the part of the viewers.
YES!!!!!!!!!! I was gonna go to bed but... I have to watch this now!!!
And in perfect Dave tradition... 360p!!!!!!!!! Fucking UA-cam bullshit!
And 28 minutes later!!!! 1080p HD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's surprisingly faster than usual!!!!!!
It takes time for the quality to render, dude. That's UA-cam, not Jingles/Dave/Whatever the fuck we call him now. Because I haven't watched his channel in 'bout a year.
Thefishoverlord I know man, I did kinda blame UA-cam for this... however after re-reading that comment I can definitely see how you would have some slight confusion.
The most exciting part was when I scrolled down and realised 200,000 people have viewed this haha. Amazing
I agree
I got crappy laptop and trying to see if I want to put morrowind on it
+Miles Gregory I just might
Yes! I love your channel! Thanks so much doing this LP!
I have to say I wasn't expecting subscribing to the maker of a video I was watching to tell if I wanted the game, but here I am!
And it's here, and this is gonna be awesome.
5:00- WHAT. THE. F*CK.
William Edward God-dammit UA-cam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(and whoever the fuck that was who did that sneaky ass shit)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
20:25 Tunnel snakes rule
Coming right back around full circle after watching the series finale seven years later.
i knew i subbed for a good reason youve got everything i would like to watch!!! thank you !
5:26 Skipperino at your service!
Finally
My fave let's play of all time. Time fore a rewatch, I think. :)
"Nothing Lasts Forever" 'cept this video.
Oh joy, can't wait to wait months on end for new episodes of this series...
In all seriousness, I'm fairly excited to see this. I can't play Morrowind personally, so watching it should be interesting.
Your evil sort of chuckle when you mentioned taking dead guys clothes was glorious :P
Good to see that almost a decade later Morrwind is still very much alive an kicking, not as much as Skyrim.. but it was at it's time a very niche game, but damn Vvardefell takes me back, was so young I had to ask my mum to go on the computer for an hour after I had done my homework haha :p
I hope the Sky-Wind project pulls through and is just as good as Morrowind, though I definitely do not miss the god damn Dice roll attacking of 100x misses to every single low damage hit :L
As someone whose first ES game was skyrim im not a fan of the dice system, but the weapon variety has me hooked.
Seven years, Fathis. Guess it's time to begin again. Gotta re-experience the origin of the absolute LEGEND!!! Thanks again for the journey.
Best lets play ever. Only ever gotten through volume 3 lol. There's so much to this game, especially with your amazing mod list. If you want a series to get hooked on, this is surprisingly it.
Know this is an old video and you're unlikely to read this but I wanted to say thanks because I discovered Baldurs Gate through you. Glad I came.
Dave for the missing table go into your Morrowind folder and delete the Morrowind\Meshes\f\Furn_De_Table_03.NIF file.
For MGSO and Morrowind Rebirth to work together try to deactivate the some mods of MorrowindRebirth and MSGO.
I can confirm.
And it won't mess with the save.
Yes, this worked for me too and it's MGSO causing it.
I absolutely confirm, too, the trick to get rid of the annoying bug regarding the meshes but i was wondering exactly which mods one should disable from MGSO and the Rebirth to work together because...
Well it's kinda hard to work it out^^
I know the question it's a little bit hard, but if someone can answer to this difficult question I will be very grateful.
Many Thanks in advance!
I have just started playing morrowind with the mods dave has but when i start a new game i get missing meshes messages coming up Please help
I just found your most recent oblivion playthrough and decided to check out your other stuff. Decided to watch in order if possible and enjoying this so far!
Thanks for the new series, Dave!
It took you 13 minutes to start. Dave, 13 minutes.
"Nothing lasts forever" except your Morrowind playthrough.
You deserve millions of subs I love your videos. They've kept me company while working from home lol.
Brilliant to have you back Dave, I've just started playing Morrowind myself so I'm really excited about this lets play! Your vids convinced me to buy both Morrowind and Oblivion, I've played Skyrim for about a year now but I'm really enjoying the older games.
I immersed in the series with Oblivion. Now I want to come back and play Morrowind to get a full picture. Do you think it's still relevant?
+Protoss Zerg I personally think it is, I as well came into this series with Oblivion and now I'm doing my own play through of Morrowind and I think it is a fantastic game so far, it is very in depth and there is a lot of things to do with it and it also holds importance in the lore of Tamriel.
+Protoss Zerg if your talking about the plot of the empire and the emperors, which all the other games are based around, you could say that morrowind kinda stands out in the whole spectrum in that it has nothing to do with the empire at all. All the stuff that happens in morrowind could have just as easily not happened and not effect the lore of the other games at all. If the neravarine never appeared dagoth ur would never have done anything and nothing would have changed in morrowind.
tl;dr: no it isn't, lore wise.
But morrowind is the best game in the franchise, so why wouldn't you.
+Mc crappymeal Some horrid speculation; I appreciate your understanding for the lore in regards to the region but I wouldn't go so far as to say "X only happened because of Y". Not to delve into causation and chaos-theory, as I'm sure this is more of an attempt to explain the Morrowind story in relation to the other core games, but Lorkhan most certainly could have destroyed the entire planet haha.
Oh ABSOLUTELY, I'd wholly recommend getting some graphical overhaul mods, at least for the character models if you could, as those are by far the most dated part of this game. However, it is still a fantastic experience that is worth playing through.
if your ok with ok graphics and lots of reading, yes.
Dave I must warn you, I played almost the exact same character as you a few months ago with completing the house Hlaalu quests in mind but was pretty disappointed. Other than one small collection of quests (that tbh won't even fit your character) hlaalu isn't too fun. You are used as an errand boy and nothing else.
I would strongly suggest Telvanni instead. Think about it. Already they are of the same mind set as you. Just as grumpy and cold. However your advantage is that instead of rising to power of the strongest of the three houses with force, you can introduce the Telvanni to your "democratic" imperial ways. A technique that will be much less effective to hlaalu anyway from all their dealings with the imperial colonists.
Hope you read this in time, only mention all this because if I remember rightly you never tried hlaalu.
This is looking like a candidate for the longest 'Lets Play' on UA-cam.
I've never actually seen this LP or any Morrowind LP. I just finished your Skyrim let's play last night so I guess I'll watch this now.
EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL
I especially love that FOV action that's going on.
I remember when this came out, I was in Grade 5. I was 10 years old. I'm 17 now. Might as well rewatch greatness again.
just finished watching your LP of Modded Oblivion, now moved on to Morrowind, decided to subscribe. (Y)
Now this is Amazing watching you and ***** back and forth on Skyrim and Morrowind nothing is better!
If you give Fargoth the ring you can get it back shortly via a quest which I believe the quest giver is in the second floor of the general store
It was the guy you said you didn't want to talk to
The Logical Choice That's correct
Maybe its me but Juib sounds like he would make a great ghoul.
He actually voice all of the male ghouls
I'm pretty sure
Can't be to sure, but don't believe me 100%
I just think this, I read about it online, but I don't know if its all true
+Timothy Davis certainly sounds like one
Actually Mike Rosson voices nearly all the ghouls in Fallout 3. Jeff Baker, the man who voiced Jiub was also in Fallout but he voiced a plethora of characters, from paladins to Harkness, to scavengers. The only ghoul our dear Dunmer voiced, was Desmond Harper from Point Lookout! Some people are lore buffs, I happen to be a voice actor buff lol
i enjoy when you talk more than play the actual game... so very entertained.
Thank You for inspiration, Dave! Very nice playtrough. Inspired me to try out Morrowind Rebirth, I didn't try it before. Russian splashscreens made me smile a bit. )
Chim chimeny chim chim cha-roo!
2020?
Truly a classic! I'll be here again in eight years.
Wow. This was a part of my childhood. I was 16 or so when I Jets discovered this. I'm about to turn 23 now. Freakin awesome! Amazing series
Oh look! It's the only actual Elder scrolls game that is worth praise without mods. Glad to see your "coming soon" wasn't a lie this time and a hour long episode. :)
Oh really? Was it a nice a nice little cutscene?
Tweakspirit it was wonderful
I have just started playing Morrowind again but keep restarting as I am the most indecisive character creator ever, so I appreciate this series as I will probably see the end of this character!
Great playthrough your comments are dialogue make it more fun to watch XD. Makes me want to play morrowind myself with a gtx 1080 lol
