That Dark Elf impression was terrifyingly accurate.
indeed it is quite good
Hmm quite
Joey Berwick When was it?
Joey Berwick When was it?
He secretly voice acted them for bethesda. lol :)
I actually really like your videos, I didnt at first, but it grows on you once I gave it a chance. I can't play Morrowind because I don't have PC, and I like how thorough you are unlike other Let's Players who just plough through the series without any reading or appreciation of lore. Like Grovlvana or however you spelled it wouldn't read out quest text or anything, just skip through it and then he's like "what's going on" which was rly stupid imo. Morrowind is a really in depth realistic RPG and you give it the respect it deserves tbh
if you have an original Xbox you could play morrowind. it would be unmodded but still an amazing game. I still play today on my Xbox1x and if you like old school rpgs I would definitely recommend it
I also played Morrowind on my original Xbox
Never really took the time to note that Hlaalu's symbol was specifically unbalanced scales. I guess that harkens back to what you said earlier in the series about the world itself telling a lot of the story.
I absolutely love these reading sessions.
Thanks for reading - don't ever let any whiners deter you from it, especially when it is so easy to skip. I can put this on while I play and get more immersed in the lore. There are some great lore vids on UA-cam, too.
Yeah, but Wasteland 2-style text searching would break the first half of the main quest
Yeah, as far as I'm aware, at least for the island of Solstiem, Neloth was the head of House Telvani by the time Skyrim took place, and with the reported 1000-year life expectancy that Telvani members have, he may well have been something like a laboratory assistant the player character just never interacted with during the events of Morrowind. After all, Oblivian took place just 6 years after Morrowind, and Skyrim was 200 years after that. And speaking of Skyrim, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that when we finally get The Elder Scrolls VI, we're going to be playing in the fifth era. Assuming Hermeus Mora doesn't enslave the Dragonborn (the player character from Skyrim), the logical assumption would be that they end up adopted into the Mead line of succession unless they end up founding a new dynasty like Tiber Septem did and end up emperor/empress.
I was sad to learn I couldn't join the Dark Brotherhood in this one :(
The reason to why the morag tong are so friendly is that they think you are a client and not a potential recruit. Have to be professional after all.
thank you for all these nice let's plays lately :D
Love your vids man :D they are always good and give great incite on the games that you play
47:23 Is that how Argonians looked in Morrowind? Well, good luck in Arkham, it looks very nice over that mountain
Well, you _can_ become the head of two Great Houses if you're willing to kill a certain somebody at the top of House Hlaalu...
It's almost required in the main quest.
Which mod adds the Scribbled Scroll, Dunmer Delicacies, and that elf working at the forge out side the armorer's shop? Because all of those things have just disappeared
Morrowind rebirth
47:25 fucking same dude when i first saw her lmao
to join the Mora tong go to the sewer area of the arena in vivec there's a trap door behind a locked door you talk to the guy in the fancy robes
u should have sold it to the mudcrab for full price :p
your voice and this guy`s..sounds the same..hahaha
wasn't House Telvani Bran 'Shei's ancestry?
Randall Stevenson It was but Skyrim was hundreds years after Morrowind. During that time the Oblivion Crisis happened; Vvvardenfell Erupted, the Argonian Invasion of Morrowind happened(Most of southern Morrowind was burned to the ground as the slave plantations of Dres and Idril(think that is right) ), the Provinces of Summerset Isle; Valenwood, and Elswyer "defected" to the Aldmeri Dominion/Alinor; and the Great War Happened Removing Hammerfell as an imperial province and ravaging Cyrodil.
In a nutshell Most of Morrowind during Skyrim's time is in ashes; ans House Telvani is barely Clinging on to Great House Status(Redoran is most powerfull house now and I belive either Haaluu(or however the fuck you spell it) was removed as a great house.)
You're framerate in cities is a little disorienting :P
if join a great house please join house redoran Dave
Honestly, when I saw the trailer he made for it, I had assumed Redoran was the one he was picking.
I would think that Hlaalu would fit the character's personality more, but it still has some sort of imperial ties, so he'd be less interested?
He needs to join Telvanni! Lol but I'm serious, redoran are too morally aligned and hlaalu are tied to the imperial (and the quests suck). Telvanni will offer the most power over Vvardenfell and allow him to be his corrupt self.
but if he will join the temple then it will only only logical to join Redoran after all Redoran is an ally to the temple
gal drimer Redoran are Templars/Knights of Nine for the Tribunal. Telvanni are the semi-legal necromancers, the Mages guild that operates outside the law. The Hlaalu are mafia/tradesman. I would say Hlaalu are the least interesting out of the three.
Furthermore, an Templar thief assassin? Or a mage/assassin? Both sound really cool, and less common than a mafia assassin.
BTCAmerica
templar assassin doesn't make much sense to that character who isn't a very moral person.
Is it really racism if the race isn't actually real?
so, having just started working my way through, I feel like Fathis would thrive in House Telvaani. Decent amount of magic, not afraid to get his hands dirty, hates the imperials. His bio reads like a job listing for the post of Telvaani rising star.
A good thing you're not afraid to take your time reading books and all. Really appreciate it.
Who the fuck gets this far into a fucking Morrowind playthrough and suddenly gets annoyed when he starts reading books? Like they made it through character creation and all of that faffing about, but the reading is going too far? It's ok Dave, I think they are gone already.
At their worst, well written text blurbs and full stories are usually more entertaining than watching Dave get lost in Vivec.
I once had an app on my phone with the whole Morrowind bibliography. I spent my holiday in Mallorca reading the interesting stories. Truly great lore.
"House Redoran functions as the army for Morrowind province."
Actually, all the houses have their own armies that they contribute to the province as a whole in times of war, Redoran and Indoril are just better at warring and have larger armies.
Although Indoril doesn't do so well after... ya know... the thing.
The thing? What's the thing?!?!
Well, it's official, Dave is the tenth divine. We've got six episodes of a morrowind lets play, some oblivion videos, and Skyrim videos all within a few days. We can all die happy now. All hail God-King Dave!
he is not the tenth divine. Dave is the nine in one
Dave AE Seht! Submit to Mystery!
Plus regular Baldurs Gate Streams! He's Lorkhans Daddy!
What lets player should we sacrifice to his holiness? Perhaps veriax will appease the insatiable bloodlust of his holiness. Yes, veriax will be thrown into the same volcano as the axe. Only then will the harvest be secured! #daveisgod
gal drimer
Damn elves!!!
30:33 That was an amazing dark elf impression. Also, it kind of sounded like Gob from fallout xD
That damn dwemer box....I must have beaten half the game's side quests before I even thought to look up where it might be, seriously was one of the hardest things to find back in the day.
I love how Angahran at Morag Tong was so friendly in dialogue but had the wierderst look of disbelief and disgust while doing so, made me chuckle.
Lusty Argonian made guy is my hero. I can not tell you how many times I've read that book and totally lost my shit.
Deatharrows Just being reminded of Uncle Crassius made me lose my shit, hahahaha. XD
wow, Dave's dunmer voice is suprisingly good.
WHAT IS THE NOTE OUTSIDE OF CAIUS'S HOUSE?
Also, yellow book = yellow pages
I say go for Telvanni. It would make less sense to join a great house that holds so much respect for the Empire.
100 gp for two corpses? Come on, it's pathetic. Your character should accidentally overhear about Morag Tong, I reckon. They have cookies, dental care and Fuck-You papers.
Nevermind, he did.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Fuck- You papers haahahahaha
ChildrenOfRadiation oooh cookies
Dave I blame you that i'm on the UESP During class reading Elder Scrolls Lore. :)
You should look up The Imperial Library, as well ;P
Livvy W It's been 3 days...he's gone...
at least it's some kind of education
@@settingsun8403 The best kind: Video game history... So much better than real history.
one of the best things about this game is the immersion from having to read in order to learn the plot and history of Morrowind.
learning how the dwemer came to be no more was one of my personal favorites
I never got a chance to play morrowind as a young un, but these lets plays are great for filling me in, after all this is video game history
You should do voice acting for skywind, idk if they still need people but like others have said that was a pretty good Dark Elf accent.
2021 and this is still gold
This and Oblivion, up to Skyrim. This game had a lot of atmosphere. Back when Bethesda made good games. Daggerfall too.
By my limited understanding of Daedric speech, foyada is the plural of foyadroth.
chicken vindaloo... oh yeah i need to watch the rest of red dwarf. thank you for reminding me dave.
Hell no, never stop - watch it all, always.
Ryan Connolly season 8 was good. back to earth or whatever the special was was good. i cant speak for the new series but still.
LOL six episodes in "There's gunna be allot of reading imma just put that out there now"
Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuû juu🐰
Awesome that you read aloud the books that I never really had the patience to read myself while playing Morrowind!
Thanks a lot :)
Wait, wasn't Fathis Ulven one of the Grey Fox's fences in Oblivion?
TheGoldenKing20 Fathis Ules
this is really inspiring me to do a lets play... I've never made a youtube video before and I'm a bit older now but it seems like a lot of fun, especially the idea of sitting with a cup of tea and reading the books
That statue was probably Veloth. If I had to guess.
So, you're telling me that I can't join the Sixth house? Sad Face.
I am really enjoying this LP!! Thank you :)
Gods I am seriously loving all these uploads =D Is Jolring the one who fixed your internet?
Well, this is curious... If Fathis really is as power-hungry and ambitious as the trailer made him seem (Nerevarine as Godzilla Threshold? lol), how in the world would going through this search for ancient Dark Elven history help him acquire that power? House Telvanni seems the better route for world-shaking kick-butt capabilities, IMO. (P.S. I know what the main quest is about; it just seems kind of OOC for Fathis the way you've painted him.) Ah, well, this just means more mysteries remain to be revealed... Eagerly awaiting your next Elder Scrolls anything, sir! :-D
Well he was very specifically told by an NPC at the beginning that if he didn't join the Blades and follow orders there would be consequences. And considering he's just spent decades in prison, he's not in a rush to go back any time soon...
> how in the world would going through this search for ancient Dark Elven history help him acquire that power?
He's also going to hold the power afterwards, you know. History is quite useful in that sort of stuff.
SorcererDave Fathis has lots of reason to join the Imperial cult. Living in Cyrodil all his life he would probably worship the Imperial gods and getting in good with the Empire and then back-stabbing them would make revenge even sweeter and the irony would be pleasing to Fathis, it would seem.
Joe Talley You know how I hate it when people try to backseat-roleplay, right? Please stop.
SorcererDave I know, but I am the most Meta-gamey excuse guy ever. Also, never played Morrowind. And I love the Talos.
You are unlucky that a dark brotherhood assain hasn't attacked you yet. They are piss easy to kill with starter level destruction magic skills and their armour is ridiculously OP at this low level plus its worth 3500 gold or something like that, i had 2 attack me on theway to balmora after resting for 1 hour between the 2, killed them in 3 hits and got a full suit of armour and another! Set me up for everything you need at low level... The suit takes you up to armour level 30...
adamrules01 he has a mod installed "dark brotherhood attack delayed "
This is old but in my experience finding armor is more worth while than buying it
Pretty sure you need to be a high rank in the fighters guild to get certain jobs, if you went to percius he'd tell you to come back later
I don't blame you for the Morag Tong meta, we've all done it ;)
Good job, brother. Thanks for reading the lengthy dialogue. Keep up the great work.
Really enjoying all the reading SorcererDave. It's been a really enjoyable series so far and am definitely looking forward to it continuing :)
I always figured a night blade to be about the same description that you made Fathis
Your Dumner voice is awesome! And loving this let's play 😁
Nine-toes is the first boss in the first borderlands
Last Morrowind playthrough I did, I didn't even do the main quest, I just went around doing random misc quests and Bloodmoon. The Dark Brotherhood assassin attacked me when I was level 1, I had to use cheats to kill him.
Everyone is racist in Skyrim. My guy is doing a punching Khajiit,he says he thinks the Jarls are afraid to let Khajiit in cities cause they will beat anyone's ass.lol.I don't mind the reading.Always good to learn.
40-wait, the black glove for the Morag Tong? And the Black Hand for the dark brotherhood huh...seems to be a recurring theme of assassin guilds
Well the dark brotherhood did start out as an offshoot of the MT so I guess they're just not very creative.
hmm, that is true. I'd forgotten the dark brotherhood was an offshoot of the morag tong, its been a long time since I did that quest line/looked into its lore
Ah another Morrowind episode! Can't wait to see how this LP progresses. My fav LP of yours is your Oblivion one though.
I rather enjoy listening to the reading as I tend to play farm sim or truck sim while listening. There is so much lore hidden in the books within these games.
Just so you know SD, I haven't seen any of these and starting from the very start!
To ask about other houses go to Halullu house council hall in Belmora , also the Duke in Ebonheart will give advice on the houses
Waffle reading is the best form of reading
You've got Pax Redoran installed right Dave? (It's part of LGNPC). If so I hope you do Redoran- they did an amazing job on that mod; the Redoran questline was alright to start but with PR it's just brilliant.
How come there are more argonians in skyrim than Morrowind? The Black Marsh is closer so shouldn't you find more argonians in Vvardenfell? Or can it possibilly be because the argonians and dumner aren't exactly the friendliest races.
Did... Did Dave voice Samwise from Bakshi's Lord of the Rings?
His Horay sounds an awful lot like it XD
The Imperial Blades guy steering you towards the details of the imperial factions/house that very much supports the empire...yeah, that makes sense.
For the next two days I am working on a project that is 90% copy/paste and so far I have been enjoying this series, if for no other reason that your laugh is pretty awesome and you laugh a fair amount.
Good news everyone, 2 years later, Dave has finally gotten around to joining the Imperial cult.
Hey Dave do you do this for a living or do you have other Job? Just wondering.
That dark elf impression was fucking amazing
too much text but kudos for reading them for us.
Vvardenfell was uninhabited until 3E 414? That's 3 years before Daggerfall and 13 years before Morrowind! That makes no sense, right?
No. It's been inhabited for ages. 414 was when it was made an imperial provincial disrict. Prior to that the empire let the dunmer Temple run it. In other words, it has only fairly recently been open to outsiders.
Okay, thanks. I knew I had it wrong.
Really enjoying the walkthrough friend, makes me want to buy Morrowind, but i got a question, Do you think it is worth playing without the mods?
+BaldyMcFreeman Sure, it's still a great game
+BaldyMcFreeman Still an amazing game without mods. Heck, i play it most of the time without them other then official plugins and unofficial bug fixes installed.
the memory's 😭
Hahahah, yes, Morag Tong, not as cool as the Dark Brotherhood. But a decent faction nonetheless.
Morag tong guild = Fosterer's guild guild. It's worse than DC comics.
Because of the Treaty of the Armistice, all guilds must have "guild" in their name. "Tong" doesn't count.
Your commentary is golden 👌🏼
The Sixth House will rise.
The Sixth House shall rise then It shall die.
dude, that wasn't even a clever response
tweetietheawesome Some how I though die and rise rhymed.
I'll...i'll see myself out...
Will Johnson The sixth house shall rise, but in it's rush, like candle makers come to dust.
Better tweetie?
Kaiter Enless
It will have to do. Oh man, Dagoth Ur is gonna kill me, I'm a terrible sleeper agent.
But Morrowind is all about needless complication! D:
I know a really easy way to get a shit ton of good items at like.. level 3 or so? You need to get a weapon, like a silver shortsword Fire enchanted. You also need to get 1k gold. Then you head to the vivec redoran quarters, head into the treasury, then the vaults. You then go down to the first vault, drop all your stolen goods on the ground, kill the guy in the red shirt, let the guards come to you, bribe them with the 1k gold, loot the corpse, take the key, open the vault and BOOM! You now have a free ebony short sword, longsword, ebony darts, glass longsword, glass throwing knives, various gems and like 4k gold from the chests.
You could also head into the Dren plantation villa, go to the top room, use your shadowcloak and take the Daedric leggings that are laying on the shelves. Then head outside of the house, drop the legs, wait 24 in-game hours, go back inside, use your shadowcloak and take the ebony chestplate that is laying right next to where the daedric leggings used to lie. Oh and before i forget, there's also a free Daedric dagger laying in the Redoran sewers of Vivec, guarded by a fairly weak ghost that you could stealth past if you have to.
You can join camona tong, it's in vanilla as far as I know, look in the arena basement for a trapdoor leading to their guild hall.
Hannes Lerm Or was that the morag tong...I think so yes
Hlaalu is pronounced lay-loo.
i just thought the h was silent
